Milwaukee M18 Cordless Tool and Packout Bonus Combos Late Holiday 2018

I posted about the Milwaukee M18 cordless power and tool and Packout tool box bundles early last month. They’re really good deals, bundling cordless tool kits and Packout tool boxes at strong discounts.

Well, it’s now mid-December, and Home Depot just made their Milwaukee M18 + Packout bundles even more compelling, by adding in extra bonus items.

The $199 kit now comes with a bonus Shockwave bit set (valued at $20), the $299 combo now comes with a bonus hole saw set (valued at $40), the $399 kit now comes with a bonus 5Ah battery rapid and charger starter kit (valued at $99), and the $499 kit now comes with a bonus wet/dry HEPA vac plus 5Ah starter kit bundle (valued at $149).

Buy Now:

  • $199 M18+Packout bundle (M18 compact brushless)
  • $299 M18+Packout bundle (M18 Fuel)
  • $399 M18+Packout bundle (M18 Fuel, with 5Ah and 6Ah batteries)
  • $499 M18+Packout bundle (M18)

Here’s the previous post that discusses the combo kits in a little more detail.

Deals end 12/23/18, unless supplies sell out sooner.

Sorry, not that I can see.

It could be 12/31, when supplies run out, next Saturday, or even after the new year.

I know you mentioned not using eBay yourself, but even as much as I despise eBay (10% cut for selling is ridiculous to me, at least if there isn’t a live auctioneer), I think you could be leaving money on the table.

I picked up the $399 Fuel Packout w/ 6ah battery for $323 this weekend, thru CPO. Somethings I won’t buy on there, but this was a screaming deal in my opinion.

Wow dude I’m crazy jealous that this deal w/ extra 5ah + rapid charger is available! Now your over here talking about one of CPOs flash price drops (they don’t talk about) grabbing the fuel hackzall packout bundle for $323!? Dudeeeee wtf I payed $399 (no tax) I’m tight! But happy for you too! Nice! Lol I hit CPO on thanksgiving and grabbed 12” sliding/dual bevel flexvolt miter saw for $459 w/ 2x batteries! That was a steal and couldn’t believe how it normally sells for around $699 ish on CPO with thanksgiving eve dropped to $559 then 1 day later another $100 drop! CPO is a great store not the cheapest prices but a crazy selection!? 1. ACME 2. CPO & 3.TOOL NUT are my new favs! But CPO is friggin sneaky with those price drops & their eBay/Amazon/standard website can have different prices at times!? With eBay & the store tending to be the cheaper of the individual sales! Once again Congrats I’m hella happy you got it at that price I went through ACME & picked up a few other things in the process

I just yesterday sprung for the Makita $399 deal that HD has been running:

    https://www.homedepot.com/p/Makita-18-Volt-LXT-Lithium-Ion-Brushless-Cordless-Combo-Kit-3-Tool-with-Bonus-Compact-Router-and-2-Batteries-5-0Ah-XT333X1-XTR01ZB/307307696

    How does this compare?

The Makita 4-tool combo, while very good, has weaker compact hammer drill and standard impact driver. The Milwaukee 3-tool combo ($399 version), while having one less tool than the Makita combo, has a full size hammer drill (heavier, but great for large hole saw) and multi-mode impact driver. I also think the hackzall is more versatile and useful than router, but that’s debatable. Most of my cordless tools are Makita. They fit my hand well. I also like the light weight of the drill and impact. If I need to drill a large hole saw, I’ll use my rotary hammer. Most of the time, the light weight matters more to me. Functions while important, is less important than ergonomic. Buy the tools that feel best in your hand, IMO.

If you’re happy with your choice of Makita bonus tools, that’s the better deal. With this deal, you get more “core” tools and the Packout tool box. None of these M18 deals has a brushless circular saw, but the M18 Fuel brushless drills and impacts are more powerful and better featured however.

Yeah, the router (even though I haven’t gotten to use it yet), was a pretty big part of my decision.

The $399 Milwaukee deal still seems pretty ? though. Thanks for preventing buyer’s remorse!

Facts! Haven’t seen any immediate price drops on it this season. I just used my gen2 fuel saw last Thursday for the 1st time …was gunna return it bc 2x 12ah batteries don’t have a use really being so heavy for an impact or something. But that saw was a monster! Maybe not as monsterous as flexvolt 7 1/4 but still pretty dope! Fuel 8 1/2 table saw is to expensive flexvolt is more logical bare tool or single battery, but that really the only other tool that can take advantage of those 12 ah batteries…

Chainsaw. I upgraded my current saw to have two more batteries for my wife’s chainsaw.

Note the $399 kit includes the latest versions of the hammer drill (2804) and impact driver (2853), while the $499 kit has older versions of both hammer drill (2607) and impact driver (2656). Even the Hackzall is different – 2719 in the 399 kit, 2625 in the 499 kit. At first I was about to leap into the 499 kit, but I want the latest versions of these tools.

I read several reviews of the new hammer drill and they don’t help the case for latest & greatest. Several reviews of it heating up too much. For as much as I drill, I’ll stick with the Gen2 & my Surge impact. I’ll be gifting the Gen3 models to someone else out of the kit I just got.

I can’t help but wonder if Milwaukee is planning on addressing the overheating issues with the One-Key version of the Gen 3 Fuel drill, or if it’s too late for that. Makita gets a lot of flak on this site for their 18v impact fetish but Milwaukee’s rate of tool releases really need to slow down if things like this are falling through the cracks with nobody noticing internally.

Do you think if I got the same $399 set a week or so ago they would give me the extra charger/battery, or let me swap them out? Anyone ever do something like that?

If you got them at Home depot they will.

I took back a $399 Milwaukee kit & the 5.0ah battery w/ rapid charger kit that was on sale for $100. (on this deal, bundled at $399!).
