Engineer Inc. and Vampire Tools’ Vampliers pliers are pretty sweet. The pliers I reviewed and enjoy using are great for general purpose work with machine screws, but there’s a somewhat narrow range fastener sizes they can work on.
For instance, you wouldn’t really see these in a construction setting, because they’re simply too small for pulling nails, drywall screws, and other such fasteners.
That’s why it’s most welcome to see that Vampire Tools has come out with a new “Pro” sized version of their pliers. There’s also a new mini size as well.

Vampliers Pro Screw Extraction Pliers
The new “Pro” sized Vampliers pliers are 8″ long, and are described as lineman’s pliers. They look the part too, with multi-grooved screw-pulling jaws, side-cutting blades, and wire-pulling grooves.
Vampliers says these pliers can remove stripped, rusted, or corroded fasteners, and that they’re designed to work with fastener sizes 0.12″ to 0.59″ in diameter.
These Japanese-made pliers look every bit as ergonomic and comfortable to use as the original size.

Vampliers Mini Screw Extraction Pliers
The new mini Vampliers are smaller than the original, and as such they’re designed to work with smaller sized fasteners. The handles are also ESD-safe, which means these pliers are even better suited for working inside electronics enclosures and with small components or fasteners.
These pliers can work with fasteners 0.08″ to 0.21″ in diameter.
The original/regular Vampliers pliers are 6.25″ long, while these are about 4.72″ long.

I have an Engineer PZ-57 Neji Saurus Pliers that is about 4.7 inches long and looks about equivalent to the new smaller Vampliers.

I have the smaller pair of VamPLIERS, and I love them. They are invaluable for pulling stripped machine screws out of electrical boxes. I’ll probably be buying the new 8″ pair.

I take apart a lot of electronics and they have annoying and often unnecessary security screws. I have collected a bunch of screwdrivers and bits but sometimes I don’t have what I need or a screw gets stripped. I’m gonna have to check out the new ESD-safe mini size. Thanks for the heads up.

I own a pair of the red ones and I was using them today to try and remove a small stripped screw. I looked at them and wished they made a smaller pair. Wish has now been granted.
