I own a couple pairs of long nose locking pliers, and they’re great for reaching into tight work areas, but these Triplett LongLockers look to take things to a while new level.
Have you ever thought to yourself “boy, I could really use 15-inch locking pliers?” The thought has never crossed my mind, but I could definitely think of a few occasions in the past few months where these pliers would have come in handy.

What I like about this design is how the jaw doesn’t open super-wide when releasing the handles, making them even better for working in narrow spaces.
I never heard of Triplett before, and at $15 each, there is no illusion about these being premium locking pliers.

Hooo, boy! I’d like to see these in a more rigid construction, made from stainless steel or aluminum, and sold with a couple of extra springs and a wrist lanyard. Offshore fishing guys like me would (and do) pay the premium to stay as far away from shark and barracuda teeth when freeing a deep hook. Of course, that’s a small market… I wonder if these are patented or otherwise protected, or if this is a good project for Kickstarter?

John , thats the first thing that came to my mind when I saw these. I fish in the surf and off jettys, this would be great for grabbing things below and removing hooks. Might get these and do some modding.

Triplett is (was) a well respected name in electric/electronic test equipment arena. They have been around since before the First World War – and more recently (2007) were acquired by Jewel Instrument Co. I’m not sure when they branched out into pliers and the like.

I’m in love with the idea but an not crazy about the function from the looks of things, it seems you’ll have limited jaw opening or alot of handle opening to deal with, someone should make these with a double x like the gear wrench pliers, I’d invest in a set or 5.

How on earth does Harbor Freight do it? If I could make all of my patent protected tools the way they do, I’d be able to be in hardware stores! Wow.
