Over at Home Depot, they have some Milwaukee M12 cordless power tools that are definitely worth looking at.
The new Milwaukee M12 Fuel oscillating multi-tool just came out, and it’s priced at $149. Here, it’s also $149, but you get a bonus M12 battery.

There are other deals like this one, featuring the M12 SURGE impact driver, M12 Fuel stubby impact wrench, and then there are combination deals that bump up the bundles with XC batteries.
Not all of the deals are great ones, though. For example there’s an M12 Rocket worklight and XC 4Ah battery bundle, for $209. Meanwhile, you can get the worklight by itself for $129 via Home Depot, and a 2-pack of XC 3Ah batteries for $79. So, that’s $208 for the worklight and 6Ah of total battery charge capacity, vs. $209 for $4Ah.
The deals I included in the above image montage are the ones that looked most interesting and to be decent bargains to me, but there are MORE.

I bought the die grinder, but dont use it very often. I will say, that the cost is justified even without a sale. you will not be disappointed.

It has been around for a while and seems to be well-liked.
It’s not going to cut thicker materials very fast, at least compared to 18V tools.

Sort of like the M12 Hackzall . Our plumbers really like the Hackzall when it first came out (there was no M18 back then) – but they were using it mostly to cut plastic pipe/tubing under sinks.

I used my brother in law’s non fuel m18 it was pretty meh no light I don’t like D handle I would probably pick up a barrel style if they ever went on sale but a jig saw isn’t a tool I use a lot but I do like the deal on the m12 with the free battery.

The barrel-grip vs. top-handle jigsaw debate continues! heir are fans of both – and some like one style versus another for different tasks.
I have an old Porter Cable 548 bayonet-style-blade top handle saw that uses a worm gear drive – and I thought it was the bees knees when I bought it in the 1970’s. Then when I bought a Bosch 1584VS barrel-grip saw – the PC548 got set aside. I still prefer barrel grip saws – but not everyone does.
I now also have a Makita DJV181Z (bought in Canada) cordless barrel grip saw and a Bosch JS572EBL corded barrel grip saw. I prefer using the Bosch when I’m in the shop.

Team barrel grip here too Fred. I got my first taste of barrel grip with the bosch 1591 back in the day. I’ll grab the M18 barrel grip if it ever goes on sale. It’s too bad it’s not part of home depot’s starter kit/free tool deal.

Add my name to the roster. After more research than I could admit, I joined the JS572EBL ranks. Very pleased with the choice. That is not always the case when I study something so much that I choose based on some obscure little statistic that truly has zero real-world significance. Still, at the time, I was on the rebound from a couple of impulse picks, and wanted to “be sure.” No disappointments yet, 2+ years on. And almost all of my power tools are red.

I’ve had it for a while. Def a light duty tool. No orbit. Not going to complete with 18v. Also plastic release failed on mine.

I have the jig saw. Its amazing the power it has for a 12v. I do recommend a bigger battery vs the 2.0.

I use it with a Collins coping foot.
Other than coping trim and 1/4 plywood I wouldn’t recommend it for power.
Very compact and maneuverable though.

I have a Collins coping foot on my older Bosch. Once you get the hang of the foot with a good scrolling blade – coping and fitting corners is pretty easy. Something like 15 years ago – I watched one of our lead carpenters scribing a crown and using the setup. I figured I could teach a plumber (me) to use it – bought one for myself- and never looked back. I still miter some moldings – but on irregular walls coping does the trick.

The m12 surge with free battery was 130 back in September and I gambled on better pricing for black friday, but I think I’m regretting not getting it then.

The new m12 multi tool + surge+ 2# 3ahr batteries,I will probably buy for $300.
Still debating, bought an older Fein supercut 1 month before the gen 2 came out.
Blades are expensive,didn’t want anything yellow,Makita is older and brushed.
M12-18 gen 1 were very poor at cutting materials while installing cabinets.
Dewalt has the best,but don’t want to add it.

I just got the two m12 saws with 3.0 batteries. Buddy and I went in on it together. If you get a friend it’s a hell of a deal.

Anyone eyeing the M12 Surge… DO IT. I’ve got a whole stable of M18 and my M12 Surge is 100% my go-to for just about everything. Crazy mix of power and precision in a super compact footprint. You’ll love it.

If you already own an M18 Surge and are on both the M18 and M12 platforms, is it really worth it? The only M12 tool I have is the installation driver.

I love my surge m12 I reach for it all the time. I already run the ryobi 18 volt stuff (I do mostly homeowner stuff and some woodworking) but love my m12. Got the little cutoff tool and it works great cutting cement board for me.

The Polisher/Sander (2438…) is pretty great little M12 tool – I find a lot of uses for it.
Also the ANTRobut M12 batteries have done well for me. I don’t have any Milwaukee OEM M12 batteries – found deal on a bare tool M12 and have just been using the ANTRobut ones. $39 for two 6000 mAh M12 batteries.
