ToolGuyd sends out emails every day to those who want to check out the latest headlines in their inbox, and also once every Monday for weekly subscribers. This is all done automatically.
It’s been a while since I had sent out a custom newsletter, but I go to working on the template these past few days, and sent it out earlier this morning.

The newsletter focused on our Dewalt FlexVolt coverage, since a lot of work went into those stories, and because I’ve seen a lot of confusion about the tools and battery pack.
Here’s a link to the newsletter.
Getting the format to display cleanly, or relatively cleanly, in both desktop and mobile devices was a challenge, and I do plan on refining the look and layout over time – just like I try to do with the main ToolGuyd site.
It was a lot harder than I thought. You can ask Ben how crazy it’s made me these past few days, and how crazy I made him, with many multiple test emails and A vs. B feedback questions.
I’ve started planning out the next few newsletters, which should include more unique writing, rather than simply pointing you back to the site. I’m subscribed to a few newsletters, and usually like it when newsletters aren’t simply a bunch of images and links.
On the other hand, I do like “here’s what’s going on” or “here’s what you might have missed” newsletters, because it does keep me up to date with magazines and websites I enjoy but don’t visit often.

If you’d like to receive ToolGuyd’s newsletters, Subscribe Here.
You opt for any or all of the subscription preferences. Daily and weekly emails go out at around 11am ET, and the frequency of the new newsletter has not yet been determined. It will probably be sent out once, maybe sometimes twice a week. Or maybe once a month if there’s little to say.
That all said, what do you like to see in email newsletters? If you’re reading this, chances are that you’re fully caught up with our recent posts, and so you’d like to see something more than links to recent coverage.
Tell me what you’d be interested in seeing, and I promise to keep an open mind. Sneak peeks? Early review snippets?

No. But I’m not absolutely certain I signed up. But I would have. I think.

If you used a service with deliverability stats, you already would know who got it, and also who opened it.
