Milwaukee Brushless Impact Driver Kit – New Low Price

Milwaukee 2653-22CT FUEL Impact Driver Kit

It seems that Milwaukee has lowered the price of their M18 Fuel brushless impact driver kit by $50. Several retailers have dropped their prices from ~$280 to $229, suggesting a discount at the wholesale level.

There’s heavy competition in the premium brushless 18V impact driver market, especially with Dewalt’s version now priced at under $200, but this could also be reflective of a decrease in production costs in response to higher sales volumes.

Whatever the reason for the discount, we’ve been impressed with the features, power, and ergonomics of the Fuel impact driver kit (2653-22CT) and are glad to see a price drop.

I was going to make a comment on the Home Depot link…… But I’m not.

Hey Stuart, does TTI own Ramset? I found on the web some Ramset cordless tools that look like the M18 system.

Ramset used to be a subsidiary of Illinois Toolworks (ITW) whou also owns Duosfast, Paslode, Red-Head and Smith (Welding).

But who knows – since buyouts, cross-licensing, mergers etc happen so often

From the little I saw I’d guess Milwaukee and Ramset are from the same manufacturer. The Ramset batteries look very similar to the M18 and I also saw a picture of the Ramset radio which looks like little more than a color and logo change from the Milwaukee radio.

TTI seems to be the OEM for several tools – some branded with names of TTI subsidiaries (like Ryobi, Milwaukee and Homelite) and others like Ridgid (a brand name use by Home Depot and Emerson). Home Depot sells items under the Ridgid brand that seem to have different OEM’s such as Emerson, Ames-USI, R.A.F.-Disston and TTI

I cannot find any direct ties between Ramset’s R18 and R28 cordless tool lines, but they definitely do look TTI-made.

As Fred mentioned, TTI is the OEM for other brands that do not manufacture power tools for themselves. It is highly probably that TTI is the OEM, but as far as I can tell Ramset is still a subsidiary of ITW.
