Hot Deal: Ridgid 18V Brushless Hammer Drill & Impact Driver + Something Else for $100 Off

Ridgid 18V Gen5X Brushless Hammer Drill and Impact Driver Combo Kit

Earlier this week we talked about Home Depot’s holiday combo kit promo, which gives you a $100 or $150 discount when you buy a certain cordless combo kit plus one other item.

One of the hottest deals is a Milwaukee M18 Fuel drill and impact driver kit, for two reasons. First, Milwaukee’s M18 Fuel tools – their most premium offerings, rarely go on sale. Second, that was Milwaukee’s latest and greatest Fuel tools. Buying the combo with  lowest priced accessory resulted in the best deal.

A number of readers mentioned how good the Ridgid deal was, and I definitely do agree.

Ridgid has just came out with a new 18V Gen5X brushless hammer drill and an impact driver, and the just-hit-the-market 2-tool combo kit (R9205) is eligible for Home Depot’s promo.

The price? $279.

Ridgid 18V Light Bulb Worklight

And when you add this X3 jobsite light console (R869B) to your order, you’ll see the $100 promo discounted applied to your cart.

This is not the only tool eligible for the $100 savings, it’s merely the cheapest. After this one, there’s a charger, and then you’re in add-on tool and accessory territory.

Update: The list of eligible tools have changed. Go to the promo page, add the combo to your cart, and then choose from the list of qualifying tools.

To pick a different tool shop through the below Deal Info link, select the Ridgid combo, and then you’ll see a wide selection of eligible offerings. There are add-on tools, smaller cordless tool kits, battery packs, and other tools you can add to get the savings.

In this example, it’s $279 for the drill and impact driver kit, plus $39 for the add-on light, minus $100, and you get the whole lot for $218 plus tax.

$218 for Ridgid’s latest and greatest brushless drill, brushless impact driver, and (2) Li-ion batteries, a charger, carrying case, and a worklight.

The worklight is pretty neat by itself. It ships with a CFL light, but might work with other standard sized light bulbs, including maybe some LED ones. It’s a very strange, but intriguing worklight.

Update: There’s an even cheaper eligible add-on, Ridgid’s X4 radio! Thanks to Garyn (check out his comment below) for the tip!

Ridgid 18V X4 Radio

This teeny tiny jobsite radio is $29.97, which means you can buy this and the brushless combo kit for about $209 ($208.97 to be exact), plus tax.

We’re told that the new Gen5x LED worklight also works, and it’s priced at just $20, resulting in an even lower bundle pricing.

Update 2: It appears that Home Depot has made a lot of the least expensive items ineligible for the promotion. However, there are still quite a few under-$100 add-on tools that qualify for the bundle discount. If your preferred qualifying add-on tool or kit is under $100, you can verify the discount by adding the combo and eligible bundle tool to your online cart.

These bundles maximizes your savings, but perhaps there’s a different Ridgid tool you’d like to buy with the cordless kit to get the $100 savings? Here are some recent Ridgid 18V new tool previews, with most being part of the promo.

Just a point I noticed, you don’t have to buy the same brand as the combo kit. You can buy the ridgid set and the ryobi 4v screwdriver. Also, not all eligible tools are listed when you select the combo kit. For example, the ridgid radio (the small one for $29.97) triggers the discount.

Thanks, I didn’t realize that! I added a note for readers to be sure to read through your comment.

I was under the impression that only those listed as eligible Tier 2 tools would trigger the $100 or $150 savings. I can understand that the lists might be filtered in such a way because most people buying Ridgid 18V tools will want additional Ridgid 18V tools or accessories.

But I wonder why not all Ridgid 18V tools are listed as eligible add-ons. Strange.

The website seems to limit what is eligible, but in store does not.

I used this promo a bunch of times last year and never ran into anything that didnt trigger the discount in store.

Do you think they will release more x5 stand alone tools before black friday? seems like lineup is still a little sparse and also the tools from the big x5 kit cannot be bought separately like the circ saw or recip saw

I didn’t catch any mention of torque. I wonder if it’s similar to the Makita oil-pulse tech? Milwaukee and Ridgid ALWAYS boast about their semi-trailer-pulling torque levels, so something is different here. Quieter impacts do have utility to certain users no doubt.

It may be off topic and forgive me for interrupting your thread if it is but i was looking to buy into the Bosch system based on several factors and was wondering if Lowes or even HD(as they carry Bosch products online) would offer something similar to these deals in the above mentioned format?

      Not that I know of.

But, if you wait 2-3 more weeks, Bosch’s holiday promo will reveal itself. It might be $25 off $100, $40 off $200, or something in between. Not all products are eligible, but a lot of cordless stuff usually is.

I bought this at my Home Depot and they would not allow me to mix brands . I tried to get the new Dewalt Bluetooth radio with this set and it wouldn’t work . Even the store manager couldn’t get it done. So I bought an extra pack of batteries to get the discount. On another note I’m pretty sure the 2,250 inch pounds is over inflated. I have the fuel generation two impact driver at 1,800 inch lbs and it beats this easily. My “baby Hulk” Makita XDT09 does too even though it only has 1,550 inch lbs of torque.

Hi, I attempted to purchase the R9205 tool kit at Home Depot and they don’t offer the same deal that is mentioned above. To get the $100 discount you need to purchase another qualifying item of $100. If you purchase a qualifying item for $29.99, that is the bulk of the discount. Unfortunately I went to Home Depot and tried this based on this article and was turned away at the register on all the days, Black Friday.

When this deal was posted, everything in the above post was true.

Since then, it seems that a couple of the lower priced tools have become ineligible for the additional savings.

But… if you go to the Home Depot deal page, there are still PLENTY of add-on tools under $100.

They seem to be following the fine print to the letter in-store, but online, when you add this $279 combo and an eligible add-on for under $100, you still get the full $100 discount off the order.

Right now, I’m able to add the combo to my cart, and qualifying items that cost less than $100, and the full $100 discount is still being applied to the order. You could do the same and opt for in-store pickup.

I just checked this today, 11/28/15, but the terms of the deals might change again.
