Stanley Hi-Vis Tape Measures Lowes Holiday 2015

Over at Lowes, this promo Stanley 4-pack of hi-visibility tape measures has returned for the 2017 holiday shopping season.

It features (2) 12-foot tapes, a 16-foot tape, and a 25-foot tape.

These are all lightweight tape measures that lack the standout of more premium models, and I would probably consider them less durable too. I bought a set last year, and these have become among my favorite around-the-house tapes, given their size and good comfort.

In yesterday’s Stanley FatMax tape measure 2-pack deal post, Eric said:

I wish they had similar deals for small tape measures. I have enough 25′ ones and prefer 12-16′ for typical work.

Does this have enough smaller sized tapes for you? =)

There has been a similar 4-pack at Home Depot stores in the past, except with Stanley PowerLock tape measures, but I haven’t seen it yet this year.

These Stanley hi-viz tape measures aren’t the best, but I like them, and they’re definitely good for the money.

I had this style tape (it was not a high visibility version) failing last week after 3,5 years of weekly use (woodworking and metalworking). I really like these tapes, they seem to be great for the money. Really good tapes if you don’t need an awful lot of standout.

I picked up one of these 4 packs last year, and I’ll get another this year. The 12′ tapes are ideal for smaller projects, dog house, bird feeder/houses, boxes, etc.. Some tapes, like Fat Max, are good quality, but big to the point of being annoying.

Cheaper tapes may not survive a fall onto concrete from 30′ up, but for most things, they don’t need to be built like an M1 tank. I’m 2/3 of the way through rebuilding my porch and deck railings and the only tape I’ve used is a $3.99 , 25′ from Harbor Freight that I got for free.

It’s too bad Stanley doesn’t make a 4-pack like this with their Leverlock measures.

It’s also too bad Stanley doesn’t make their Hi-Visibility stuff in neon yellow instead of neon green. I get that it’s to differentiate the yellow “regular” line from the “green” Hi-Viz line, but a day-glo yellow would seem to fit.

Probably $7 for a limited number of hours during Black Friday as a doorbuster. It’s $10 in store right now.

I just noticed that in-store tonight and came back to update the post. Thanks for the heads up though!

I have the 16′ and the only negative I can report (and it’s an annoying one) is the inability of this to stand upright. I prefer a tape to stay upright when I extend a section and leave the tape in place on a board. The bottom is tapered and no can do with the smaller ones, at least.
