Can’t seem to clear the thought out of my head of how much I “need” a tracksaw. (This is clearly gonna be a hard conversation with the wife. “Need? Really? You NEED this?” Ugh. I’m dreading it already.)
All these new tools – I didn’t notice a new model of track saw on the list. (Maybe I just missed it?) Do we (read: you) think there’s an upgrade coming? Should I be delaying my purchase to get the latest and greatest? (Because, “need” is pretty questionable. “Want” is more realistic.)

There’s no XGT track saw that I know of, possibly to extend sales of the 18V X2 model.
If an XGT upgrade is coming, it might be a while before we see it here.
I believe a new Festool model is also on the way.
Track saws are fantastic, but they also work best with a dust extractor and maybe guide certain rail accessories. If you’re going to go for it, there’s no harm in waiting a little. At the least, it shows your significant other that it’s not an impulse purchase. =)
