Milwaukee has come out with a new 30″ ball bearing tool storage combo that looks to carry over a lot of features from their 46″ tool storage combo, and there’s also a new 60″ mobile work center with pegboard back.
This is one of those times when a picture is worth 1000 words. We’ll talk more about both new products either over the weekend or on Monday, but I wanted to leave you with a teaser image to drool about in the meantime.

The pegboard is attached to vertical drawer slides that allow it to move up and down to adjust for a desired height. It is then locked in.

I would love one of these but sadly we likely won’t get in Aus.
And if we do it would be at least twice the price with the “Australia tax”. That’s what we call the extra margin importers and retailers rip us off us with because they feel they can.

I purchased the 46″ Milwaukee cabinet/chest combo about 3 month’s back. Still surprised at just how much “box” you get for the money. – lol
Very nicely built units and plenty strong enough for just about any real world conditions/environments. My only real complaint is I wish the lower cabinet only has the single, full size drawer. It’s not enough to store all of my sockets. I would have prefered they had two full sized drawers instead of just the one.
To solve the problem, I was actually planning on purchasing a second Milwaukee cabinet (the lower half) this weekend, to go along side the Milwaukee cabinet/chest combo I have now. Luckily, for me I suppose, that I j saw this. I’ve decided I’ll be going this route instead and purchase the 60″ as a secondary “companion” cabinet.
Could anyone confirm the dimensions of the height/width of the 60″ box? Does it match the dimensions of the current 46″ unit’s? Would be awesome if it did. It would blend in seamlessly…

Come on Milwaukee quit f$&@ing around and release a modular storage system that works with the current job site organizer. Most tradesmen don’t typically work out of these rolling chests, they bring their tools to the job not the job to the tools. We need portability and modularity, not rolling tool collections. This is great for maintenance techs and mechanics, but other than pimping out the garage at home, what good is this to a carpenter, electrician, plumber, or mason?

Ditch the cabinet and narrow extra deep drawer and it would be a winner. I know being a power tool company they’re expecting people to load it up with an array of power tools, but as another commenter alluded to, most tradesmen aren’t going to roll this around with them everywhere. Most of those really deep drawers end up turning into “junk” drawers or storage for stuff that is too awkward to fit into the other drawers. I’d rather trade those drawers and cabinet for room that I can actually use to organize things instead of just dumping crap in after I’ve stored my drill and impact driver.

This looks cool, but when will Milwaukee start making stackable tool boxes or the ones like Dewalts tough system storage, i’m sort of upset about that but oh well, anyways im glad their getting back into the air tools and cordless nailers.
