Ryobi’s Airstrike 18V cordless brad nailer was a big hit last year, and it looks like their newish Airstrike cordless stapler is gaining similar popularity. It’s easy to see why – these nailers feature built-in air compression technology that eliminates the need for a large bulky air compressor and consumable fuel cartridges which can be a nuisance to work with.
The new Ryobi P325 One+ Airstrike finish nailer is the third addition to the lineup, and works with 16 gauge nails.

First Thoughts
Ryobi’s Airstrike brad nailer and stapler are solid products, and there’s no reason to believe the new cordless finish nailer will deliver less of an experience. Performance should be good, and consumer response should be great.
It will be interesting to see whether the Airstrike line will continue to grow over time. Maybe we’ll see a pin nailer released in time for the winter holidays?

These nailers are a little pricey, and you can pick up a couple of nailers and decent portable compressor for less than the price of this finish nailer. But the convenience of not having to deal with bulky compressors or long air hoses is what make these nailers of high interest to DIYers and for pros with smaller jobs.

I’ve gotten a ton of use out of the ryobi brad nailer so I’m really excited that they’ve finally made a finish model. Nothing beats the convenience of just slapping in a battery and getting the job done.

Agreed. They will start from scratch. But i wish they would hurry up about it. I’ve only used dewalt nail guns are they are fantastic when you have no Air around.

I’ve been using the brad nailer for about six months – quite possibly one of the handiest tools in my bag.
While I’ve never been impressed (at all) with their drill/driver, impact driver, circular saw or recip saw, their niche tools are second to none. I’ve used their hand planer, caulk gun, and trim router for years now, and I can’t say enough about how truly useful they are.
Their 4ah batteries are cheap ($50 each if bought in pairs), and run forever.
Probably come across like a shill for Ryobi, but I’m just a satisfied customer, with 20+ years as a restoration carpenter.
I’ll probably wait a while for the price on this 16 ga gun to come down, but it will definitely be on my short list from Santa….

Ryobi price points express exactly what they are… cheap! bought the Cordless brad nailer at HD last week… the thing stopped working after 2 strings of 500 nails! maybe I was unlucky… for a second time as the circular saw i bought a few years ago was also a big deception… it was having difficulties to saw through 3/4 inch plywood! Bought an Hitachi circular saw and never had more problems. As for the nailer, I returned it and got the Ridgid Cordless brad nailers. 100$ more expensive… will test it over the week end and hopefully I get more than 500 nails out of the Ridgid on.

I cannot find Ryobi brand finishing nails for use with this gun. What are the best brand finish nails to use with this model? HD sells Porter Cable Brand. Will they be compatible without jamming. Are there Ryobi brand finishing nails available for using with this gun?

No, it’s not a pneumatic nailer, and no, you cannot use brad nails by any brand, you need 16 gauge finish nails. The product manual will tell you exactly what size and style of nails to buy.
