You can buy this Makita 18V cordless coffee maker – without battery pack – for $38. The bare tool, DCM500Z, launched at ~$53, but it seems to have been under $40 for a few weeks (at least).
It can brew a 5oz cup of coffee in 3 mins when plugged into AC power, or 7 mins when powered by a Makita 18V LXT battery pack. It can brew up to (3) 5oz cups of coffee on a single 5.0Ah battery charge.

Yep, boiling water takes an incredible amount of energy. But hey, if you need a personal coffee maker that can be powered off a battery pack, at least this one’s on sale.
It seems that the Makita coffee maker is specifically designed for smaller cups of Joe, given its 5oz performance and runtime claims, and 3.5″ of cup clearance.
Price: $38

Thats pretty cool.
Makita. Is an innovator for sure

I used to think so but feel like they’ve been sitting on their hands the last 5 years. Coffee maker has been out that long if I recall.
Ryobi is on my radar now for innovation and cool tools.

If Dewalt made a FlexVolt K-Cup maker I’d be a buyer for sure. Who wants to screw around with coffee grounds on a job site?
Curtis
That would be flat out awesome.

It needs a power supply but OXX has a single serve coffee maker that looks like an XBox and a Kuerig has a love child. On sale at Home Depot:

It’s really only good for snagging the battery adapter to allow you to adapt other brand’s tools to use your makita batteries.
It literally makes a 1/2″ mug of coffee. A normal mug, not some huge honking mug.
It’s ridiculous how small the cup it makes is.
I’ve kept it around on my counter plugged in for a quick (tiny) mug after work, but mainly bought it and a couple more of them only to get into a free pack of batteries with a multiple bare tool purchase, which the coffee makers were eligible for.
I wired the included battery adapter into my old Bosch 18 volt cordless planer, so I now have one of the few Swiss-made Makita LXT cordless planers.

How did you wind up mounting the pack to the planer?

Any pictures or videos on Instagram or something?

Has anyone found a part number for just the battery adapter? I can buy the four discrete components, but would rather buy the entire unit.
Julian
I just screwed the adapter right to the base of the tool. Previously I’ve used the $20 Makita flashlights as adapters, but the one that comes with the coffee maker is a lot slimmer.
I’ve adapted a lot of tools to different battery platforms. The milw. M12 tools will accept Bosch 12volt batteries by simply trimming about 3/8” off the tool bottom and reversing the tool battery contact’s polarity. The Bosch battery latches right into the Milwaukee tool detents too.
For a Milwaukee 18volt shopvac, I ripped out the milw battery contacts and built a Makita slide battery receiver.
I guess I can get into the forum here so as to post some pics.

AVE did a teardown/mangling/review on this thing.

Rated PG-13 for Canadian shop gibberish.

Think this would go great with my folding pocket chisel?

No Bluetooth, no brushless motor. I’ll wait for the M18 Fuel version.

If you read the comments in the two “related posts” there’s always a joke about this being brushless.

I’m with you but go 20v max kcup…for the masses

I bought one of these when HD had them in the stores. I use it on the job, it’s really not a big deal to use it for a quick late afternoon cup of coffee. I keep a bag of ground coffeei. The box with the coffee maker, as well as a small box of the single serve Melitta coffee filters so I don’t have to mess around with cleaning out the included reusable filter.
Everybody talks about the small cup of coffee it makes, but it’s quite simple to fix. First, you can fill the tank quite a bit higher than the suggested level it says in the tank. Secondly, just add a bit of water to the tank mid-cycle. I can easily get a 12 oz cup of coffee.

I’m never surprised anymore at what will sell.

This will never sell in the middle east. Making coffee on a construction site here is a mandatory 30 minute ritual that requires a butane burner, a saucepan, fine ground turkish coffee , and a set of cups and saucers.
