Here’s a quick look at Sears’ 2014 Black Friday tool deals. Since this is ToolGuyd, I have only included the tool-related pages.
I have also gone through all the deals to create an easy-reference listing. Links will be added time-permitting, and when the deals become more relevant.
This year’s deals kick off at 6pm on Thanksgiving Day (11/27/2014). Doorbusters last until quantities run out or until 1pm 11/28/2014, whichever comes first.

Any person in management that would allow this sales flyer to be published and distributed in it’s current format has to be VERY mentally challenged. It almost seems as though Sears is intentionally trying to self destruct. Pathetic………

I’m pretty surprised by this – many of the prices you see here are currently in effect at Sears and of those, a good majority are sale prices you can take advantage of a few times throughout the year via the club or otherwise.
The only standouts are the C3 battery pack for an extra $5 off, XCP 4Ah battery for $70, the project center/drill combo, and the 263pc set + seat for $150. Not much else is ‘special’ for black friday.

I was disappointed in discovering this as well. A lot of the “Black Friday” prices are regular “sale” prices that are offered right now and other times of the year as well.
Sears’ Black Friday/Thanksgiving Weekend ads are always a pain for me to go through (I was up until 3am last night listing all the tools out), and frustrating for me as a Sears shopper. Actually, it’s been so long since I’ve been to a Sears store or ordered from their website that you could probably call me a former Sears shopper.
These flyers seem to be more about grabbing consumers’ interest and drawing their attention to core Craftsman tools and accessories.
Some items have higher prices than last year, some have lower prices, most are the exact same price.
Sears has LOST money the past couple of holiday seasons and fourth quarters in a row. This year they’re still in trouble. I hoped that they’d be changing things up this year.

Last year I think there were 3 Sears Black Friday ads. I recall the big one didn’t have a lot of tools but the other 2 did. We’ll see what else comes out. It looks like that project center and free drill are new. I couldn’t find them on the Sears website.

Perhaps I should have said better organized so all of the tools are in pages 1-14 not scattered around throughout the ad.
It is pretty disappointing that these are the regular sales prices for most of these. One less store to go to on Black Friday.

Sears’ BF ads have been this annoying to go through for years.
I can never understand why they won’t simply organize the tools according to product type, e.g. storage, cordless, mechanics tools, automotive accessories, etc.

There are plenty of deal breakdowns elsewhere, but I don’t think anyone else lists only the tool deals. Plus, all those deal sites separate the flyers into too many different pages to easily sort through.
When I’m in a store or shopping online, and trying to figure out if there was just one more item I wanted to add to my cart, the last thing I want to encounter are hurdles or buried info. I figure that if what I do helps me organize my Thanksgiving weekend shopping strategy, it’ll help readers as well, and so it’s worth the effort.

I find it highly unusual that they haven’t included anything from their bolt-on line (unless I missed it). I’ve purchased a few of these attachments and found that they are relatively useful for quick jobs. Thanks for the effort and the post though.

Hmm, I didn’t catch that. On the bright side, at least they included a couple of 12V Nextec deals in this year’s promo.
I’m sure Sears will still promote their Bolt-On modular power tool line in other ways during the holiday season.

The best ‘deal’ going on at sears is the shop you way points they throw at me every week. Over the past few days I’ve used $60 in free points. I was hoping that the brushless C3 drill would drop below the 129 it was at last week closer to 99for BF , but it’s not even in the ad.

Sears’ BF offerings have been completely pathetic for the past several years.
A few years ago they had a $97 TV that got a lot of the early birds, and before that they offered a $10 gift card (good that day only) for the first 100 people in line at each store, but other than that, their tactic seems to be to just sell the regular stuff at the regular sale price and hope people just come in and buy anyway just because it’s black friday. The best Sears deals have always been before BF though, either at the Friends & Family sales (where you got another 10% off the BF price and could also use a coupon for even more savings) or in the weeks leading up to the holidays.
It sucks in some ways for those of us who like Craftsman tools and would like to see some killer BF deals, but I’d agree with those who say those days are probably long gone.
On the other hand, not having to bother with shopping at places that don’t have any deals frees up time to buy at places that do.

I’m not sure why the max axess tool set is not being promoted in the flyer. I noticed the 131-piece & 104-piece max access tool set is discounted for 55%, which I think is a great deal. I’ve been eyeing it for a while and I don’t think they ever went under $100, now the 131-piece is only $90.
