Home Depot has kicked off November with a new round of tool deals of the day, featuring “special buys” by Dewalt, Milwaukee, Ridgid, Ryobi, and Dremel.
There are some decent cordless power tool bundles, Milwaukee hand tools, combo kit deals, and more.
Update: Many of these deals have ended. Subscribe to our newsletter (daily updates) to ensure you don’t miss any of our holiday season tool deal coverage. See more recent tool deals here.

I would caution you, however, that some of these deals are not all that great compared to some of the newly-launched Black Friday 2022 and holiday gift center tool deals. Shop carefully.
Home Depot’s deals are valid today-only, thru 3am ET 11/2/2022, while supplies last.
Lowe’s has kicked off a round of “Cyber Steals,” today-only, featuring discounts on select Worx cordless power tools. There are a couple of strong deals there for DIYers, hobbyists, or homeowners on a strict tool budget.
Dremel – Last year’s Dremel 8260 brushless rotary tool is on sale as part of Home Depot’s special buy deal of the day, bundled with an accessory set for just $144. The kit is normally $144 by itself.
Acme Tools – Acme has kicked off their Black Friday 2022 “Jump Start” deals, which I’ll be going over separately. They also have a Metabo flash sale – 10% off select grinders for 48 hours – and some other seasonally-timed “special buys.” Their “buy more, save more” Milwaukee Packout deal is still going strong.
Use coupon code TOOLGUYD to save $10 off $79+ at Acme. It’s one use per customer and resets every 30 days.

ToolNut – I can hear our friends at ToolNut whispering in my ear – “we’ve got some great tool deals as well!” I took a peek, and yes they do. They have a couple of Makita 18V X2 cordless circular saw kits on sale AND bundled with extra batteries. $199 for a brushless circular saw, charger, and (4) 5Ah batteries!
Ohio Power Tool – Our friends at OPT have a new Milwaukee Tool “buy more, save more” deal. Spend $250+ and save $50, or spend $500+ to save $100.
They always have unique more tradesmen and industrial-focused deals, check them out if you have a chance. For instance, buy 2 Metabo bare cordless power tools, get a free 2-battery starter kit.
KC Tool – Their deal of the day is… a Knipex Cobra XS “holiday edition” where it’s packaged in a Christmas tree ornament.
If you’d rather skip the ornament, Amazon has the Cobra XS for $32.65 at the time of this posting, or $26.96 with free shipping via their global store.

When you get a “free” tool in a deal, say when you get a battery starter kit and then have a free tool added in the check out cart, do you pay tax on what your are actually charged or on the theoretical full cost? I ask because when I get a phone deal, I am charged tax on the full theoretical cost of the phone, not the discounted price.
MM
I have purchased many deals with a “free tool” or “free battery” from a variety of vendors (CPO, Home Depot, Acme, Tool Nut) and I’ve never been charged tax on any of the freebies.
Big Richard
Taxed on the actual amount you pay. Add everything to your cart and go to checkout, the tax should be calculated based on the amount you owe, not the pre promo price.
Stuart
I have not yet seen any “free with purchase” cordless power tool deal where the customer is charged tax on any amount above the “buy this” product price.
Let’s say there is a deal where you buy a $100 tool and get a tool valued at $100 for free.
The way most of these deals are processed, the “buy me” tool would be reduced in price to $50, and you are essentially buying the “free” gift at $50. You end up spending $100, plus tax on only that amount.
Other times, there’s a bundle price of say $200 where everything is purchased as a set at that price. The sales tax would still be calculated off what you pay.
Jon
I believe the difference is that the phone is technically bought by you and a credit is applied each month to pay it off. Which is why they can charge you if you cancel service prior to what agreement got you the “free” phone.

Agreed Stuart ie shop carefully. We haven’t had this high of inflation in 40 years and gas prices remain at all time highs so going into this Holiday Season is all speculation regarding Holiday Deals, not only on tools but damn near everything! I would guess the manufacturers are as confused as the consumers and are heading into the Holiday Season fingers crossed. Will they take deep markdowns and go for products sales and merchandise turns or will they cinch up their belts and hope for the best? It’s anyone’s guess at this point.
Stuart
My “shop carefully” warning has nothing to do with inflation, gas prices, or anything economy-related, so please don’t inject politics into the discussion.
What I was trying to convey is that “deals of the day” offers this time of year sometimes don’t always offer the best discounts. Sometimes, Black Friday deals (early or upcoming) are a better value. This is true every year.
Saulac
I respect your opinion, but I don’t see much politic from original comment, a bit off-topic maybe. The comment made me think about all the recent price increases, especially the preannounced price increases. Due to this special time, would we ever see tool prices, in general, go down? Housing price is going down, and affects construction. All contractors/trades will be affected, more or less. Would the demand for tools decrease? Legit question. Please feel free to delete this comment if it is off-topic.
Stuart
9 out of 10 people who start talking to me about gas prices and inflation these days very quickly segue into political commentary.
Even if that wasn’t Dave’s intent, and he is the 1 out of 10, I wanted to make it clear to everyone else that politics should not be injected into the discussion.
@Dave – I’m sorry for not making this clearer and for sounding rude.
@Saulac – The holiday shopping season exists in a bubble where logic and correlation is unreliable.
Some deals are inexplicably BETTER than last year’s.
Predicting holiday season deals, promotions, and demand is impossible; it will be best to analyze in hindsight.
For instance, given higher prices, inflation, general higher costs all around, have people been deferring their purchases? Will we see a bigger holiday shopping season because of this?
Chains such as Target have excess inventory. What will this mean for customers?
Too many questions like these can be answered in too many ways.
Saulac
Appreciate your reply and insight. You are correct. I feel there are more deals and better deals than quite a while.

That Dewalt router deal with the 6ah, 4ah and 2ah battery pack for $199 is a good deal but I still might rather go to Lowe’s and get router free with the 2 5ah battery starter kit. I don’t really need another 2ah battery and I don’t like the size of the 6ah compared to the 5ah (I’d rather get an 8 if i’m jumping to the bigger sized batteries). The value hunter in me is having trouble ignoring the overall value of the HD deal though. Decisions, decisions…
Stuart
It’s a hard call.
Acme Tools has the same deal – $199 with free shipping for the 2x 5Ah starter kit and bonus router.
That Dewalt 3-battery + router deal of the day is a great bargain, and you get nice battery choices if you want them.
If you don’t, the Acme/Lowe’s 2x 5Ah battery and charger starter kit + router deal is going to be a much better value if it serves you better.
If you buy something you don’t like using as much, just because it’s a better bargain, is that really a better value *for you*?
Alex
Good point, Stuart. I didn’t realize Acme had that same promo going on. I’m one of they lucky ones with an Acme physical location near me and I like to support them over the big boxes when I can.

There’s an m12 hammer drill with a 5.0 battery, that’s breaking news to me. Was there ever a post on new m12 batteries?
Stuart
I posted about them here: https://14cyiuhvcgv.com/milwaukee-power-tools-pipeline-2022/%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E
A standalone post on the batteries is indeed due since they finally launched.
In a nutshell, if you want the best compact M12 battery, the 2.5Ah is best. If you want an XC battery, the 5Ah is best. They use tried-and-true cylindrical cell 18650 form factor, but just the latest and greatest cell technologies. Higher capacity, greater power delivery capabilities.

I’m on Makita’s 18v platform for everything except OPE. I use Milwaukee’s 18v for OPE, but I only have one larger battery for it (12.0) which came with the kit I bought. Is there and deals to look out for for just a single large m18 battery?
Nathan
some decent deals on ladders it seems – I’ve been lusting after a 26ft reach multi-position one ofr a while. HD has the gorillia version for under 300 with with the wheels.
Also that router with battery and charger deal looks good – I was thinking I needed a cordless trim router.
