Milwaukee Free Tools with Purchase Offer at Home Depot August 2015

Over at Home Depot, there’s a new “buy some tools, get more stuff for free” promo deal. Buy a select M12 cordless kit or combo kit, and you get a free bonus tool or spare battery. That image above isn’t showing the only free bonus product options, there are quite a few others. Details are way below.

How did I find out about the deal? This is more or less what took place in a recent email thread went. I drummed it up only a little bit to make it more interesting:

Milwaukee: Hey, we saw your recent Bosch free bonus tools deal post.

Stuart: Yea, that is a pretty good deal.

Milwaukee: You know, we’ve got some great deals going on right now too.

Stuart: Oh yea?

Milwaukee: Yea!!

Stuart: (After looking around Home Depot’s site) Ooh, I did find a great deal that’s worth mentioning! But I’ve got plenty of other Milwaukee tool preview coverage already posted this week and scheduled for later today and tomorrow. But it might be time sensitive. Hmm… *type type type type*

And here we are now.

The way Home Depot’s Milwaukee free bonus works, you buy a specially listed bonus combo. There are no rebates to fill out, no separate items to add to your cart. Buy the bonus combo, and you get your desired cordless kit and the freebie tool or accessory.

Prices range from $129, which is pretty darned good. The lowest price eligible tool kits are Milwaukee M12 drill and impact driver kits, meaning those bonus combos come with 2 tools, 2 batteries, and a charger for just $129. Or maybe you want an M12 XC Li-ion battery pack.

As annoying as it sounds, you’ve got to just click the link below, or the image above, in order to see all of the bonus combos. That’s the best way to make sense of it. You can choose between some free bonus tools with some eligible cordless kits, but perhaps not with some of the others.

Eligible tool kits mainly include Milwaukee’s M12 drill/driver, impact driver, Hackzall, and M-Spector inspection camera, while free bonus tool options include their Bluetooth speaker, a right angle drill, a drill/driver, an impact driver, a 4.0Ah battery pack, an LED worklight, and the eligible tools mainly include drill/driver.

That’s why I said “free stuff” in the title, as some of the items are tools, some are gadgety accessories, and there’s also that free battery option.

There are 2 M18 kits and 4 distinct special bundles include in the promo, and also an M12 drill and impact driver combo, for $169, included in the promo. The M12 combo means you can create a 3 tool and 2 battery or 2 tool and 3 battery bonus combo, for $169, a very good price if you ask me.

If you’re in the market for one of the mentioned eligible M12 tool kits, check out the promo. If not, there might be a different tool that I missed, sorry if I did.

And if you’re tired of all the Milwaukee coverage this week, please flood my inbox with great tool post suggestions, reader questions, other noteworthy deals, and other topics for me to attempt to tackle over the next few days.

We might need to start a support group! Every time Home Depot does these deals I end up buying at least 1 kit. I also wish there was more of the line in these deals. Jig saw, grease gun, vac, ratchet, caulking gun. I think this will take me to 8 M12 drills/impacts. Wife might cut me off!

I think that Milwaukee and/or Home Depot are strategically focusing on these gateway tools.

We are also running a promotion at my work (Bay Verte Machinery) on Fuel M18 kits. Trade your old tool and two batteries and receive $100 off a new kit (kit would be almost any Milwaukee M18 Fuel tool that comes with at least one battery). If you buy an M12 Fuel kit on top of the trade you get another $20 off.

Milwaukee helps us put these on a couple times per year.

*Yawn* I’m not saying these aren’t great deals, but they seem to be going on all the time. I was super happy when I picked up the drill & impact with 2 small batteries and 1 large for $99 despite the fact that I already had an m12 drill & impact. (I actually just really needed a new charger and thought “I’ll just sell the other pieces on Craigslist” but then I never seem to get those tools up on Craigslist…)

I was also super excited when I saw the M12 Rotary-Tool Kit at my local Home Depot for $59.99. I’m not sure why they marked the rest of their stock down, but it wasn’t showing up on their website for anything less than $99.

The only M12 stuff I really want now are either the bluetooth speaker or radio and the vacuum. I should just break down and pay the $60 for that vacuum because it would change my life, but I promised myself NO MORE POWER TOOLS until I sell that plastic tub of tools I’ve never touched…on Craigslist…

The M12 vac is a bit of a disappointment, I wouldn’t pine for it too much. I have it, I use it, but it’s really only good for sucking dog hair off tile.

While I’m not in the market for anything new – I still keep getting emails with promotions. I think both Toolbarn and ToolUp sent me ones promoting their versions of the Milwaukee summer sales.

Any hints on M12 Fuel refreshes? I really want the m12 fuel hammerdrill, but it’s now topping the age scale at 3 yrs old. Would hate to buy it if I can get an upgraded one somewhat soon…..

If Milwaukee is working on am M12 Fuel refresh, they didn’t show any hints. I don’t think we’re going to see new M12 Fuel drills or drivers anytime soon, almost certainly not within the next 4-6 months at least.

Milwaukee doesn’t have much competition on the 12v brushless side of things. With that being I don’t think we will see as many updates. The M18 Fuel drill and impact had been out classed by a few drills, so Milwaukee had incentivize to update sooner.
