Rockler Bench Cookie Cones Workpiece Finishing Supports

Rockler’s Bench Cookies are simple but handy workpiece grippers and spacer supports. These new Bench Cookie Cone attachments are used with Bench Cookies to raise and support workpieces while they’re being finished with stains, paints or varnishes.

Bench Cookie Cones are designed to support workpieces with minimal surface contact and shouldn’t mar soft or delicate materials.

These add-ons are sold in packs of 4 and cost about $5 per pack, not including Bench Cookies. In comparison, Painters Pyramids can be purchased in packs of 10 for ~$7, although I would imagine that a Bench Cookie Cone setup would be far sturdier.

Forget the bench cookie cones, that’s one cool looking box!

For something that’s likely to get varnish or piant dripped on it – why subject your bench cookies to this abuse.
How about the drywall screws protruding through scraps of plywood that we use?

I have been using the painter’s pyramids a lot recently. At time they do slide a little, which is something you would think the bench cookie cones would prevent. However, when my workpiece slides, it hasn’t been the pyramid sliding on the work surface, but the workpiece sliding on the cone (sliding at the point). With this issue, the grippiness of the cookie cones wouldn’t prevent the sliding. At ~$5.50 for 10 at my local big box store, the painter’s pyramids seem like a better value from most tasks.
