Home Depot’s Pro Black Friday event kicks off today, and with it there’s a Milwaukee M12-focused special deal of the day.

These deals are valid today only, 11/14/2016, thru 4am 11/15, unless supplies run out sooner. They are online-only deals, with free shipping to your home or local HD location.

The first deal, shown above is for an M12 drill and Hackzall compact reciprocating saw kit, for $99.

The kit, 2493-22, comes with the 2407 drill, and 2420 Hackzall. They only show a single M12 battery pack, but the description says you get TWO batteries, and -22 of the kit model number suggests the same.

A -20 suffix means it’s a bare tool or accessory, -21 means there’s 1 battery, -22 means there’s 2, and -22CT usually means there’s a kit with XC batteries available and the one selected comes with compact battery packs.

This kit is a repeat from last year, but there’s no guarantee that we’ll see it again on Home Depot’s site after today.

There was also a recent “buy the M12 drill get, get the Hackzall for free” bundle, but it seems to have been sold out and delisted from Home Depot’s website.

I think that this is a great deal for the price. If you were looking to buy either tool, this combo becomes a hot buy, since you’re basically paying for one and getting the other for free.

Next up is this Milwaukee M12 impact driver and 3/8″ ratchet combo, 2462-22-2457-20. from the model number, you can tell that you get the 2462-22 impact driver kit, with 2 battery packs, and the 2457-20 ratchet bare tool.

This seems to be a great deal, too.

The impact driver is a competitive model, and the ratchet is quite good. It’s also somewhat unique, as other power tool brands haven’t deepened their 12V-class lineups as far as Milwaukee, although you can find something similar from Ingersoll Rand.

If you’re willing to spend a few minutes on Home Depot’s site, there are numerous other M12 combo kits that are great deals.

Take this combo kit, for example. It’s the M18 Fuel drill and impact driver combo kit, 2594-22, which comes with a compact battery and an XC battery pack, and for at least the time being it’s being bundled with the same 3/8″ ratchet for free.

And if you do a search for the M12 Fuel drill and impact driver combo kit, a total of 14 bonus kit options come up.

If that M12 Fuel combo kit was on your shopping list, you now have your choice of M12 freebie, including an extra XC battery, an LED search light, vacuum, jig saw, oscillating multi-tool, Bluetooth speaker, multi-port M12 charger, right angle drill, or cordless copper tubing cutter.

That M12 Fuel kit isn’t the only base option if you want to score a free bonus tool.

Are there any M18 combos with decent freebie bonus tools? Yup! Although none of them scream out to me as a “must post about” deal, maybe there’s something on there that you were looking to buy anyways.

Just a note that my plumbing crews loved the M12 lineup and its Hackzall – even though it was not up to the capabilities of a more general purpose reciprocating saw.
They used it mostly for cutting out copper tubing and plastic/brass drain lines in tight spots like under lavatory sinks. I’m told that the M18 Hackzall – not surprisingly – has a bit more capability – but is still not exactly a general purpose demolition tool.

Was planning to get the M18 hackzall bare tool last year when the m12 kit came up – couldn’t pass up getting 2 tools and 2 batteries for the price of the M18 bare tool. A year later, I’m happy with the choice. These are my only M12 tools, but the compact size of the hackzall was exactly what I was looking for, and I’ve found more uses than I would have thought for the “free” drill to compliment my M18 drill / impact – mainly avoiding bit changes or being able to leave tools where they’re being used rather than carrying around tools and materials. Being able to charge on the same chargers as the M18s is also a plus.

After 8 years, my 18V Dewalt batteries from a Drill/Impact Driver Kit are on the fritz. As a result, I am considering dropping to a 12V system and I am considering the Ridgid or Milwaukee Drill/Impact Driver kits to build off of. These tools would be for home/DIY use. Does anyone have any recommendations regarding this approach and these two kits in particular? Also, what’s everyone’s opinion on the Milwaukee M12 Fuel Circular Saw? Thanks!

I have the M12 Fuel circ saw. Overall I like it and am happy with it. It’s light and comfortable. The only thing that irritates me is that since it’s not super-powerful, the blade binds up too easily for my liking. But that’s probably more my technique and not the saw’s fault. When you cut stuff that’s properly supported it works great.

Ridgids 12v line is fairly pathetic in my opinion. They have a drill, impact, multi-tool w/ different heads, and a palm driver (new device category sort of). For that alone, go Milwaukee. Get them on sale (buy 1 get 1 free…) and you won’t regret it.

If you are cutting dimensional lumber with the hackzall you will be disappointed. You should get the Fuel version for that. I love my hackzall for tree pruning

I also wanted to get the m12 circular saw when it first came out. I have over 7 m12 tools already and none of the m18 but when I saw a video of it cutting a plywood I opted for the m18 instead. Plus the price on the m12 bare tool is a little steep, for about $35 more you can get a fuel m18, dual rapid charger and a 9.0 battery with the $200 off deal.

The m12 drill/impact driver is nice for home use and then some. I was able to build a deck, a work bench, an 8’x8′ playhouse for my kids, and several furniture for the playhouse with those tools.

The m12 vacuum is really handy when you are working inside the house. It is so useful my wife “borrowed” two. I need to buy another one but this time I might get the m18 vacuum instead.
