Definitely a Kreg pocket hole jig system. It’s crazy what I’ve had to resort to over the years to attach and secure butt joints in a whole host of projects. I can’t justify a biscuit joiner yet, but the Kreg jig will get lots of use.

Thanks for providing all the great info! I’m usually checking in at least once a week, although this time of year it seems almost daily. 🙂 My favorite find are the wago lever nuts! I just used them on a 7 lb outdoor fixture mounted 9 feet up. It made the job simple with only two hands since I didn’t have to mess with conventional wire nuts. I got a stash of them to keep on hand!

I’m not sure if I would go for a second pair of wrench pliers or get the little 12v Bosch Jigsaw. I modded my wrench pliers for brushless motor rewinding so the jaws are very thin and it seems everytime I use them for more serious work, I end up bending them. But, on the other hand, a smaller jigsaw would also be nice. Then I could leave my js470eb at home and keep the little js120 in my tool bag.

Thanks for the giftaway, and congrats on 7 years! I have tried adding other tool sites to my websites that I view regularly, but ToolGuyd is the only one that continues to make the cut, and not get forgotten!
I don’t have a ton of tools (or money), but when I DO break down a buy a tool, I like to save up money, and buy a quality tool that will do the job well, and last forever.
I’d LIKE put it toward a Dewalt 735 planer, a router table, one of the larger Kreg pocket hole jigs, or even something as simple as a NICE ripping blade for my table saw.
In reality, I’d probably put it toward a nice pair of fencing pliers, and a new framing hammer, both of which are more pressing needs on our newly purchased farm!

I have had my eye on the Bosch 12v jigsaw or 12v vacuum. The jigsaw I could have used recently when building my workbench and several times now I have run into situations where it would have been great to suck up small messes like drywall dust or sawdust from just a few holes without having to drag over my upright vacuum. Another example I re-did some electrical outlets in my garage and inside the junction box there was a lot of dust/drywall pieces that were never cleaned up from when the house was built.
Already owning the great PS22 and PS32 brushless 12V drivers, either of these tools would be a great extension to my Bosch 12V lineup.

Been eyeing a new pair of Klein 9 inch insulated high leverage side cutters. There are a lot of other good linemen pliers out there but Klein tools have almost never let me down. Want the Kliens to replace my current pair that have a nick in the blades right in the sweet spot. My fault, tried to cut some hardened wire. Wire didn’t cut and left a nice nick in the blades. Was the only time my Klein pliers didn’t stand up but I don’t fault the pliers. Shoulda grabbed the bolt cutters instead.
Lesson learned.

I’d use the gift card toward the purchase of a Milwaukee 6536-21 corded Sawzall. I’ve found that while cordless reciprocating saws are lighter and more convenient, the battery runs outs way too quickly to accomplish very much. A corded saw will be more suited to my needs.

This website is always up on my browser. I refresh it several times per day as news normally comes faster through here then through my factory reps(I am a tool distributor.) On more than a couple situations I know more about upcoming products than my reps and that is just great.
I would spend the money on the magnetic work mat and most likely some sort of knife to add to the collection, either CRKT or Kershaw.

I am in desperate need of a reliable circular saw. Right now I have my father’s old Craftsman circ saw that has to be at least 30 years old. It has held steady through the years but not without some tinkering to keep it going. It has served me (decently) well but it is time to retire that saw. I’m invested in the Ridgid 18v line so I would lean towards the Ridgid 18v circ saw if I was going cordless.

Thanks Stuart! I would put the $50 toward a Milwaukee right-angle impact driver. I’ve been thinking it would be a good option to have when trying to drill through the top plate in the eves of a house; plenty of torque and no kick-back – perfect for when awkward positioning makes it more difficult than usual to maintain control of a tool.
If I had it YESTERDAY, I would certainly put it to the test. I would have gotten a lot less complaining from the guy in the attic, and I would have had a lot less concern for the bit breaking through where it shouldn’t. All went well, but it’s now higher on my priority list.

We’re selling our house next year, and I have some trim work to do. Last time I did trim, I used a hammer and nail set. A pneumatic nailer would make that job much easier and quicker, not to mention leaving fewer hammer dents in the wood. A gift card would help move me up from el cheapo to a Dewalt. I would use it to purchase a small wet/dry vacuum. While I currently utilize a 10 gallon wet/dry vacuum, the additional portability of a small vac would allow me to easily use it for projects on all levels of my house (as well as within my attic where the large vac won’t fit). Additionally, I built a record cleaning machine that utilizes my wet/dry vac. Unfortunately it is difficult to move my current vacuum to the location with all of my vinyl – a small vacuum would allow me to make use of my record cleaning machine far more often – and, thus, have better sounding music.

I have a table saw, band saw, miter saw, and router (with a homemade table), the last major tool I really feel like I would use is a drill press. I don’t need anything fancy or too powerful but there are a lot of cuts that you just can’t make with anything but a drill press. I would put $50 towards a beefy dry vac that can handle fine-dust filters, as I’m doing a decent amount of work cutting graphite and the stuff gets *everywhere*. I figure a 2-1/4″ vac nozzle and 5hp behind it pulling suction might keep the graphite contained in a reasonable fashion.
