This morning a post went up at the Consumerist blog about a Home Depot manager that provided a level of customer service not normally found at average big-box retail stores.
Basically, a Home Depot manager promised that certain materials would be available by a customer’s deadline, but a late delivery truck made that impossible. So, the manager went to another Home Depot location, picked up the items there, and then brought them back for the customer.
Now, this probably isn’t a normal everyday occurance, but it’s great to see that Home Depot’s managers stick by their promises!

i just had a great experiance at home depot in visalia ca. i needed to build a table for my new mini lathe. with just the basics of a plan i went there as lowes didn’t have the means to help. long story short, Rick in lumber asked if i needed help. after explainng my situation he took control. designed the table, picked the lumber, cut it to specs, loaded it up, walked with me through check out and loaded it up in my van. all with enthusiasm and a smile. just floored me. i did write to hd about this special employee. i’m a para in a wheelchair.
