New Rockler Glue Applicator Set

Rockler Woodworking Glue Applicator Kit

GLUE! It can be a pain to work with, with all the spreading, smearing, and dispensing involved. My Titebond wood glue bottle has a pointy nozzle, requiring me to use glue spreaders anytime I want to apply more than a drop or two to a workpiece.

I have used Rockler’s silicone glue brush a couple of times, and it works well. Apparently everyone shares this opinion, as Rockler has come out with a lot of new woodworking gluing accessories in the past year and a half since the brush first came out.

The new glue applicator set is designed to spread glue straight from the bottle. All of the accessories work with Titebond 16 oz and 32 oz glue bottles, and the set also includes an empty Rockler glue bottle that can be refilled with any brand of glue.

Rockler Glue Applicator Kit Uses

Glue Applicator Set Components

  • 8 oz Rockler easy-clean glue bottle with Titebond 16/32 oz threads
  • Standard pointy nozzle – works with Titebond 16/32 oz bottles
  • Mortise glue nozzle – wide and flat to reach into slots, grooves, and mortises
  • Polypropylene glue funnel – attaches to Titebond 16/32 oz threads
  • Glue line centering attachment – used to apply a bead at the center of board edges up to 1-1/8″ wide
  • Silicone brush applicator – great for spreading small areas and is easy to clean
  • Glue roller applicator – wide rippled surface is great for spreading glue over larger areas and is also easy to clean
  • Cleaning brush – flexible wire handle and double-ended with soft bristles on one side and stiff bristles on the other

Price: $20

Available Separately

  • 8 oz glue bottle with roller: $9
  • Standard glue spouts with caps (2): $2
  • 8 oz glue bottle with standard spout: $3.50
  • 16 oz glue bottle with standard spout: $4

First Impression

There are plenty of glue bottle accessories and spreading products already on the market, but it’s nice to see a sort of all-in-one set. With Rockler, you can usually be sure that you’re getting something good.

The kit looks handy, the parts are all made from relatively easy to clean materials, and the $20 price seems reasonable. In case you cannot use all of the components that come with the kit, some of the attachments and accessories are available separately.

Overall, this looks to be a nice product line expansion from Rockler.

I love rockler’s older squeeze bottles. I use them exclusively for finish. It’s so much nicer to squeeze poly from a bottle directly onto the surface and quickly close it up than it is to open a can, have the finish start oxidizing, dip a brush into it or pour it into another container, and hope that nothing drips on the floor from the brush as you move it to your piece.

I have tried all the other glue bottles and gave up on using aftermarket glue accessories. Glue lasts longer if you just buy small containers and use them directly. Mine would dry in the roller bottle because it would take me over a year to use 8oz of glue.

That being said, these are superior to what’s on the market because the opening is so much wider and therefore much easier to clean.

I will be eyeing this for poly, both because of the funnel and the wider mouth.

I go through a lot of their current line of squeeze bottles, but I ended up saving money overall because it is cheaper to buy a new bottle per pint than losing the last 1/4 of a pint of finish due to it drying out early. I also use a lot less finish per application and it’s easier to dillute.

If they come out with a 4oz or 2oz glue bottle, I will definitely be using it for glue as well.

These are great for caulking tubes too. Unlike some of the other available purpose-made things to save caulking tubes, these are much more affordable (and work better).

Good link. Didn’t know these existed but definitely think it would be nice to keep things from drying out

    Hello,
Is it possible to procure the Roller Head Applicator on its own in quantity?
I have the bottle available in my country so can save on the freight & don’t want the Biscuit Applicator as this is for a finished product application.
If you feel that the enquiry is not of your line of business or as a retailer or your costs will negate the entire order, if you could please direct me to your manufacturer? A favor to him will be a valuable commodity.
I am awaiting replies from a number of manufacturers in other countries & would appreciate a speedy reply that I can achieve my manufacturing dead-lines.
    Many thanks
    Darryl

Not that I know of, but you can try contacting Rockler – they might be willing to make a special accommodation for very large orders.

Sorry, I don’t. I could only point you towards their general customer service (http://www.rockler.com/customer-service/support/). I have come across other glue rollers, but nothing too close to the one above that snaps onto glue bottles.

Might Peachtree’s roller (http://www.ptreeusa.com/glue_products.htm), model 1272, do the trick? It’s regularly priced at $6, but also comes with a bottle. If Rockler cannot accommodate your request, Peachtree might be able to.

Do you have a New Zealand agent for your applicator systems?
