Misleading at best by Acme to suggest “select Dewalt tools 20% off” when it’s only applicable to lasers. Clickbate.
As per usual, HD knows how to package and price real deals – always some significant values in their daily deal sales. This morning I picked up teh Milwaukee 1/2″ deep 6-point 8mm – 36mm impact socket set for $147 with tax. I don’t think there’s probably a better deal out there for such an expansive, no miss set. Got to hand it to MW for putting out some very well designed, well priced and useful mechanic’s tools.

There are 10 different categories. “Save 10-20% on select…” would have been clearer, but you’d still have to click-through to see the breakdown. “up to 20%” seems more concise. Either way, I wrote out the categories to save everyone the click.

Clickbait indeed! But lots of vendors do it when they have Ho-Hum kinds of deals. ToolUp is advertising their Dad’s Day sale – as “Up to 60% Off” – but they don’t say off of what – and until you add many items to your cart it’s hard to know what the real price is going to be. ToolsPlus – says save up to $99 on Milwaukee tools – that deal is also similarly vague. And – I suppose if I look over some other recent emails, I can find other examples of promotions that are more come-ons than really good deals.
fred
While I was writing this – an email arrived from ToolNut. The same sort of advertising. This time it proclaims, “save up to $100 off Makita”. But it does show some examples – and a Makita kit that they claim to be $400 off.
Stuart
I saw that too. “Save $400!!” And then you click through and the price is $399.
What they and Makita don’t tell you is that it’s the same holiday season “special buy” 8-tool combo that’s regularly $399. https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/makita-xt801x1-cordless-power-tool-combo-kit-deal/%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E
This is a standard sales practice to get you looking.
Amazon regularly has “save up to 20%” promotional pages and the like.
They all do this because it works – it gets you too look.

It seems HD has had many more power tool “deals” on SBOTD than usual in the last couple months. Many are repeats. I’m feeling overloaded and can’t figure out what’s a good deal or not.
Keep in mind, if you need Ryobi batteries, the Ryobi days promo is often a better deal than what they have on here for tool-only deals. E.g on their brushless OMT you can get it for $150 or spend an extra $50 and get three batteries.
Scotty.
Don’t have an immediate need for many power tools. The only thing I’m holding out for right now is a smokin deal on Milwaukee job site fan, either M12 or M18.
fred
Toolbarn is doing a $75 off on $350, $50 off on $250 and $25 off on $150 for Milwaukee tools.
So, if you bought both M18 and M12 fans together ($99 + $79) the total should be $153 instead of $178

I have my eye on these currently. Unfortunately the ACME sale only hits the wrench…lol
DWOAS8HT, DCV501HB, DCF513B, DCN623D1 or DCN623B. I dont need batts, but will consider the kits if I can get a deal.
Hoping my local dewalt rep has a HD day coming up soon.

Can I get any thoughts on this Dewalt 20v tool? Being a farmer, I may have more utility for this than most. I just searched for “backpack” on Toolguyd and did not find any sprayer posts come up though perhaps I just lack good searching skills.

I don’t know anything about it yet, but will see what I can find out. But as it’s not yet available, I might not learn anything you haven’t already seen or read.
This might be the type of tool to buy or preorder and then return if it doesn’t meet your satisfaction.
Tom
Thank you. I did pre-order it this morning along with pre-ordering the 20” 60v chainsaw with the new 15 20v ah (5 ah for 60v) battery. I guess I was just surprised how many battery operated brands there were for backpack sprayers without much discussion that is had personally viewed on them in forums. But this may just be my ignorance showing as they could all be very new. Thank you again! I love your content and this community!
