Milwaukee Parachute Organizer and Bucket Organizer Wrap

Milwaukee Parachute Organizer Bag

Yesterday I posted about the new Milwaukee jobsite tech bag, and it reminded me about Milwaukee’s new parachute organizer bag and bucket tool organizer wrap.

Parachute organizers are quick-closing compartmentalized pouches, with most being sized to fit into a 5 gallon bucket for carrying around. They’re quite useful for holding larger fasteners and parts. I’ve got a sturdy Bucket Boss parachute bag ($15 via Amazon) that I use on occasion.

Milwaukee says that their new parachute organizer bags are superior to those currently on the market, thanks to how it addresses common shortfalls. Milwaukee’s parachute bag has an easy-access internal compartment, a weather-resistant and stable base that keeps the bag upright, and it is also stackable, for carrying multiple bags at once.

It also has an external zippered compartment for easy access to small hand tools, bits, and other accessories.

Milwaukee Bucket Organizer Wrap

Milwaukee is also coming out with a bucket organizer. Sadly, while Milwaukee does make (slap their name and color on) 5 gallon buckets, as included with their M12 drain snake, the bucket organizer doesn’t come with one.

So what makes this a bucket organizer wrap? Look closer at the photo, Instead of dipping inside a 5-gallon bucket, it wraps around the outside. This increases the free space inside the bucket, and also makes it possible for a lid to fit over the bucket rim.

There are zippered pockets along the wrap, for storing larger tools and loose accessories, and 30 open pockets for storing hand tools and materials for quick and easy access.

It’s made from 1680D ballistic nylon, for standing up to harsh jobsite conditions. As a bonus, the organizer wrap comes with a bucket handle wrap for a little extra comfort.

First Thoughts

I don’t think I have ever received a press release or notice about new parachute bags or bucket organizers. Most of the ones currently on the market have been out for a while, and they’re functional.

These new Milwaukee bags cost more than many competing styles, but it looks like that extra cost translates to sturdier construction.

Milwaukee’s parachute organizer looks more structured than my Bucket Boss bag, and also a bit larger. The bucket organizer isn’t the first wrap-around style I’ve seen – here’s one on Amazon for gardening tools, and another for washing your car.

I’m happy to see Milwaukee expand their line of soft tool storage bags, and would trust these to be as sturdy and versatile as their tool boxes and ball bearing tool storage products.

Have you seen these in stores yet? Bought one? What do you think?

How is the wrap around bucket organizer going to stay up if it doesn’t have something that goes over the tip lip? I know Milwaukee wouldn’t release something that doesnt work, buy im trying to see how a bunch of tools wont pull the organizer down.

It isn’t visible in the photo shown, but there’s an adjustable quick-release buckle on the belt at the top. It snugs the belt down over the reinforcing ribs found near the opening of five gallon buckets. It will be interesting to see how well that works long term. Since it can be adjusted, it can loosen over time and potentially drop the organizer.

I had the same thought, and then I took a look at a standard 5 gallon bucket to double check. All the ones I looked at had a few grooves around the top near where the reinforcement is for the handle attachment. So there should be enough structure to hold it up.

Here’s a 5-gallon bucket example that I jogged my memory with:

If it was designed properly, I would imagine that you would have to overload the pockets to where they started ripping, before the whole thing would slide down past a bucket’s ribbing.
