Milwaukee M18 Fuel FORGE Home Depot Holiday 2023 Deals Hero

I came across a new Milwaukee M18 FORGE cordless deals display when scouting out the holiday specials at my local Home Depot.

You should be able to find the same deals in-store, and they’re live online now as well.

The display I found wasn’t complete with batteries yet, but that’s not the best promo anyway.

Milwaukee M18 Forge Battery Features

To start off, M18 RedLithium Forge is Milwaukee’s designation for their latest and greatest cordless power tool battery tech.

There’s just one M18 Forge battery out now, an XC 6Ah battery, and it features stacked Li-ion pouch cell technology.

The Forge 6Ah battery is said to deliver the same power as the brand’s High Output 12Ah battery, it charges extremely fast on the new dual port Super Charger, and it should have a longer life compared to other M18 batteries.

There are 3 special buys, plus individual batteries, which are missing from this display.

Milwaukee M18 Forge Battery with Dual Super Charger

To start off, the new Milwaukee dual port M18 Super Charger is bundled with a single Forge 6Ah battery for $299.

You can recharge the Forge battery on other Milwaukee M18 battery chargers, but it’s with this dual port Super Charger that you get the most benefits, such as an 80% charge in 15 minutes and full 100% charge in 25 minutes.

The charger’s two ports can operate simultaneously, and utilize adaptive charge distribution to maximize productivity.

As I understand it, with two batteries connected, the dual port SuperCharger can send more power to one battery and then to the other, charging them both faster.

With this deal, you get the $249 charger and $199 battery for $299 together.

Milwaukee M18 Forge Battery with M18 Fuel Sawzall Saw and Charger

Next, there’s the M18 FUEL Gen2 brushless Sawzall reciprocating saw kit.

This kit comes with a cordless reciprocating saw, Forge battery, and standard charger.

The saw typically sells for $199 by itself, or its regular single battery kit comes with a 5Ah battery and standard charger for $329.

So not only is this kit less expensive than the regular 1-battery kit, you get the upgraded Forge battery.

Milwaukee M18 Forge Battery with M18 Fuel Angle Grinder and Charger

With this deal, you get the Milwaukee M18 FUEL 4-1/2″/5″ angle grinder, a Forge 6Ah battery, and charger for $299.

This seems to be a great deal for what you get, but there’s some competition and decisions to make. At this time, the same cordless angle grinder is included in the free tool selection for various other M18 promo offers at the moment.

Milwaukee M18 Forge Battery 2-Pack Hero

The new Forge battery is priced at $199 individually, and there’s also a 2-pack (online-only at the moment) priced at $379.

If I were a heavy Milwaukee M18 cordless power tool user – well I am, but I’ve already got a SuperCharger test sample and Forge battery in-hand – I’d go for the dual port charger and Forge battery bundle, and either another Forge battery or maybe the Sawzall kit for $100 more than for just the battery.

The angle grinder deal looks good too, but it’s not the only promo featuring that tool. I think the Sawzall bundle is a more compelling offer.

“As I understand it, with two batteries connected, the dual port SuperCharger can send more power to one battery and then to the other, charging them both faster.”

This is correct, it is kinda goofy and depends on if the batteries you are trying to charge can accept a supercharge. Assuming both batteries can accept a supercharge, it will charge one battery at 12A and the other at 6A. Once the first battery is done it will charge the remaining battery at the full 18A.

I guess by doing it this way you have one battery ready to go quicker, rather than if it was a straight up simultaneous charger and charged both at 9A.

I do wish more Milwaukee deals would leave off the standard charger. Like others have mentioned previously, I already have too many chargers. I’ve passed on deals because of an unwanted charger in the bundle. Just don’t want to pay for (and store) something I don’t need, even if the overall bundle price is compelling. I’d prefer no charger options, even if the savings was maybe only $20.

Would you buy the same deal at the same price regardless of the charger?

In yesterday’s Home Depot deal of the day, they had a Sawzall with 3x batteries on sale, with no charger. One of the “buy this, get that for free” options starts with a 2-battery bundle with no charger. I’m sure there will be more Forge battery-based deals in time.

Choices have to be made in merchandising. If in their shoes, I’d have also offered these kits in the same manner.

They have an M12 OMT deal right now, where you get the tool and a battery in the same box, but no charger. That’s the first time I’ve seen this type of bundle at a retail store. It will be interesting to see how well it sells, and if they will offer similar promo configurations in the future.

From my experience m12 is worse than m18 with the chargers being bundled. Thinking about it more ive probably bought more m12 tools new at retail than m18 though. Id assume the m12 chargers are cheaper to make. I know there are tons on second hand market and it should be easy to get one, even new for $10 off marketplace or similar.

It’s not just Milwaukee which has this problem, Dewalt is the same way. I swear the basic chargers are reproducing because I seem to have a never-ending pile of them despite having given several away. This is one area where I think Flex is ahead. Flex starter kits and most bundles include a 280 watt charger which is a whopping 11.7 amps. Give us a good charger like that in the bundle or don’t bother.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday. Viewing all deals made me wonder if the more equipped Milwaukee owners had stacks of spare chargers.

More than I can shake a stick at! The combo voltage aren’t too much of a problem for me, I’m fine having one in my garage, another in the shop, another in my rolling stack that travels to long-term jobs, yet another at a couple of the apartment buildings where I regularly do minor maintenance…

The 12v-only are what I can do without – I’ve actually been somewhat successful selling them on Craigslist for $15-20, though I can’t imagine who’s in the M12 line only and doesn’t already have too many chargers.

People buy the charger at flea markets or fb marketplace for like 20 to 40 bucks. Something to think about

Stuart, we don’t keep the batteries on the floor display or they grow legs & walk off. Ask an Associate.

      Sadly, welcome to 2023/2024.
Everything I like to put my hands on is now behind wire cages.
And my shopping cart has brakes applied as I exit the grocery store if I don’t spend enough time waiting in line at the cash register.
(like none of us waits long enough in line?)

The criminals now dictate how we shop.

The m18 forge Batteries are on sale, $179 (regularly $199). If you get on Northern tool and have $20 off $100 coupon, then it’s $159+tax. Best deal I’ve seen. Home Depot also had the 2 pack on sale for $339.
