Can you tell that I like using this photo for random posts where there’s no relevant photo? I used to use a plain looking “ToolGuyd News” photo for the front page thumbnail of similar posts, but it was kind of boring.

You don’t need to email me saying you received the gift card. Sure, it’s always nice and appreciated, but not necessary. In my Amazon account, I can see a gift card’s status. I can see who has redeemed their gift cards, and can resend the codes to those who have not yet done so.

I did receive mine and used it on a QEP tile leveling tool. Home Depot sells the clips and wedges but not the tool, so I bought one on Amazon so I could finish the tile in my shower. My thumb was sore for a week from the other bathroom floor not having that tool. 🙂

My gift card went to a 10″ comfort-grip pliers wrench and a pair of Milwaukee offset scissors. Haven’t used either of them much so far, but I’m glad to have them.

I’m guilty and I apologize. I saved these emails but was unaware that I had to actually redeem them to my account. I thought the email was the actual gift card. I have several items on my wishlist and I am struggling to decide which is most important. I think I am waiting for a project to present itself to help me make the decision. I’m also a bit disappointed with amazon’s Milwaukee offerings…anyone else notice their prices seem to be much higher than HD?

I had indulged myself with the Leatherman Squirt ES4 just a few days before finding out about the card and it wasn’t until today I was prepared to make another order.
I was going to buy the surge protector and battery caddy from the recommmended tools #3, but upon investigation decided i need a small portable (travel) surge protector more than an industrial one, and that over $5 for a caddy for batteries i can buy 4x@$12 that also include a little plastic box was too dear.
So what i ended up getting was this: Inland NSS13 Wall Tap Style 1 Outlet Surge Protected 2-USB Charger Ports with 2.1A, which is great for traveling as a two-in-one gadget, along with some really mundane window insulating plastic (Duck Brand 281506 Indoor 10-Window Shrink Film Insulator Kit, 62-Inch x 420-Inch ) to reduce the AC bill from the big, old western windows this summer.
But i like to think i got the awesome Leatherman tool with the card. 🙂

My worry was that 1) the email addresses were wrong, 2) the emails were filtering out as spam. That’s why I went with a public post, rather than emailing the 4 remaining winners separately.
Right now there’s 1 out of 23 that still has yet to redeem their gift card. Almost there!
