Rockler Bench Cookies Plus With Risers

As a follow-up to their immensely popular Bench Cookie Work Grippers, Rockler introduced a new Plus edition, and a more stylish home edition. If you have signed up for Rockler’s free catalog, you may have already seen these new Bench Cookies on the front page of this month’s catalog.

Bench Cookie Plus Work Grippers and Optional Risers

Rockler Bench Cookie Plus with Riser

These new cookies are designed to mate with risers or risers XL, which elevate the cookies above a work surface. Each riser can be sandwiched between two Bench Cookies to achieve a very stable 3-cookie height, or used with one cookie and a 3/4″ hole to achieve a 2-cookie height. The Risers XL can be used to achieve a 2 or 3-cookie height, and can also fit 3/4″ bench dog holes for a stable base.

Bench Cookie For the Home

These new cookies have a more stylish appearance, and can be used to steady or or raise a variety of items in the home – cutting boards, glass, laptops, A/V and home entertainment equipment, and more. As with the other Bench Cookies, these spacers/grippers are 3″ in diameter and 1″ thick.

I bought the original blue set when they first came out. I agree they are handy but a certain amount of constant downward pressure is needed to keep the piece secure. Looking at their new picture of the circular saw with the new risers just spells disaster in my book.

Yeah, that doesn’t look all that stable to me.
Seems better to just stack a few on top of each other.

I don’t know… this is one of those things that we’ll just have to wait and see about. I keep flip-flopping over both sides of the fence. Yes, it does look flimsy, but at the same time they also look to provide a few advantages that could make them pretty stable.
