This looks awesome! Hopefully a taller rolling shop stool will be next.

New releases like this make me really wish I could listen in on some of Ryobi’s product planning meetings.

This looks great, as someone who has mostly M18 I hope their red cousins follow suit. Surprised with all their auto focus they haven’t

Ryobi makes cool stuff, I’m more and more intrigued by battery adapters especially for something that doesn’t draw a bunch of power where I’d be worried about the electronics. Feels like they could stuff a lot of sensors in that stem space

One of the nice things about Ryobi is how (relatively) inexpensive it is to get onto their platform during their free tool sales.

To add to this, check out https://www.directtoolsoutlet.com. They are the TTI’s outlet for factory reconditioned and factory blemished tools, mostly for Ryobi (18v and 40v) and Ridgid.

I have had good luck here, and you can find even better deals if you have a Direct Tools store near you.

It’s easily the easiest second system to buy in to that opens a whole world of new tools for inexpensive prices. They had a lawnmower, blower and string whipper deal for $400 that runs on 18v that I got because I wanted a electric mower and I’ve added some quick inexpensive tools now that I have a couple of batteries.

I was a Milwaukee guy first but just wanted some cheap cordless lights and sanding tools. Got in in their 4ah+2ah+2ah batteries + charger for $89-99 over the holidays and I’m very satisfied. i got their gooseneck magnifying lens light & 900 lumen light and fan and the swivel heads and clamps are really great features for like $30-$35 for tool-onlys is great.

I’ve been impressed with how low the fan & lights run. No issues with batteries so far & I’m in central Florida and leave these outside & in the garage regularly where hitting 90s with 100% humidity is normal. Only been like 6 months ownership so far tho

the M18 line has been a real let down I had all M18 and Festool cordless tools and I have been selling off all my M18 stuff, the last straw was 2 more 8.0 batteries that only last 4 minutes in my string trimmer and blower.

to replace the batteries its 400 plus tax, I replaced them on Tuesday with a string trimmer and blower combo with another 40v battery (I have a chainsaw and mower that are 3-4 years old) for 270

they work great, trimmer is lighter and better balanced and the blower feels a little heavier or maybe the handle is just at a strange angle.

If they had an extension section, you could throw a sleeping bag on it. Sleep in the box of your truck, under the topper. You might want locking casters for that application.

I don’t think you’d need locking casters, if it’s anything like my creeper any small nut or bolt should be enough to stop it from rolling around.

Stu- I had a similar thought to your closing line. Ryobi seems like it would be a really interesting place to be an engineer or product designer. I’m frequently surprised by their new releases. I’m hoping they have a good sale this summer because I could use a few more batteries and there are a couple of tools I’d like to pick up as well.

I thought, ok 400lbs…thats enough for a neighbor I know! But then the mechanism looks like guillotine…those supports look janky. I mean, I want something that says, “not collapsing on you or your hands anytime-positive lock and solid supports”.
I have one of those collapsing miter stand-dollies and I hate it. Takes solid effort to open AND pull up. And watch where you hold it!
Maybe if Ryobi made a shop-bot that would fetch tools, clean spills and stuff, have magnet-sweep to get that screw that bounces to ??? …

My thought exactly. Who wasn’t hoping you could drive it around?

It would be ridiculous of course, and not improve it’s function, but if anyone would do it, Ryobi would.

Home Depot site says up to 400lbs.

Could that mean in certain positions the load capacity changes or is that normal wording?

For $100, you can get a creeper and a rolling stool with storage. I do like the look and attachments on the Ryobi, but only if closing mechanism was rock solid, with safety features to prevent collapse and pinch potential. For me, safety before convenience.

I don’t see any problem with pinch points, unless the whole seat collapses. If you’re that worried about it, you can always put a cement block under the seat! You have a 400# capacity.. Hopefully their not referring to British currency.

I have a long torso, so my concern will be the same as all creepers, is it long enough? I hope so as I really like Ryobi Products. I share some of the other concerns as well. But I will be eager to try it out!

I want to say the HF Icon Creeper at 400 lbs capacity rolls really well. So well that I wish it had a parking brake for getting on and off of it! You could get hurt if not really careful. I’m talking about the 6 wheel model.

If that model that has a lift built in to transfer from laying down, to chair and stand up gets off the ground and works well, it should be revolutionary! TBD

At https://www.tiktok.com/@ryobitoolsusa/video/7490570805798014238 the video shows it moving up and down and looks to be minumum pinch points in the seat position, I wounder if the back will rock up when rolling in the down position. Love to see it in person. At $159 if its solid it might have to come home with me.

Also Stuart have you looked at the Ryobi tillers yet. The rear tine with 4 – 6AH batteries was 499 and now up to 599, and I have it and it is a beast, Also have the front tine tiller got it when home depot had them for 199 with a 6AH battery and I will never be going back to gas tillers.

I used the rear tine tiller for a limited time last year. Has power, just seems to eat batteries in a hurry. I will use it to till between crop rows. But not happy preparing the garden for planting. Just my opinion with the limited use so far.

Use it to till up the sand volleyball court. I have illegal modification on mine, I have bolted two more tine sets to it so it is now 5 foot wide path. I have to walk backwards with it since the front tires are worthless getting grip in the sand. I get about 30 to 40 minutes continuous tilling per 6AH battery set but im in sand so dont know how it would do in rough dirt. I get about same time with front tine one with one 6AH.

This looks like the same budget folding creeper/seat that has been sold forever by dozens of brands. It just has some green plastic added. The lights and cup are a neat idea, but they sure make it pricey compared to the generic ones. Never liked this design, as it feels flimsy.

Looks too high , most creepers the wheels are to the side, not under, so you are lower to the ground.

Although I really like Ryobi’s 18v tools, especially the price point, I really dislike how the rubber overmold grips etc tend to decompose, get sticky then eventually fall off, after warranty of course.
I don’t know what causes it, could it be the climate that I live in (tropical)? I reached out to Ryobi, but didn’t receive a satisfactory solution.

Neither my Milwaukee nor my Makita tools, which I use professionally and are as old or older, don’t have that problem.
