Ridgid R4514 Table Saw with Rolling Stand Home Depot Pro Black Friday 2019 Deal

Ridgid has a new 10″ jobsite table saw with roller stand as part of Home Depot’s PRO Black Friday 2019 sales event. It’s worth a closer look for anyone looking to buy a new portable table saw this holiday shopping season.

To start off, its design is quite different than previous models.

This is last year’s special model, which was priced at $199 last year.

This is the Ridgid R4513, which I would describe as a mature product. It was featured as a Black Friday deal last year, and in previous years, at $299.

Ridgid R4514 Table Saw with Rolling Stand Home Depot Pro Black Friday 2019 Deal

Here’s the new R4514 again. The most striking difference to me is that the new model has a somewhat open chassis structure, with no plastic paneling on two sides of the saw’s roll cage frame.

The next biggest observation is that the fence rails extend beyond the table top surface, and by quite a bit. This gives you greater rip capacity without having to make the entire saw physically larger. I don’t quite know how I feel about this. I’m the kind of person that will snag extended parts, but I guess it should be fine. This probably isn’t the best saw to toss in the back of a pickup truck, at least unsupported, since other items might slide into the protruding rails.

  • 10″ blade
  • 5000 RPM motor
  • Maximum cutting depth of 3-1/2″ at 90°, 2-1/4″ at 45°
  • Rip capacity: 30″ right, 12″ left
  • 6ft power cord

Price: $299

What do you think about Ridgid’s new table saw design?

Other Table Saw Deals to Consider

Dewalt DW745S Portable Table Saw with Stand

The Dewalt DW745S 10″ jobsite table saw is smaller, but personally I like that it’s a more traditional design. Dewalt’s fences are also quite superbly easy to adjust.

Still waiting for the Dewalt DWE7491RS to come down in price. Lowes droppd it from $599 to $549 about a week and a half ago but hoping for $499 like last year or is it wishful thinking?

OK will do, thanks. I got an ad in yesterday’s paper and it showed $549 from tomorrow to 11/27. Not sure if that’s the same ad.

Don’t forget you can buy a 10% coupon off eBay for $1.99 usually. I have used them several times for big purchases and no issues.

I just looked at those cards on Ebay, it’s for purchase not at Lowes like at Home Depot, Ace Hardware, etc., correct? According to the stipulations on one photo, you can use it at Lowes but the description on ebay says Lowes competitors only and not at Lowes.

That could be because they’re either used, copied, redeemed already, or otherwise invalid.

That would be the metabo hpt multivolt. Only battery saw that has the advantage of using a 10” blade. Also the only battery saw that can be plugged in also. Not sure about the stand though

If you buy in store can you apply for a menards 11% match?

I’m sorry, but I don’t know. There are no Menards stores around here so it’s not something I have ever tried.

If you have a Menards in your area, it may work.

I know HD used to honor physical % off Lowes coupons, which you then surrendered, but it has been a long time that I saw anybody use that at checkout. ( or that I have seen a Lowes coupon for that matter )

I’d give your local HD a call, ask the manager on duty or assistant store manager … tell him or her you are comparing sales, weighing between two products, Menards has a coupon, … will they honor it if you come in and buy this Ridgid saw today.

Yes. https://www.homedepotrebates11percent.com/ and fill in the form. I have never had one rejected. I specifically shop HomeDepot when mendards has 11%, just for the rebate. Menards 11% seems to be running a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off system as of recently, so just time your purchases like that.

Yeah I do that all the time since I’m close but I wasn’t sure since it’s a screaming deal if they would honor the 11% rebate. If I order online I get 5% back this quarter

Protip at Menards: If you buy things in one week and they run the 11% rebate promo the next week, ask at the service desk (the desk by the checkouts, not the rental/returns deck) for the “11% price adjustment” form (or similar). You can get the 11% rebate applied to any non-sale/non-rebate items you purchased the week before the 11% rebate started, so long as you have your original receipt to mail in.

Similarly, if you buy an item in one week at Menards and it goes on a promo with rebate the next week, ask one of the people at the service desk what they can do for you.

Also, I’ve been burned by HD’s 11% Menards match (HD never sent my rebate, and I forgot to follow up), but Menards owns the company that processes their rebates, and in the course of thousands of dollars of rebates from Menards I never had them reject a rebate, lose one, forget to send one, etc etc… Unlike most 3rd-party mail-in rebate processing companies, Menards is very consumer friendly, and tends to give you the benefit of the doubt if you submit a rebate a few days late, lose one and need to get it re-issued, or so forth.

I moved away from the Midwest a year ago and really miss Menards. They are very, very, VERY focused on customer service, usually had better prices than HD & Lowe’s (often even before playing their sale/promo game), train their people well (not hard to find a person at Menards who can help you, and who knows their department well) and seem much more targeted at the consumer/DIY market than at the contractor.

Many of their store brands are of mediocre quality (you have to learn which of their store brands are good/better/best, where the “best” is basically on part with a lower level name brand product, and the “good” is Harbor Freight throwaway quality), but they do refunds/exchanges for those, and that’s the one big negative thing I have to say about Menards… That and the ecommerce side of their web site stinks.

Is the base wider? ( and thus more stable )
Or is that an optical illusion?

I have the more original model with two wheels and extending handle. It has been a good saw for my periodic projects. I have been eyeing these, with their stand, but will settle for buying a universal folding stand instead.

Interesting to see Ridgid went from tube frame with panels to make the box, to a plastic tub, back to metal tubing. Not sure that I like the open tubing visually, or at least at first glance it seems like cost cutting …. but it actually may have several benefits: a better view of things underneath to empty a stuck item in the chute box, easier to do a blade change, easier to blow the dust out, …

I had the older model for probably 10+ years and the only problem is I loaned it to my brother who rather than wheel it around had a friend help him carry it by the top and broke the plastic feet holding it to the frame. So hopefully the metal tubes help idiot proof this a little better.

I know it’s been mentioned last year but a year has passed, any experiences, good or bad, with the Skilsaw SPT99-12? I was contemplating picking that one up instead of the Dewalt DWE7491RS but from what I’ve read, the Dewalt is more reliable (but that was from last year’s comments both here and other forums.)

Is the dewalt worth the extra 200 dollars to the average home owner? And thats on sale at 499 btw. We had our eye on it but noticed this new for this year model from ridgid? Any advice on accuracy of either saw?

Dewalt makes very good table saws. Ridgid’s are typically decent for the money. I’ve used Dewalt saws and like them a lot. If I were shopping for myself, I’d budget for a Dewalt. With a tighter budget, I’d settle on a smaller saw.

Well, I had the Dewalt DWE7491RS in my cart just when the price came down to $549 and just checked, it’s at $499 and just bought it to be picked up tomorrow. Thanks Stuart and everyone for your input. At the same time when I was mumbling about my 745 being too narrow, my wife got me a Makita track saw since she saw it in my cart on Amazon.
