Sears “Cyber Monday Now” Sale: 15%-Off Tools

Jul 22, 2012 Stuart 3 Comments

If you buy something through our links, ToolGuyd might earn an affiliate commission.

Now through Tuesday 7am CT (7/24/12), Sears is having an online-only “Cyber Monday Now” sale with a 15% discount on select tools.

Nothing about a Sunday-to-Tuesday-morning Cyber Monday sale in July makes sense, but we’ve given up trying to figure Sears out. Even so, a 15% discount is still worth mentioning.

Certain brands, product categories, and random SKUs (e.g. tool set 38215) are excluded from the sale. We’ve also seen product details that say valid thru 7am 7/25, offer ends 22-Jul-2012, and so the tool sale might end earlier or later than Tuesday morning.

Too bad their online site is horrid to work with, I’ve tried recently, only to give up mid way due to the frustrating system. Also is anger some that these so called expert agents refuse to tell you the country of origin of any product. Especially in a rude way

I’m with you on that one. Have tried ordering through the web site only to have all sort of things go wrong – not available when promised, not at store for pickup, sent wrong item, prices change from order to shipment. The Consumerist website is chock full of horror stories about Sears on the web. Really a shame, the local store where I live is pretty nice, although it’s more expensive than Amazon or Home Centers for comparable quality tools. I would love to see Sears survive and thrive, but I just don’t see it. Much more likely the tool brands will sell off and get taken over by someone else.

Couldn’t agree more with that as well. I’ve ordered items only to be told the item was never shipped, not available via the date listed, additional charges and bold face lies about the item as well. It’s almost as if they don’t want my business and rather me take my business elsewhere. After several bad online experiences and the Sear store near me is rather full of employees that just don’t care.

If Sears doesn’t want my business, Amazon and shops such as Grainger do and they are willing than willing to help and show professional manners.

For a time, I would really like to see Sears succeed, but I really don’t think that is possible at this point. The brands will live on, but owned by other companies and likely all of the Craftsman tools be 100% outsourced at that time.
