You can’t buy Ridgid’s 18V cordless track saw now.
A reader – thank you Ross! – wrote in asking about this:
I’ve been in the Ridgid ecosystem for just under 20 years and really like their tools. I had been on the fence about their track saw and just last week I went to look at the price because I saw the saw on Direct Tools and was curious what the price was at Home Depot.

It was completely sold out and by the time I got back to DT it was sold out there as well. Have you heard anything that they are already discontinuing it? Reviews seemed good for what the saw is at its price point but maybe it performed worse than expected?
I checked with my Ridgid/Ryobi contact to see if the saw was discontinued, and this is what they said:
It is not being discontinued, but it is currently out of stock online. We have our supply chain and product teams working to get these units inventoried at THD.com.
That’s pretty clear. Officially, it has not been discontinued, and in simple terms they’re waiting for a restock.
From what I have seen, a lot of products sold exclusively on Home Depot’s website tend to go through batch ordering. That could be what happened here. Maybe Home Depot sold through the inventory faster than expected, and it’s going to take time before the next big reorder comes in.
There’s one story to keep in mind, and I think it’s an outlier. Ridgid launched a cordless miter saw in 2016. In early 2018, readers asked if it was discontinued. I asked my Ridgid/Ryobi contact at the time, and was told that it was “temporarily out of stock.” The saw wasn’t available again until it was reintroduced in 2021, and it’s still available.

Also, Home Depot has clearanced the Delta-made Ridgid table saw with folding stand. They very clearly have a “clearance” badge.
With the holiday shopping season less than 2 months away, maybe TTI’s factories are working on higher priorities right now.
The official word is that it’s not being discontinued and that Ridgid is working on the restock.
Until we hear or see signs to suggest otherwise, Ridgid’s track saw is expected to come back in stock.

S? Are you related to Q?

Short answer: I removed it to protect a sales rep.
I asked, they gave approval to use the images, and after double-checking I worked late-night to have a post scheduled for 8am. I checked my messages and read they took down their own social media posts. I promptly took my post down at around 8:40am, to ensure it didn’t cause them any (further?) trouble.
I also removed the auto Facebook post and 2 reader comments on other posts, one that had a link to my removed post, and one that referenced a YouTube video.

Thanks for the clarification. I came back to drool over them again and they were gone. Suspected something was up. I appreciate it.

Thanks respectful. Don’t want to get reps in hot water.
Do you agree that a tool stack/storage system that allows you to pull out the drawer like its storage box to take with you? Like fasteners, bits, blades storage…?
