This Logix USA-made compact plastic tool box is on sale again, for just under $5.
I first bought two of them when they were priced at over $6, and four more when I saw them for $4.98 (19% off) in February.
I prefer the Flambeau-made ArtBin tool box, but not at 3X the price. After I posted about the ArtBin, that’s when I bought my first Logix-branded boxes to try out. Here’s my earlier post about this Logix tool box.

The Logix tool box can hold all kinds of tools, crafts, supplies, and parts. It’s not made specifically for tools, but I’ve found it works well for smaller hand tools and related stuff.
It measures 11.5″ x 5.06″ x 7.25″. There’s a single latch and a folding handle. You can stack them on top of each other.
I feel that it’s very well-made for the money.
Price: $4.98
The price has been bouncing between $4.98 and $6.15, and seems to regularly return to the lower price point. So is this a deal or just a good bargain?
I thought $6.15 was a great price, and $4.98 is certainly better. I found uses for the ones that I purchased, and I’m sure I can fill a couple more.

I bought 10 of these for my classroom. They’re great to preload with project supplies and they store easily. I may get a few more for home use.

I really like them for smaller stuff. Collections of headlamps, gloves and hats, the parts for beer growlers especially the one that you pressure.
The bigger boxes I use to organize hearing protection ear muffs, bulkier stuff.

They’ve been hovering around the $4.98 price for a while. I grabbed 16 of them last time around for mine and my wife’s art supplies. They’re very well made.

Speaking of tool boxes I’ve been looking for something that works well with gridfinity (a 3d printed standard known for being great for small parts storage). Amazon Prime has gotten so unreliable lately, even beyond raising the delivery time from two days to five days to now include almost 25% of packages not even making it to my house but instead Amazon bleating that they could not be delivered (when the other 75% arrive – late, that I am considering cancelling the Amazon Prime account. You should consider doing an article on what has happened to Amazon Prime and what consumers can do to try to get what was promised, and what they pay for.

I have been having issues with packages arriving late as well, however in my area it us the US Postal Service which is screwing up. And the screwups apply to more than just Amazon, I’ve had the same issues with Reverb, Ebay, etc. Amazon ships on time, at least for me. But the post office frequently screws up delivery in all manner of ways. The most frustrating is that they are rarely accurate when they update the tracking information. Instead of being clear and honest they invent fiction to cover their own butts. UPS, FedEx, or DHL? Rarely a problem.

If Amazon offers delivery to one of their lockers in your area, maybe you should try that. If I’m not mistaken, our local Lowe’s has Amazon Lockers at the entrance.
A few years ago, Amazon packages were delivered by UPS, and by the regular postal service. And UPS was somewhat slower, as far as I remember. Then they got rid of UPS, and began delivery by their own crews/contractors, in Amazon branded vans. Now, just a rare package gets delivered by USPS, but they do it seven days a week.
Some items can be ordered for next day delivery, two days is rather common as well, but not on all items. And quite often I opt for several items to be delivered on my chosen “Amazon Day”, on Wednesdays.

I’ve had the opposite situation with Amazon Prime. Ever since Amazon built warehouses in our area, delivery has been stunningly fast. A lot of items the very next day. And they are esoteric items often, not typical consumer items. I don’t have good feelings towards Amazon. I know they treat their workers shabbily. And I don’t like the presence of warehouses from property value and aesthetics point of view. But I have to begrudgingly admit it’s fast.
I’m not home typically, so I can’t tell you if it’s delivered by UPS, FedEx, UPSP, or an Amazon branded truck.

The moment Amazon stops delivering to my address via UPS is the day I stop shopping there.

Amazon delivery reliability it seems varies by region. I can order Prime and sometimes have Amazon truck delivery within hours.
UPS, FedEx, DHL all had issues during pandemic and all now 95-98% reliable.
USPS has become pitiful. Envelopes, boxes – roll the dice and see what happens.

I bought a bunch after reading about this on Toolguyd. They’re the best boxes for kids toys, if they could fit in it. My kids LOVE them and the lids don’t get lost. They’re not as translucent as the Sterlite bins you find at HD/Target, but they’re good enough and the sturdiness makes up for it. I also love how well they stack.
If I could get them in different sizes, I’d replace every bin in my house with these.
They’re also perfectly sized for seeds and smaller tools and weathersealed, so I don’t have to worry about humidity in our basement.

Re:humidity. I also bought a bulk pack of desiccant packets. Don’t want to seal in the moisture long term either.

I bought a dozen of these last time, and honestly, only use a couple so far. They are a good product, but a little small for me. For my needs, the Harbor Freight ammo can at slightly higher price is sized much better.

If you’re looking for something a bit bigger, but still transparent. I’ve been happy with these boxes. They’re not as cheap as Stuart’s find though ($12). I’ve found them at Walmart for about the same price as the amazon link I’m providing below.

They appear to be of the same manufacture as the logix, they’re $6.88, but they offer the ability to lock it. Granted with a box this size, it won’t stop anyone from just walking off with it, but maybe good to keep the kids out your stuff.

I tend to greatly dislike metal locking clasps that jut out like that – I’ve cut my hands on them a couple of times.

Hmmmm. I like the Art Bin ones… but this price is even better. Looks like it’d be a good size to have. The one question I have, if anyone who has had both (or at least the Logix ones). How’s the transparency of the material? The Art Bin ones are listed as ‘Clear’, the Logix ones as ‘Frost’. Even though I do tend to label my cases, it is nice to be able to get a reasonable idea of what is inside without opening it.

I use mine for my tie-downs, bungees, and ratchet straps. Keeps them neat and tidy and it fits under the back seat of the truck.
