Sog Micron Keychain Knife

The Sog Micron is a very, very tiny knife. With its 1.5″ blade fully extended, the Micron stretches out to a whopping overall length of 3.44″.

The Micron is perfectly sized as a keychain knife, but if size is not an issue, something like the Victorinox Swiss Army Classic pocket knife would be more versatile for a similar price.

We had been hoping to take a few photos of our Sog Micron for you, but we unfortunately had misplaced it. The Micron is so diminutive in size that it can be easily lost in a stack of papers. If we ever find it, we’ll promptly attach a small lanyard to it, and recommend other Micron owners follow this practice.

There is also the Micron 2.0m which has a slightly larger handle and a 2.25″ blade.

Lastly, the Sog Fusion Micron is made in China.

Better yet, stick it on your keychain.

The black oxide finish is a little over the top and won’t hold up to use, but SOG’s stuff is decent.

The Swiss Army classic is the standard by which all others are compared. I’ll try others, but I always return to the classic.

Wow that is a really small knife. I tend to carry a much larger knife than I usually need. This thing would take care of 90% of the tasks I would need a knife for.

The dealer breaker for me is the “Made in China” though.

That would be by far too small for me to carry or use. I would be more apt to cut myself then what ever I had meant to cut.

Plus if it is small enough that you can misplace it that easily then I would never be able to find it when I needed it.

That is to small. Also It wasn’t mentioned how the closing mechanism locks so it doesn’t inadvertantly open in your pocket. Being in the military, I have been issued several knives and we go with Benchmade as they lock open and closed and also have the Military switchblade opening mechanism. I know that not everyone can get those but the “Griptillian” is my latest and it has a thumb opener that works awesome. I also like that you can send them back to Benchmade and they will sharpen them for free for life.

is there really a need for such a small knife, especially kept on a key chain? i believe most of us out there that carry a knife carry something big enough to at least fit the size of our hands folded. like a previous post, you’d have more of a chance to cut yourself than cut the object you have the sog out for.

i also try to limit what’s on my keychain. i can’t stand having a bulky amount of keys in my pocket, plus a cell, knife, change, cards, etc.

I have a little Spyderco I keep in my bag, tiny but it works: http://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=262

I have had it for 13 years or so now.

Surprising how many here said they’d cut themselves with this knife. Maybe you shouldn’t use ANY knife. My little girl does less whining. So many little girly boys these days. Man up!
