Olight Father's Day Sale 2023 Product Hero

Olight has kicked off their Father’s Day sale with several new flashlights and promos.

This time around, it looks like there are two new models and one or two new color options.

Olight Seeker 4 Mini LED Flashlights

The Seeker 4 Mini is one of the new models, featuring a cool or neutral white light and UV emitter, IPX8 and waterproof rating.

It looks to be especially compact and is powered with a customized 18350 battery that charges via the magnetic tailcap charger.

Olight Warrior Mini 2 Flashlight in Lava Camo Red Color

Next, there’s a Warrior Mini 2 in red lava camo color scheme.

The Warrior Mini 2 is taller than less-featured 18650-powered lights, but slimmer than lights engineered for 21700-sized Li-ion batteries.

Here are my then-early thoughts on the Olight Warrior Mini 2 – Olight Warrior Mini 2 Flashlight Review.

Olight i3E EOS LED Flashlight in Blue Free with Purchase Gift

The Seeker 4 Mini and Warrior Mini 2 aren’t really suited for my needs/EDC wants, but then I spotted this i3E EOS in blue.

The i3E is a fantastic mini 1x AAA LED flashlight, and good introduction to Olight.

If you’ve ever placed an order from Olight before, you’ll find this in your shopping cart as a free gift item. And if it’s all you might be considering, it costs $5 to ship.

You can buy the i3E anytime, usually for $9.95 at Amazon or elsewhere, or login to Olight and get this blue model for $5 ($0 plus $5 shipping).

Olight Javelot Mini LED Flashlight in Blue

Lastly, there’s also a new Javelot Mini, in blue.

I have been using the new Olight Javelot 2 Pro a lot this month, mainly to scan the tree line when watering the plans at night. I spotted a pair of deer in the weeds, and so I scan the area at a distance to ensure there aren’t any surprises.

The Javelot 2 Pro is nice, but it’s a bit large, and not very pocketable.

The new Javelot Mini grabbed my attention with its small size, high output, and long throw distance. It’s powered by a 2040 mAh 18500-sized battery, which is new to me.

Upon seeing this, I dropped my Olight contact a note and requested a test sample. There are a bunch of new-to-me features aside from the stout form factor, such as a vibrating low battery alert.

Olight also says this is their first EDC flashlight with a round light source, “providing for a less harsh, more balanced beam.”

This is going to be an interesting one to test.

If any of these models strike your fancy, check out the flash sale. If they don’t, next month’s might have different product introductions and deals.

I was going to skip the flash sales for a month, but the Javelot Mini pulled me right back in. If this delivers a Javelot Pro-like experience but in much smaller and lighter package, it’ll be a winner.

It’s priced higher than my favorite Olight EDC models – the Baton 3 and Baton 3 Pro, but looks to have a step up in features. The Mini is also available in black and olive green.

Olight Father's Day Sale 2023

Olight’s Father’s Day flash sale ends at 11:49pm ET on 6/8/2023.

Olight fans know the drill – supplies of some of the models are limited, and there are a couple of “free with purchase” tiers.

The flashlights mentioned above are the ones I found most interesting, but there are a couple of others, such as a new O’Pen Mini pen. Contrary to what I had assumed, this one is just a pen.

It looks like Olight is diving deeper into the EDC space; this sale also includes a new utility knife, folding knife, mini utility tool, and pocket tool bundle.

Looking at these photos don’t give me a sense of size. I might be more inclined to make an impulse buy, if there were images of a hand holding the flashlight for perspective.

There are a lot more photos on the Olight site.

None of these are really an impulse buy, aside from the keychain-sized i3E.

But you’re right; I’ll add in a couple more images.

Years ago, like now, Olight sales usually had 2-3 “featured” products which have 40% or more savings; everything else is 10-15% off or just regular price.

Where the difference is between these days and years ago, these days, it is almost always to introduce new products. Like a “mini”, or version 2, or something totally new. Years ago new stuff was much less frequent. Most sales would feature 2-3 items that were on their current catalog, but at great savings…40% or more. New products were 2-3 per year.

I guess competition and keeping up with them has resulted in a multitude of new products, not just Olight, but competitors are introducing so much more new products compared to years ago.

Yikes, they’re now putting review snippets (which I’m sure are totally honest made by real humans under their own free will)
right under the product info for each featured item on their sales page.

I’ve acquired enough coins from spinning the freebie wheel to advance the Silver level of the obuy club. I now get access to the sales one day early.

I sometimes wonder what it would be like to transcend to the Legend level. To never be wanting of Light. To receive the admiration and affirmation of all those strangers in the facebook group… I can almost feel the enlightenment warming my body (or maybe my 2000 lumen light turned on in my pocket again). The cult is real.

That’s the thing, Legend level doesn’t get you to “never wanting of light.” To get there, you have to be constantly seeking light, for yourself, to give as gifts, or for institutions.

Are there any Legend level shoppers?

I’d imagine that individuals with that kind of budget would gravitate more towards boutique brands, such as Muyshondt, where you’re buying an “electric torch” with “power cells” rather than a flashlight.

“Vibrates three times every ten seconds” looks like a great way to help with battery depletion. Maybe that uses virtually no power tho.

Vibration motors have advanced over the years due to cell phone and smartphone implementation. I’m sure they sip power, or at least a fraction of what the emitter requires.

I’ve done the i3E deal a few times now. I use mine perhaps 10x my big flashlights. Out of all my tools, it probably wins the bang-for-the-buck prize.
