Milwaukee M12 Surge Installation Drill Driver and Free Battery Offer 11-21-19

Buy a Milwaukee M12 Fuel Surge or installation drill/driver kit, get a free M12 XC 6.0Ah battery. There are two other tools eligible for the same the promo – the M12 Fuel Hacksaw kit, and 5-3/8″ circular saw bare tool.

Milwaukee M12 Fuel Surge Impact Driver

The Milwaukee M12 Fuel Surge is their oil impulse-style impact driver. With this unique mechanism, it’s far quieter than traditional impact drivers. They have had a similarly designed M18 Surge driver out for a couple of years now, and it has been extremely popular, resulting in a lot of request for this M12-sized version.

This time of year, you can find deals on drill and impact driver combo kits, larger cordless power tool combo kits, and certain special buys. But for new tools that have only been on the market? Infrequent percent-off discounts – such as what we might find at some retailers on Cyber Monday – are the best that can be hoped for, or bare tool discounts such as the one ending today.

With this deal, you pay full price on the kit, but you get a free 6.0Ah battery, valued at ~$99.

The new Milwaukee M12 Fuel installation drill/driver is also eligible for this promo. This unusually-designed compact tool comes with different modular drill and driving heads to make it easy for cabinetry installation and work in other kinds of tight or obstructed spaces.

The kit comes with all 4 head attachments, plus (2) batteries, a charger, and carrying case.

As with the M12 Surge kit, the bonus 6.0Ah battery is automatically added to your cart before checkout.

The promo ends 1/31/20, while supplies last.

Thank you to Tim for the heads-up!

It looks like some other retailers might be offering a similar promo, but the one I checked (HD) is out of stock online and says it’s not available for in-store pickup either.

Come on over, it’ll be fine. As someone who works overhead with a drill a lot the weight of 18v tools really adds up over the day.

I have the M18 FUEL Gen3 impact and an original M12 Gen1 impact. I find myself reaching for the M12 over the M18 almost every time. It’s just so much lighter and the power is still there. Win/win.

The 12v form factor comes into its own (no matter which brand you choose) on applications where space, control and weight is an issue – like one handed reciprocating saws, ratchets, soldering irons, rotary tools, etc.

Think of the 12v/18v coexistence like this – there’s a lot you can do with a pickup or SUV, but sometimes a motorcycle or ATV is a much better fit for the situation.

So I had to get one of these at an HD that was out of the 6.0 packs – I hope I can do a “paper” return at another HD to get the battery.

How does the Milwaukee installation tool compare to the Bosch one (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B074GYX6XG)? They seem almost identical with the exception of the brand and the current free battery deal.

Just curious on this one. I picked up the Bosch version several months ago and it has been extremely useful so far.

Bosch is a brushed motor. Though if you want to tinker, you can swap the inards with a Bosch Brushless tool, and makes yours brushless. Other tool will be become brushed.

But for the work it is intended for, an unmodified Bosch should be plenty fine.

I did this. Completely unnecessary, but I couldn’t resist.

Also it is now smaller and the “de-brushed” flexiclick can fit in the top slot of my work box with the battery still attached. Haha I save seconds per day!

I’d be tempted in the Bosch one if I wasn’t already invested in the m12 platform.

I look forward to using this one, it looks extremely useful.

The biggest usability difference is the handle and subsequent balance point.
The newer design M12 seems a tad more “holdable” in maybe more weird positions?

Thanks for the deal posts Stuart!

A lot of times when the item is part of a promotion, HD will say it is unavailable in store for pickup. Many stores do in fact have the installation driver on display & available, replacing the Surge kit, which I think will be harder to locate in store now.

Local HD Milwaukee rep will set the deal up at the counter with the two separate items if you ask them.

HD has both of these with the 6.0 battery bonus for the same price as tool nut. My local HD (Evanston, IL) has a little display highlighting the install driver + 6.0 promo.

Thanks, the new Milwaukee M12 Fuel installation drill/driver will save me from buying the Bosch version.
As @Jon says “Come on over, it’ll be fine.” I have found that the Milwaukee 12V impact drivers handle 90% of the driving tasks, and they are much lighter. Plus with the 6 Ah pack one gets a long run time. When I work on lean-to builds, it is only when driving 3″ plus lag screws that one needs the 18V units. Since the 12V now has “Same 450 in-lbs of torque as the M18 Fuel Surge impact driver!”, this should not be an issue.
