More l-boxxes are great, but I’m curious how I can make better use of my existing ones. The pick and pluck foam seems to be a ripoff. Anyone found good foam or other ways to keep tools and their accessories relatively in place inside the l-boxxes?

buy kaizen foam from fastcap. It is way, way, way better than the bosch pick n pluck junk (which is both expensive and worthless for shaping)

FastCap Kaizen Foam is supposed to be really good for this. I picked up a couple of sheets for organizing some L-Boxxes and Tanos Mini Systainers but just haven’t gotten around to fitting my tools to them yet – maybe this winter.

The new ridgid boxes may be a cheaper alternative. I have systainers but purchased several of the ridgid boxes. They are holding up well and have made my truck much neater. They could use a few more sizes though.

Too bad there’s no sale on the Ridgid boxes. I have a couple as well as some Toughboxes and L-Boxxs and they seem tough enough to hang with the big boys. Plus, the large Ridgid box is the only box I’ve found that my porta-band will fit into. Large Toughbox, not quite. Large L-Boxx, not even close.

The value in the Ridgid system is you don’t have to buy a cart. The large box does that for you. Any of the other system the box prices are not bad but what they want for the cart is insane. That’s why I went with the Ridgid Toolboxes.

Last year Amazon put the toughsystem boxes on sale at the same time as the $25 off $100 promotion so i was able to pick up boxes at a really great price – hoping they will do the same this year

Bought 4 L boxes already, 2 from amazon, but shipping and import taxes makes them less of a deal, and 2 no2 from a supplier I use that put a load on sale that were from combo kits they have split up. I’m up to 6 festool/ Tanos boxes now as well.

To add to my collection, I picked up some remanufactured L-Boxx 2 units at CPO last month, saving $17 each, plus free shipping. I assume some were part of tool returns, as they certainly do not have noticeable wear. Definitely interested in the new Ridgid boxes for my next stack, however.
