Nope, I’ll be fine with a list of new tools listed with a bullet point or two.

I also would rather just have a list of new tools with a brief mention of new features instead of watching through a video. Much faster. I will not be watching the release at all.

The advantage of a live event – particularly ones with many different vendors and sessions – is that you can pick and choose what you want to see. While COVID has put a halt to these – this seems like a poor substitute. As I’ve said – I may be jaded – having attended events like the IWF and Hannover Messe – and that’s compounded because I have no real need to buy new tools. Accessing the episode later on – if it has an index and allows you to fast forward – might be interesting. But spending however much time the event takes, to listen to a non-stop Milwaukee sales pitch seems like a waste of time for me. Hopefully, you will be able to glean some information from it – and boil it down for us.

Touche. That’s what sites like this are for. Relaying news without the sales pitch and tacky – and often times sometimes misleading – wording of a press release.

Milwaukee’s marketing department lays it on WAY too thick. Generally good tools spoiled by nonsense marketing gimmickery. Sad.

Even more sad is watching other companies start to copy this behaviour. Marketing departments more and more are treating consumers like morons. “2X QUIETER”, give me a break…

Milwaukee’s marketing department didn’t pioneer making claims like this; it’s been going on for a long, long time!
Sound is a very difficult thing to understand and quantify – sound pressure level has a nonlinear scale, sound can be very directional, sound “quality” is very subjective, etc., etc. Ultimately, sound or noise is a tricky thing to make a marketing claim against.

For what it’s worth, I enjoy being the filter – it’s what I do and has become a big part of ToolGuyd’s purpose over the years.

But, every year there are users who ask about NPS tickets, wishing, wanting, and hoping to be able to privy to the new tool announcements as soon as they’re made. Live-streaming becomes more popular each year.

They wouldn’t put the effort into this showing if there wasn’t a large enough audience eager to tune in.

I cannot comment about the episodes, but I know that Milwaukee Tool’s product managers and PR team have put a lot of time and effort into making the best of the situation.

As unconventional as it might sound, I hope a lot of folks tune into the episode, because that also means they’ll likely be searching for more information on high-interest tools after the fact, bringing them here to our scheduled and pending coverage.

I truly tried to watch it but it went on and on and so much of it was rehashing things we already knew.
Hard to maintain focus and watch for new info when they bury it in so much “content”

I’ll be looking for the 10 minute summary videos that follow, not tuning in to an event that consumes my evening. Any new announcements made won’t hit the shelves for weeks or months, so who cares if I know today or tomorrow?

I’ll watch if I can remember to tune in. I’m very curious about what is possibly heading to market. You can look at it two ways: half full or half empty. It might provide insight for future purchases of the tool you really want/need or prevent you from buying a tool of another brand if they currently offer a similar tool that Milwaukee does not currently offer.

Just finished watching the first Milwaukee pipeline episode. I’m very split on what I just saw. Let me start off with saying WOW! I actually really enjoyed the presentation of the new products. The hosts great, they were very excited and passionate about the upcoming new tools, as well as current tools.

Here’s where I’m a bit throw off though, in the beginning, they mentioned 12 new m12 tools, and 20 m18 tools were being released for 2020 alone. Great, but they definitely did not showcase all those tools. To make matters slightly worse, they showcased a lot of tools that had already been announced. Include m12 brushless oscillating tool, and hatchet, M18 D handle impact, and a bunch of other tools that I specifically recall thinking “but we’ve already heard about this”

Of course they did announce some new things such as a m18 Fuel oscillating saw! Compact m18 impact wrenches, 3 new vacuums, a m12 pin nailer, and more.

Oh, and did I mention there was a guest appearance by Rob Robillard of A concord Carpenter/ Toolbox Buzz!? So cool that they chose him to introduce the new fuel oscillating tools.

I was seriously hoping to see all tools that hadn’t been announced yet, but maybe they will appear in upcoming episodes.

For those who are unsure if they feel like watching it, skipping it wouldn’t hurt anything. I’ll stick around for at least one other episode (featuring the hand tools) I may or may not watch others.

      Cheers

I want the mini chainsaw (but I absolutely do not need it) and the m12 box vac would be -ish useful in that only carrying around one battery system would mean it’s way more likely to stay in the truck (and have a charged battery)

But there really didn’t seem to be much useful (to me anyway)

Did they tease an upcoming update for the M18 sawzall (and holehawg) towards the end of the cordless segment or am I misinterpreting that quick mention after the bit about the new metal cutting circular saw?

I enjoyed watching it, I thought the men did a good job. They do work for Milwaukee. That vacuum looks interesting,
but being retired probably out of my price range. I will watch the next one might find something else I got to have. I will try to think up a project to build and need a new tool…
