Stack-On Small Parts Organizer

Lowes is doing some mid-winter cleaning and has heavily discounted these small 13-compartment organizers. Our contact at Lowes said they were on sale for $1.99 each, but we’re seeing it for as low as $1.74 online, depending on zip code.

This organizer isn’t a beauty, but it makes up for that with its economy and usefulness. It has 13 compartments with some being fixed and others set with removable dividers. The overall size is 8″ x 8″ x 1.75″.

You can order online for in-store pickup or get them delivered to your door. Our preference is to opt for in-store pickup to escape shipping fees whenever possible.

Stack-On is a decent brand, and these organizers might even be made in the USA. The part number is SBR-13.

I grabbed a couple of these last @ Lowe’s when I was buying supplies for my flagpole install. They’re cheap, they work, and best of all…Made in USA!

Hi, Stuart–These didn’t look usable to me at first, because I’d need so many to hold all of the different types of fasteners, screws, connectors, etc., that I have. I went to the Lowes site, though, and it occurred to me these would be great for storage of parts for an item I’ve disassembled, or the hardware for a project I’m putting together (like Ikea furniture). One, or perhaps two, would corral and organize all the fasteners for such projects. Another idea is to use them instead of a nail apron to hold the nails or screws needed for certain projects. Those pesky drywall screws always seem to find a way to break through the pouch they’re in and hit a vital spot. Ouch!

I agree that it would be impractical to use these to organizer a very large collection of parts or fasteners. But they should suffice for small sets. I have a few organizers of about this size, but only for certain things: computer watercooling barbs and accessories, robotics servo horns and spare parts, premium LEDs and mounts, and so forth. Smaller organizers like this one help keep things separate but well sorted.

For things like large fastener and hardware assortments, a more systematic approach is easier and more convenient. Then you have people like me who have a hodgepodge of storage products because they couldn’t settle on (or afford) a single system.
