Over at Home Depot, there’s a new M12 combo deal that you might be interested in. The new kit, model 2494-22B, comes with a drill/driver, impact driver, (2) 1.5Ah Li-ion batteries, and a bonus XC 3.0Ah battery.
There are a couple of things that are a little up in the air:

1) The new combo is available online (with free shipping), and is also listed as being available at some stores with “limited availability.” Clayton, a contributor, hit up his local Home Depot and found that their computer system reported plenty of inventory, but that the new combo couldn’t actually be located for in-store purchase.
To me, this indicates that the kits will be put out on the sales floor after Halloween, as part of the holiday section.
So you could either buy a kit online now, or wait until they’re put out in display in stores.
2) Home Depot’s product images show Milwaukee’s newest drill/driver and impact driver. However, the product description says that the kit comes with their model 2408-20 drill, which is a hammer drill/driver. It’s unclear whether you get the drill/driver or hammer drill/driver as part of the combo kit.
If you don’t care about whether you get the drill/driver or hammer drill/driver with the kit, then it’s a fantastic deal. If you do care, wait until someone orders the kit and reports back about which M12 drill model comes with the bundle.
This is a decent deal at $169. At $129, this is an incredible deal! Throw in the free bonus 3.0Ah battery, and it’s a great combo that will tackle most common household and jobsite drilling and driving tasks.

The included impact driver is the latest M12 non-Fuel model, 2462-20, which delivers up to 1,000 in-lbs of torque.

Interesting note, HD has had a bunch of different combos up on their site in the last month or two. Searching “Milwaukee Free” yielded up to 27 results at one point, but most of them werent in stock online or in-store. They were mostly bare tools with a free battery, for the price of the bare tool alone.
I called asking when one of the combos was going to be in stock, they said they had to issue a “future stock item ETA” but I never called again. Most of the combos are now no longer listed, so they were either leftover from a previous promo, or are part of an upcoming promo and were accidentally shown on the site.
Id keep an eye on it….they were pretty good deals if you factor in the free battery (example: M12 Fuel SDS rotary drill bare tool + free 4.0ah pack for $139)

Looks like it’s 129 to me http://m.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M12-12-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-Drill-Driver-Impact-Driver-Combo-Kit-2-Tool-with-Free-M12-XC-Battery-Pack-2494-22B/205482513/
Chris
Price changing to 169 for me when I attempt to check out.
Blythe M
You’re right, once I out my zip code in and selected a store it was 169. Weird

I saw them in the overhead on the gift center reset pallets. MET begins setting these on 11/3. There’s going to be a big promotion across the big 4 brands that HD carries (Milwaukee,Ridgid,Dewalt,Makita) starting that week also. You get a certain “tool allowance $” depending on the price of a combo you buy in the store, to spend on a bare tool, radio, or battery.
Chris
Any other new kits expected? Seriously wondering if the combos with free battery I saw on the site were just put up there too early
Stuart
Maybe, but promos bundles usually go up all at once. If this is going to be an in-store bundle as well, there might only be one more at a lower price level. The bundles vary year-to-year.

Just got one last night, it comes with the drill/driver not the hammer drill/driver. They lower the price also to $129.

For those with a Menards in the area, don’t forget to ask for the matching 11% discount until this weekend. That makes this a really nice deal.
Jon B
Definitely a nice deal with a nearby Menards. HD will give you a giftcard for 11% of your total right at the register as you check out.
Casey
They actually changed this, at least at my local store. HD has a pad of rebate forms hidden in a drawer that you have to ask for. It’s titled Matching11 Rebate. It’s now a mail-in rebate.
Pete
$129?….. I will go get this today.
Chris
Yeah it might be worth it for the battery packs alone. I already have the Fuel impact driver and a charger so I could part out some of the kit and make some of the 129 back.
Really want a 12V Fuel hammer drill, but the plain non-Fuel 3/8″ drill would probably suffice for now.
Pete
I went and got this today, they had to dig it out of storage. I guess they wanted to sell their regular sets first.
I thought about doing that exact thing of buying the set and simply parting it out. I should make the $129 back on craigslist pretty easy. The 4.0 battery is $80 alone.
Chris
Note these arent the Fuel battery packs (which are 2.0 and 4.0ah), they are non-Fuel, so 1.5ah and 3.0ah
Either way probably still worth it….could relegate the “smaller” cap. packs to things like work lights, etc.
Stuart
I went to the local Home Depot, and the kits there are in storage or above the shelving racks. Give it a week or so and they’ll be on the sales floor as part of the holiday displays.
Note: These are advertised as being bundled with a bonus 3.0Ah XC battery pack, not 4.0Ah. Was the one in your bundle 4.0Ah?
Chris
Per someone on GarageJournal there is going to be a “holiday reset” in tools starting Nov 3. I bet these will then actually hit the shelves for sale at that time. I might pick one up just for the battery pack(s) and drill.
Pete
That’s a good question! I looked after you asked and I can’t find any mention if they are the 1.5/3.0ah batteries or 2/4ah. I looked on the box, owners manual, as well as the battery and no mention to what size they are. It simply says “extended battery” with no mention on the size…. Kinda lame… I’m sure I could find out by the serial number. With I could see what size it is lol. Freaking milwaukee….
I asked the Home Depot customer service how many they had per the SKU and they had 17 but none of the HD employees new of the sale. the milwaukee rep had to get it down for me. He knew of the sale and grabbed a couple more sets to display.
Stuart
2.0Ah and 4.0Ah usually say “2.0” or “4.0” on the side of the battery, near M12 or M12 RedLithium branding.
On the bottom, M12 batteries should have watt-hour ratings. A 2.0Ah battery says 22 Wh, while a 1.5Ah battery says 16 Wh.
A 3.0Ah (I don’t have one in front of me) should say “32Wh” or close to that, as 10.8V x 3.0Ah = 32.4Wh, rounded down to 32 Wh.
Pete
Checked it when I came into work today. Yep the 1.5ah and the 3.0ah batteries. Either way a good deal and I am pleased with their performance so far.
Glenn
That is an astounding bargain!
We never have deals like that here in Aus. The same kit here is $255 plus another $89 for the battery.
You guys in the USA definitely get some awesome deals.
Del
I must’ve missed the deal, I’m seeing $169.
I did come across some other Milwaukee deals where they’re either giving away a free tool or battery. Some are even with bare tools. I did a search for “Milwaukee free”, and it listed everything that was part of the promotion. Nothing stood out as much as the $129 deal, but there’s still some decent deals.
Stuart
Maybe this deal went live too early and was reset by HD. I’m almost convinced that it will drop down in price again, and will check on the deal page every other day or so.
Chris
Its back to $129 as of this morning (November 4th)
Chris
One of my local stores has this combo in store, for 129. But without the free battery (Im guessing they are going to toss it into any order online). Not sure if the free battery part will come at a later date….they had a lot of stuff still in cardboard boxes labelled “save for 11/5 event”, so maybe.
John
Found this out just in time. I live in the Bahamas and was in Florida for a week. Happened to see this the day before I was returning. Woke up and headed out to Home Depot at 6:20. Couldn’t find it, customer service said they were showing 22 in stock, but we couldn’t find any. They had a couple without the extra batttery for $129, but I wanted that battery. He even called in another guy to help.
After about 20 minutes he finally said maybe they’re holding them back for black friday.
Really wanted it so I drove to another store about 20 minutes away and they had them sitting on the shelf. Picked up a set and headed to the airport.
Tim
Home Depot has this kit (Milwaukee 2494-22b) at $99 for today (11/17/2014) only. I bought 2. Killer deal.
Allan
I got the kit for $99. I called this morning and they held the kit for me tip I got there. Swweeeeet!!! Call ahead…… oh it the 18th.
Allan
Oh with the 10% military discount it was under the $99…….$96.57 to be exact!
Michael S.
Their website now says discontinued. I missed out.

I just found one! Sitting on a shelf at a Home Depot in northern WI. I’ve been checking every HD in every town I travel to/through. I actually found one still on the shelf. $129. Still a smoking deal. Don’t give up they’re still out there.
