I have not yet used the ToughBuilt workbench to its full potential, such as its convenient tool pouch docking clips, and so I cannot comment on all of its features.
But as a portable workbench, I have had nothing but fantastic experiences so far.
The side pull-handle, which is used to deploy the legs when setting up the workbench for use, can be pushed back within the benchtop, making it far less obtrusive. Otherwise, the handle would jut out and increase the space the open workbench takes up without any functional benefits.
As I mentioned in my news post, it seems ToughBuilt did their homework with this design. After having been using the workbench these past few weeks, I am glad to say that sentiment still holds true.

I received my order 3 days ago. Solid work table, although I haven’t really run it through the ringer yet. I’ve never had any other of the portable work tables so I have nothing to compare it to. I’ve been using it for sanding since my wife wants to change up the look of all of the kitchen cabinets. I’m happy with the purchase.

Seems real similar to the dewalt table. I have a dewalt and decided I need a second one. If this one is just sturdy and roughly the same height then I don’t mind saving $20 over the current sale price on the dewalt. Thanks for posting this!

The Dewalt has much smaller legs and the handle doesn’t retract inside the table when deployed. The Toughbuilt has beefier legs, the handle can be retracted when the table is in use.

The retractable handle seems like a minor feature, but it is hugely noticeable when you leave the bench set up in a more compact work space for a prolonged period of time.

I just walked by the Dewalt this evening, and immediately wondered which was “better.” Thanks for this comparison. $20 cheaper, and seems sturdier.
While I do appreciate the handle fulling hiding away, that wouldn’t be the deal breaker

I have had 4 Dewalt tables there pieces of crap, hard to open or close i have 1 left and I really use it anymore, have had multple conversations with Dewalt to know avail they don’t care to stand behind there products that are not power tools

I just bought the last 2 at my local Lowes this morning. I plan on gifting them and $69 seemed like a good price. They were located with the Christmas promotions and had a promo price displayed as $69.98. That would make the sale ($69) as only $0.98 off. I have noticed that Lowes (other too) often seems to compare their sales promotion prices to either MSRP or to some early-on price that they may never have actually applied to the item. But $69 seems like a good price no matter what.
They seem heavier than the Dewalt one that I have down in Florida.
They are made in India – compared to the Dewalt which is made in Israel (I assume at Stanley-Zag)

What would I have to buy to hold work pieces onto this bench and would they be standard sizes or custom for the slots/holes in this?

Just picked mine up. The slots are just right for standard Bessey F clamps, and the holes look just right for standard 3/4″ dogs. Both will work a wide variety of accessories.

I have a Black and Decker Firestorm folding table (likely a rebranded Keter) with two removable clamps and not much else which makes it not as useful as this one appears to be.
I will likely buy one.

I use trigger clamps with removable jaws – the kind that can be clamps or spreaders.
I have used track saw guide rail and multi-functional work table clamps with other tables, and they should work here as well.

I bought a Dewalt set a while ago.
In this set at Home Depot, the 2 larger clamps have removable jaws. The 2 smaller clamps don’t. You need that removable jaw.
The Bessey ratcheting clamp (via Amazon) should work as well, but I haven’t tested it here yet. I’ve used the nearly identical Festool clamp with MFT.

I don’t own this but a co-worker has one. I’ve used Irwin Quick Grip woodworking style clamps and also Strong Hand welder’s F-clamps with it, both worked well.

Thaks for the recommendations. I have some Irwin Quick Grips and will try them first when the workbench arrives to see if they are adequate before getting the DeWalts or others.
Might a clamp on vise be a good thing to get for light duty metal work compared to trigger clamps?

The top of this style of folding workbench is quite thick. Most “clamp on” vises that I’ve seen wouldn’t fit on it because the clamp couldn’t open wide enough. But you could mount the vise on a piece of wood and then bolt or clamp that to the workbench.

Most of the clamp-on portable vises that I’ve seen are meant to be secured to a wooden tabletop. I’m not sure that their clamping mechanism would have the depth capacity to grip the plastic of this workbench. Even if it fit, the swivel plate on the screw clamp might deform/damage the plastic as it is screwed down. Alternatively, you might purchase a small utility vise and mount it to a scrap of plywood/board and then clamp the plywood to the portable workbench top

I’ve been looking into a table to compliment my Worx Pegasus. This would be perfect except for the 1” height difference.

Out of curiosity, how much does the workbench weigh? It’s weight capacity is all over the place, but not its actual weight. I am working on things at various levels in my house, so I am trying to minimize the weight of the things I am moving about.

I have had other portable workbenches in the year that were a bear to lift, move, position into corners for storage, or carry through doorways or up and down stairs.
The ToughBuilt is very easy to move and maneuver. If you’re uncertain, most if not all Lowe’s stores should have them in their gift center display area. The packaging might not let you try setting it up in-store, but you should still be able to get a feel for its weight and portability.

I have two of the DeWalt and they are great when new, but they did not good up over time with moderate use. It didn’t take long for the legs to not fold and unfold without help. The joint where the legs meet the table is a weak spot, both tables have a broken joint but in a different spot, one was kind of fixable and the other is a maybe. Even though they came set up for lots of clamping spots the bottoms are not good for finding a stable point.
I also had one of those keter tables that come with two clamps. If you are shorter than 5’9″ they will be comfortable to use. They are stupid short and cheaply built.
I’m going to pick one of these toughbuilt up and see how it goes.

Picked one up on Friday after seeing the link in another post comment. So far I’m really impressed. It’s heavy enough to be stable but not so heavy that it’s hard to move around. Leg deployment is smooth and agree 100% that the handle storage feature seems trivial until you use it and then you realize how great the design is.
One thing I’d point out for anyone that gets one and wants to add additional cleats (clips?) on the corners…the screw head has to be on the inside and the nut on the outside. At least in one corner, if you have the nut on the inside it will block the track that the leg folding mechanism rides in and you won’t be able to collapse it the whole way. All in all I’m super impressed with this table and I know it’s going to see a lot of use.

They are $120 here in Houston. Elsewhere, they are on sale for $69. If I shop with a zip code where it is $69 (on sale from $99) and try to ship it to my home, they jack the price back to $120.
Lowes seriously always has the worst shopping experience. That’s why they are usually the last place I look for any given item.

Yeah, that’s going to be hard to find.
I had a lot of experience shipping to Australia when I had my machining business. The shipping costs are extremely high, but what’s arguably worse is how slow the customs process is in both Australia and NZ. I could see from the tracking of the packages I sent that they’d arrive in Aus/NZ in about 10 days or so but then it would take two or three months to clear customs. Meanwhile I am fielding daily angry emails from customers demanding to know why the Australian post hasn’t delivered their parcel yet–as if I had any control over that whatsoever. And then, after they received the package, more angry emails about the import duties they had to pay for their order–as if I had any control over that, either. Now interestingly the Aus post was extremely reliable. I think we only ever had two packages which went missing which was a lot better record than anywhere else. But we couldn’t escape being blamed for the cost or the slow speed of shipping, it eventually go so bad that we considered refusing to sell to Australia or NZ.
It’s also very expensive to ship from Australia to the US. I’ve wanted a Dawn offset vise for years, I’m willing to pay for the vise but it’s not cheap to ship 55 kilos of steel that far overseas.
