Milwaukee is introducing new wood cutting blades in standard profiles and with a new Ax blade design. The Ax is designed to offer the fastest speed of cut, greatest durability against nails, and the quickest plunge cut ever.
Taking a closer look at the blade reveals some really clever engineering.

The combination of fastest speed of cut and ultra durable teeth without any trade-offs make the Ax pretty darned special. To accomplish this, Milwaukee shifted from 6 TPI to a more aggressive 5 TPI pattern, and developed a new tooth geometry.

The new Nail Guard tooth pattern has been engineered to prevent nails from fracturing the blade’s teeth by keeping the cutting edge engaged with the nail. Since the nails don’t drop into the gullets, the risk of teeth breaking off is greatly diminished.

Milwaukee then went ahead and created a new leading edge that features fang-like teeth and an extra large gullet to achieve the fastest plunge cut available in the industry. This should greatly reduce the chance of blade bounce or wandering when starting a cut.

Interesting. I guess there is a whole engineering division for tooth technology.
I hope the steel is good quality.

Dewalt came out with the first plunge cutting tip last year… Not anything new, just copied.
