Amazon is continuing their Black Friday deals week with another flash sale on popular Steamlight LED flashlights. One of the more notable deals is the Streamlight Stylus Pro LED flashlight in black for $15.80.
Update: Amazon brought all of these deals back for another round, and so I bumped the post back to the front page with minor edits.
The Stylus Pro is a popular and well-regarded penlight. It delivers 100 lumens of light and is powered by 2x AAA batteries.

I have a couple of Stylus Pro flashlights, and they’ve been useful, durable, and reliable over the years.
You’re saving around $5-$6 with this deal compared to the regular price.
Sale Price: $15.80
Miss this deal, and maybe try again on Black Friday or Cyber Monday – it usually goes on sale in black or blue ever year. I’ve assumed the “lightning deal” style flash sale format is used to spread the inventory around, so that it doesn’t all sell out all at once.

The Streamlight MicroStream USB-rechargeable flashlight is also on sale today, for $25.79.
I bought a different color version a few years ago and like it a lot. I don’t think they updated the USB interface from micro-USB, which is the reason I’m mentioning it within the Stylus Pro post rather than giving it more attention.

I have been avoided micro USB tools and flashlights, but I do have some nice USB-C to micro USB cables that makes that less of a headache.

The Streamlight Wedge XT is also on sale, for $66.57, although from the lightning deal counter it’s selling quickly.
This model has a slim rectangular form factor and recharges via USB-C. I’ve been liking the Wedge and Wedge XT a lot more than I thought. Unfortunately, the full-size Wedge model – which I prefer a little better – is not included in today’s flash sale. Maybe those models will go on sale next week.

I can attest that the MicroStream USB is a good light, and brighter than the AAA battery version with both a high and a low beam, so-to-speak. I have 2 of them so that I can always have one ready to swap out as I carry one daily.
The Micro USB is not an issue to me as I have 110V type A USB outlets in my shop office and a standard charging cord works great……

I’ve had a couple of the double AAA Streamlight models, and they’re good, but the single AAA models are just as good (in my use), and easier to use both my hands when the light’s between my lips. The single AAA Streamlight version is, to me, a close second to the equivalent Olight version, too – they’re both a treat to use.
I generally prefer devices that can take a fast (rechargeable) cell swap than need to be connected for a recharge. The downtime for a swap is a lot shorter than for a recharge.

I’ve a couple of these scattered around and find them very convenient. AKA non rechargeable so I can always swap batteries instantly.
So I ordered a bunch of these for gifts and The Great South American River said “nope”. The limit is five. Or was earlier when I ordered.
Still a great find Stuart!

The small streamlights are kind of a pain because they don’t sit right in a chest or shoulder pocket. I have a few of the pros and AAA versions of the full length stylus and I highly recommend them. The AAA is nice because I keep a big pack of batteries in my glovebox so if nothing is charged I can have it working instantly. I don’t mind the old USB style on the pro since somehow every USB charging tool seems to still use it so I always have something plugged in with the cable. All my Milwaukee USB redlithium lights (luckily the newest ones are USB C), OBD2 scanners, infrared cameras, and jump pack use that USB style so I just keep a box behind the center console and rotate them out with the designated charging cable for tools. I have too many streamlights but never enough. My oldest stylus is worn down to polished aluminum and has never had an issue.

My single cell Streamlights hang on a lanyard and drop into a shirt pocket when “on standby”. Works great for me.

I love the usb streamlights – I did have an issue with one that stopped charging- I tried swapping out batteries but it was an issue with the usb – it happened just under a year so I reached out to them and they replaced it.

I’ve never been a “flashlight enthusiast” (you know who you are!), but I bought the larger Wedge model a while back on Stuart’s recommendation, and it is a game changer for me. Super bright, perfect size, long lasting battery that recharges using USB-C (which I have scattered around the house/workshop), and there is something about the more rectangular shape that is ergonomically perfect for me in a way that cylindrical flashes never were.
Be advised, reviewse of the smaller model (which has a different type of switch) complain about the light turning on in their pocket and burning holes in pants, etc.
Stuart
The larger one turned on in my pocket last week; it can happen to a lot of lights. I took that as a “me” problem as my pocket was crammed full of stuff (wallet, keys) and it must have happened when I was driving.
It’s something one needs to be mindful of. Few models have lockouts.

I have several of the Microstream lights and they’ve been very good. On-shore (Pennsylvania) customer service. At this point (2024) though, it’s high time to switch over to USB-C .. Micro-USB is banished from my house now.
