that cordless ratchet is one of the tools I wish dewalt would put out. I Know it’s a MAC tool with a dewalt battery. And I might get one, one day but they are pricey.

and it’s 12v. I wish it was 18 in both cases but either way.

I might get the IR version – I hear it’s good too

I don’t know how useful an 18v ratchet would be. I don’t think you’re supposed to be breaking bolts free with the ratchet’s power on these anymore than you are supposed to with an air powered ratchet.

I have the brushed and fuel versions of the M12 and there is a definite size difference. The fuel ratchet definitely does a better job with really long bolts (alternator), but the brushed one can fit into tighter spots. If I had to get one or the other and I was not using them in a shop every day, I’d get the brushed one. If I was a professional mechanic again, I’d get the fuel version.

Agree with Keith. The M12 ratchets are bulky enough as is, and the Fuel models even more so. An 18V ratchet would be huge and impractical unless you’re working on large equipment with lots of space. You’re supposed to break the fastener free with leverage and use the ratchet to drive it out, so the tool’s torque value doesn’t need to be much.

I have the M12 brushed 1/4 and 3/8 ratchets and they work well. The added power of the 1/2 Fuel model would be nice for larger stuff, but it has a much bulkier head that requires a lot more clearance.

My local HD has the 46″ Milwaukee tool chest for the “new lower price” of $598 (was $698), but it appears to be thinner metal in some places like the drawer bottoms and the “work surface” drawer top.

Any idea what is going on with these? The sku on the price tag comes back to a “discontinued” model (HD internet #206126307). If you search for the chest, it comes back with HD internet #306136151 for $798 but it is not in stock locally. Specs on HD website appear to be identical for both.

I need a second one but was disappointed with the quality of the floor model in the store compared to the one I already own.

I’m in on the 2495-22 with the M12 oscillating tool. That has been on my list for a while, and this is only about $20 more than the tool-only.

I don’t know what I’m going to do with all these batteries. I have at least ten 1.5 and 2.0ah batteries, and I only need maybe 4.

I got the same deal. eBay what you don’t want. For me, just the oscillating tool and one battery are needed. I’ll recoup half the cost by selling the rest. I’ve sold loads of extra m18 batteries.

Like Seamus said just sell them. You can sell them on ebay but there are also websites like offerup.com and letgo.com Those are both good.

Thank you for the suggestion. I tried offerup, and sold 1 almost immediately, and someone is going to pick up another 4 on wednesday. Granted I am selling them for cheap compared to everyone else on there, but I have no use for them. Hopefully someone that actually needs them is buying them and not a reseller.

I also got in on the batteries! Now I need to find a cheap kit with a charger. I’m mainly buying into the M12 line for the inflator.

I was excited when the Milwaukee M12 5-tool cordless combo kit, 2498-25 came on sale. I wanted a impact driver and a drill so i was thinking of getting the M12 FUEL 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Hammer Drill and Impact Driver Combo Kit (2-Tool) w(2) Batteries & Bag (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M12-FUEL-12-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Brushless-Cordless-Hammer-Drill-and-Impact-Driver-Combo-Kit-2-Tool-w-2-Batteries-Bag-2598-22/303101201) casue i wanted fuel. However i need the ratchet. So do i get the m12 fuel drills and just buy the rachet or get the 5-tool and not have the Fuel or what????

If you don’t need the charger or bag, the regular 3/8 ratchet is on sale at acme tools (2457-20) for $99, and includes a free 2.0 battery.

Tough call. If you can’t make up your mind in a few hours, the deal will expire and the decision becomes clearer. =)

If you can’t use the compact Hackzall saw, awaiting for the M12 Fuel and separate ratchet deals might be better.

Thanks for the feedback i’m thinking it over. One thing is i have access to a sawzall if i ever need one so i figure it out sooner than later i guess. thanks Stuart.

          It’s a hard call.

On one hand, you might not be happy with the non-Fuel tools if you go that path. On the other hand, they might be okay, and you’ll spend less than going the M12 Fuel + ratchet path.

If you have 18V tools, the non-Fuel might be okay since you can step up to 18V if you need more power or features.

I really don’t know which way I’d go. And if I can’t answer that, I can’t really advise.

If the urgency of this deal isn’t enough to move you from the fence, then perhaps that’s a sign it’s not the best deal for you.

Tried to purchase the Milwaukee drill/multi tool pkg. from HD. Multiple browsers, multiple credit cards, even the APP – kept getting a card verification error. Opened a support case with HD, they emailed the following day the issue was resolved.
Didn’t help much for a one day sale purchase.

Just got back from my local HD. They had 8 Milwaukee 2796-22PO bundles marked down to $350. Fuel and One key versions of drill, impact driver and sawzall. 2 5.0 batteries and the large (bottom only) Packout box. Was sorely tempted to buy at that price but I have all those tools already.

The kit is advertise with a full sized contractors bag.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Did you call home depot and get the bigger bag?
