That fein turbo I vac for $199 is a great deal.
Stuart
Agreed!
I’ve been repeating to myself “I don’t need it,” but the deal might prove to be more convincing. I had great experiences with the larger Fein Turbo, and would have kept my test sample if it were more compact.
Chris
Any idea how it compares noise wise to standard shop vacs? I’d be interested if it’s noticeably quieter.
Bill
Chris, yes the Fein vacs are known for their quiet operation. I’ve owned one for years and it is a pleasure to use. While I don’t have the decibel numbers at hand, just go to Fein’s site and they will be listed for each of their different models and you can compare it to what you have now. I think you will be pleased with the Fein vac.
Julian Tracy
Standard (CHEAP) shop vacs are usually 85-95 decibels. The older Fein vacs and Festool vacs are usually between 58-64 decibels.
It’s not a linear scale though, so it’s a huge real-world difference.
Stuart
As Bill said, they are quieter.
According to Fein, the Turbo I has a 66 dB(A) noise rating.
Mike
Can you connect the Oneida dust deputy to the fein? I currently have that connected to large rigid vac in my tiny shop, I would love to move the rigid to the garage for space, but not sure if the fein will connect to a dust deputy. I utilize the hepa bag on the rigid combined with the Oneida DD for dust control. Would the fein be better solo or with DD?
Stuart
I didn’t, but I can find online examples if it being done.
I don’t see why it wouldn’t be possible, you’d just need a separate hose between vacuum and dust separator.
MoogleMan3
You absolutely can. The turbo I + a dust deputy into a 14 gallon eagle barrel is an excellent setup.
MoogleMan3
Much quieter than my 16 gallon dewalt and vacmaster beast shop vacs. About on par with my festool ct midi.

The offer isn’t showing on the site. It only shows the $540 price discounted to $349, not $199.
Stuart
The deal ended last night; the Fein Turbo vac promo price was a 10/23 deal of the day.

I just ordered one of the Fein vacuums. When I was in the store last time the sales guy said there vacuums would be on sale for Black Friday. Very happy to get it sooner. Should be perfect for my small garage shop. Thanks for the tip

Any idea if Ego mowers have a predictable go-on-sale period?
Josh Walters
Home Depot has “buy a flexvolt tool recieve a free 9ah flexvolt battery”
So I got another Wormdrive style 7 1/4 with battery for $240
I can either hold the tool for when my saw takes a trip off the roof or try to flip for say $200

I’ve been eyeing the Ridgid HD0300 3 gallon vac at Home Depot when I saw this . Curious why the Ridgid claims 5HP when this highly rated one says it is sub 1HP but likely has better suction.
Do they measure it in different ways?
Stuart
Peak HP isn’t a fair indicator of actual performance, it’s more of a rough comparative metric for wet/dry shop vacuums.
I haven’t looked at the specs, but I would choose the Fein over any 3 gallon home center shop vacuum.
es
5hp is bs marketing speak.

Koko The Talking Ape
Quick, I need to know RIGHT NOW if I should impulse buy the Fein Turbo 1 for $200!
Stuart
lol. I’ve been hoping it would sell out so that the same decision would be made for me.
J Money
Had the Fein in my cart at lunch and life happened so didn’t get a chance to finalize. Sale must have ended on east coast time as it was still in stock but no sale in the late evening so I guess it is money saved.
MoogleMan3
YES!
Koko The Talking Ape
I’M DOING IT!! GAAAHHHHH!
jake
Does anyone know if the fein turbo I vac includes or supports hepa filtration?
Bill
Yes it does support a 0.3 micron HEPA filter, but I’m fairly sure it does not come with one. You will need to order one separately.
Koko The Talking Ape
There is a HEPA filter for it, but as Bill says, you have to get it separately, and it costs over $100.
jake
Thank you Bill and Koko.
