Quick question – does the ToolGuyd YouTube video in the right sidebar autoplay for anyone when they first load the site?
The videos should NOT be autoplaying.
I received one complaint in June and one more today.

I routinely test ToolGuyd.com performance in the latest versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, as well as Android and Apple iOS devices, and have never once been able to replicate the problem.
The first person that complained remarked that they use Chrome, but I use the same browser on several computers and operating system platforms and have not been able to duplicate the issue.
My best guess is that these two users are using some type of plugin or add-on that conflicts with the code I use to embed YouTube videos.
Thus far, since implementing the code over a year ago, there have been millions of pageviews with only two complaints about the videos misbehaving and autoplaying on page load.
If more people are experiencing this problem, please let me know and I’ll look into rewriting the code or removing this feature.
As a side note, I updated that spot with new videos, and will try to keep on top of that in the future.

Thank you all for any feedback you can provide, it is much appreciated!

Does NOT autorun for me, confirmed on two devices: Chrome v28 on a Alienware PC running Win7, and Chrome v27 on a Galaxy Tab 8.9 running Android 4.0.
Stuart
Thanks for checking!

No on an ipad, don’t suppose they could have triggered it while scrolling ?
Stuart
One person gave me a fake email so I can’t ask, but the other one said it just happened on page load.

Your site does not auto play on the 3 computers I use. All windows 7 64 bit and all current build of Chrome.

No, but when I read your RSS feed on TheOldReader.com via my jelly bean running galaxy s4 phone, the images never come through.
Stuart
Thanks for letting me know! I added theoldreader.com to the whitelist, so images should start coming through.

No autoplay for me. Using Ubuntu and Firefox 22.
Jerry
Never had it happen with Explorer or Firefox.
