So, what do you get in this year’s kit?
In terms of collectibles, you get an exclusive T-handle corkscrew and a stubby bottle opener, which Wera says are the first-ever versions of these implements.
You also get a T-handle Rapidaptor screwdriver bit holder, a stubby magnetic bit holder, a selection of 1/4″ hex power and insert screwdriver bits, a socket adapter, and 3 sizes of 1/4″ drive metric sockets.
The T-handle screwdriver handle with Rapidaptor bit holder is the star of the show, but the stubby bit holder also caught my attention.

Wera has decent products. If u buy a screwdriver, I recommend the laser tip variety. I wont be purchasing the callander. I get that it’s traditional with some guys. They could have done something really cool. Somthing exclusively available only with the callander. They chose not to. A bunch of bits is not going to get 60 bucks from me. Maybe next year.

I have Christmas 2018 Advent Calendar and love it. Prior to Wera, I’ve never owned a set of VDE drivers. I have been really impressed with the quality. I also have a tool check plus metric set. The one Wera tool that I’ve use the most is their T25 bit. I love using the construction T25 screws to build selves and benches throughout my home. I have used the same Wera bit to build 95% of all the selves and benches in my house. Plus, I built part of my deck with this bit. The bit just won’t quit. I recently purchased a big set of Wera T25 bits. I’ll probably never have buy another set in my lifetime ??

I have several Wera tools. I love the laser tip screwdrivers. The hex plus Allen keys are probably the best on the market. The tool check plus is a great little kit to carry around in a bag, or for a kitchen drawer. And I have a Zyklop roto ratchet that is handy in some situations. This years calendar doesn’t really get me excited though.

I have the VDE screwdrivers too and also love the laser tips. I bought the Kraftform kompakt multi-bit driver first and wasn’t nearly as enthused about it. The regular drivers though are great.
I’m curious about the T-handle in this kit. I use T-handles a lot working on motorcycles (in fixed sizes), but having the rapidaptor tip would give your fingers a place to rest while you turn the handle. That would be nice.

I started with a set of their laser tip screwdrivers after wearing out a set of Wiha’s over years of repairing audio equipment. They have been in daily use for 5 years now and are still like new. I’ve since added their insulated screwdrivers to my general carpentry tool kit and a bit check with the 1/4″ ratchet. I have only had to replace one piece, the rapid adaptor that got stuck in a client’s drill while I was in France. Wera is absolutely the best drivers I have ever owned. The advent calendar would be a good start for my 4 year old’s tool kit as well.

Wera is a very good brand producing quality tools but I am in Wiha and other German brands now. Before I did buy lots of Wera tools but not for the last two years, except XZN (M6, M8, M10, M12 50mm long) and SQ4 (50mm long) screwdriver bits, and the reason is for larger diameters/sizes in screwdriver bits in length longer than 50mm Wera screwdriver bits have 25mm length of hex shank, for smaller sizes the length of hex shank is 20mm approximately, I don’t know why!!! but thanks, I am sure it would be useful for others here.

You introduced me to Wera, and my wife to gifted me a Kraftform Kompakt 28 you advertised on this site for Christmas, and Tool-Check Plus set for my birthday. I keep them both in a pouch around the house, together with two small Knipex pliers and a few other tiny tools for all kinds of odd jobs; just today used it to replace tailgate bulb. Biggest project I used them for was three-tier wooden seedling stand.
Since then, also bought a 813 handle and small bit set for daily carry, another 816 handle lives in pencil mug on my desk, and I bought Kraftform Kompakt 40 (why it wasn’t 62?!) set just because I needed to use Walmart gift card, which I used in building a shed. I am addicted to Wera quality by now and will buy any Wera tool I see on sale.
VDE scredrivers set is the next on my list, then KOLOSS ratchet.

I currently have a set of screwdrivers in Phillips, flat and torx. They work great. I was skeptical on the handle shape when I first got them, but it has grown on me. I have looked at getting a Wera multi-bit screwdriver to keep in the house but have never pulled the trigger.

My experience with wera tools was when I bought the calendar from a couple of years ago that came with a screwdriver set, bottle opener, and a rapidapter. I wanted to try the drivers out because of the hype I had read online (and I do like them.) and I wanted the rapidapter and the calendar was cheaper than buy it it all separately. finally broke it last week by abusing it with a cheese grade nut driver driving tapcons into concrete.

I have used their Zyklop speed ratchets. I own both the metric and SAE socket sets and I love their superior quality and features. I don’t think there is a better ratchet in the market for low torque applications. Pricey, but worth it.

I own the Wera screwdrivers and I love them! I’m looking forward to the T-handle screwdriver. I had one like that before (from a much cheaper set) and I found it really helpful to drive screws and bolts quickly and comfortably.

I purchased a Wera 489 R T-Handle Rapidaptor bit-holding driver a while back and really like it. The Rapidapter makes changing bits a breeze, it turns off the magnet and releases the bit. No more fighting to remove short bits from a powerful magnet.

I work in IT. You never know when you are going to have to unrack a server or get into someone’s computer to chase dust bunnies. I keep a Wera Kraftform Kompact 20 7-in-1 screwdriver in my laptop bag. It’s collapsible blade and bit storage in the handle make it easy to stow away in a pocket. It also has the right bits to tackle about 90% of what I come across. I love this screwdriver.

I love the screwdriver with the popout shaft and bit storage, it is my most used for motorcycle and home repair to date. I love using my hex-plus wrenches in metric and SAE, but I’ve been wary of taking the leap to trying any of the “weird” handled drivers or ratchets. If I could find one nearby to try I might be sold on them, but I like my Swiss grip drivers and can’t imagine the wera’s taking their place. Maybe popping some bottles with this bottle opener will show me the merits of the wera handle shape.

Love love love wera tools. Use their zyklop ratchets and sockets all the time, their bits, their precision drivers, and their joker ratcheting wrenches. Their socket belts are by far THE BEST option available for socket organization in a mobile mechanics bag.
I’m looking forward to them expanding their zyklop selections in SAE sizes, especially the new impact sockets. Would love a set of deep impact SAE sizes eventually.

I have a small set of bits, maybe from an amazon sale or something, a demolition screwdriver that replaced my Milwaukee one that snapped, and a multi bit torx screwdriver. Now that I think about it, I have a bunch of specific hex T-handles. It’s funny I have odds and ends. While the demo screw drive has held up, I don’t like it’s rounded end (where you strike with a hammer) as much as the flatter Milwaukee. As far as the bits go, and probably much like the T-Handle hex, the fit nice and tight. Much better than the random no name ones in my collection. That’s why this set is appealing to me. Nice tight fitting bits with the bonus of Wera’s superb ergonomics.

Zyklop 3/8” ratchet – handle to short and kinda gimmicky but well made. Prefer a standard roto ratchet or a flex head ratchet. I wish I tried the 8004B ratchet instead.
Some kind of screwdriver with an extendable shaft the has a locking bit holder on it – great for the desk drawer at the office or glovebox.

I’ve never used Wetmra before, but I like the stubby T-handle design ; I work in HVAC and access panels on units are close to walls or other equipment, especially when the air handlers are above ceilings or in first or second floor closets. The handles also look really comfortable and made for high grip.

There is one Wera screw driver in the shop. It’s old and worn, I can’t say that I ‘use it’ much. It’s a #2 Phillips. I don’t see many Wera tools locally and I tend to buy basic screwdrivers in big sets. I can’t say that I have an opinion on the brand one way or the other.

I have several Wera hands tool from their Kraftform screw driver set with laser tip, SAE hollow nut drivers, Impacktor bit holder (not recommended, besides being too expensive, not many difference than any other bit holder. more of a collectible item), and their bit sets. I really liked their ergonomic handles. To be honest, I’m actually more interested in that stubby bottle opener haha. A good friend of mine got one of these Christmas Advent Calendar set years ago and gave me a yellow handle bottle opener that came with his set. I loved it. Living in Wichita we don’t have great a great selection of tool stores except big name stores, so Wera isn’t something I bump into. I am at a stage in my DIY journey that I now understand why power tools shouldn’t be used on EVERYTHING 🙂 Wera would be a great introduction to my new found fulfillment of manual tools. Also, growing up in England we had GOOD chocolate advent calendars, because your chocolate is generally terrible over here, reigniting my joy of Christmas through this cool Wera tool advent calendar is the least you (America) could do! LOLOLOL 😀

I have a Wera torx hand driver set and a color coded hex key set. Both are awesome tools, with the hex set the most used, followed by the Torx set. I mostly use the former for tinkering with my bicycles, keeping it in my bike tool box.
Most interseted in the T-handle, since it appears to offer convenient small space and a large enough handle for decent torque. The can opener would be a nice bonus, since I can never find one when needed!

Have too many Wera tools to list, but love screwdrivers include the tapered shaft VDE. I also particularly like both my smaller bit check and the larger but check. Both are handy to carry out to a project because you know you’ll have all your bases covered.

I have the Wera Tool Check Plus set. I especially like the ergonomic handles on the driver and ratchet. The knurled edges and color coding on the sockets is nice as well. Very high quality tools!
For the advent calendar tool set, I particularly like the stubby and t-handle drivers. They could take the place of all my old stubby Craftsman drivers. Would mean more space in the drawer for other new tools!

No – I never had the pleasure of owning an Wera tools before. This set would be my first. I’ve been building out my tools and shop over the past few years. Focused primarily on power tools and “got by” with my ancient screwdrivers, wrenches and the like for while. I’ve updated my sockets (regular and impact) now, have some great pliers (I went for Knipex in this area), and have finally been reading up on Wera as well over the past year. I’d love to try these out and get familiar with them.

Use a Wera Zyklop 1/4″ as my ratchet at work. Much better than the issued equipment. Have a set of Wera ball-end hex that I use when dealing with finicky screws. Also have a full set of metric Jokers, used them at work until people kept borrowing them. They live at home now and are only brought on for special projects. So they don’t walk off, you understand. Oh and a bunch of Wera screwdrivers at home for small electronics work.

I do not own any Wera tools but I have a very good friend who is a master carpenter/cabinet maker and he swears by Wear for hand tools. I have helped him in his shop a few times with projects for my former home and I found Wera bit drivers to fit well in my hand, work easily and not cause any strain in my after putting in dozens of screws.
Between my 4 bicycles, various home projects and even some auto and marine activities the advent bit set would be a fantastic addition to my tool chest. Even better the corkscrew and bottle opener will get lots of time for wine, beer and other adult beverages.

I just bought the 2019 calendar from amazon Germany (.de) for $54 total cost in US dollars. Great deal. Have a dozen or so Kraftform Plus drivers. Ignoring price, can’t decide whether I prefer Wera or Felo for feel/ergonomics. Have to say that factoring in price, I do prefer Felo. Plus, Felo offers 10 or so parallel ground slot bits, while Wera’s tips are the more common tapered style. PB Swiss slot bits also fit the bill, but again, are more pricey.
For hex keys and bits, though, prefer Wera over any others.

Wanting a small hex screwdriver I purchased two different models.
1) Wera 816 R
2) Malco Connext1 Quick Change Standard Nut Driver
Without a doubt the Wera was nicer, more well built, and much more comfortable to use. The Wera’s quick connect hex was also much more refined only needing to push the bit in for it to lock as where with the Malco you manually had to put it in by pulling back on the hex chuck. In addition the hex bit was better seated in the Wera compared to the Malco.
Not saying the Malco was bad, but the Wera was just that much better.

Heard of wera read about wera but never used wera cuz I never felt compelled to spend the money on wera. Perhaps a free advent calendar tool kit will convince me that they’re worth the money, maybe it won’t either way I’m ready to take the Pepsi challenge with some of my other hand tools. I’d like to find out for myself what makes them so much better and why they cost more than other leading brands and if there is any merit to the hype.

I think I may have once unknowingly used a borrowed Wera driver at a government site for a printer repair . (Handle looks familiar). I’m a firefighter and a rescue medic. Most of the stuff I do doesn’t require precision tools. It is pretty much brute strength and force and big hammers and bars. But every now and then entire job stops and you go halt in order to fine tune a tool or perform work that requires precision. I have two sets from Wera. One being tool check set which is amazing in rescue tool maintenance and repair and because of the size it fits in the inker coat pocket. It also comes handy for small rescue jobs such as kids fingers stuck in the bike chain and you need to loosen up the bolts. My second set is Kraftform screwdriver set which also is great for tool upkeep and small repairs on electronics like gas meters or radios. The only problem I have is keeping my tools secure so they don’t become our tools. I’ve stripped a lot of stubborn screws and bolts especially when you are rushing or under pressure. It never happened with Wera sets.

I own a few sets of Wera have tools- insulated Phillips screwdrivers, torx drivers, and a set of Joker ratcheting wrenches. I love them all, the grips are excellent and probably the best ergonomics I’ve experienced in any screwdrivers. The quality and durability is top notch as well, and I prefer the matte finish on their wrenches to chrome, to be honest. I have not yet tried any of their bits or bit drivers. I got a couple of calendars with tools a while back, but they were less expensive, one was a Woodcraft closeout. I love the rapidator and the bits. They spoil you for other brands, though. I also got a set of the torx drivers. Would love to have more, but they are pricey. I wish they would include something other than a bottle opener with this set, already have at least one from previous year, and don’t use bottles of this type. Maybe there’s an alternative use for the bottle opener. The T-handle rapidator looks very useful in this kit and I would love to have one.

Wera tools are great. I currently have the kraftform plus line screwdrivers in Phillips sizes 1, 2, 3, & 4. I have the laser tips on all but size 4 and the hexagonal shafts with hex nut on sizes 3 and 4 in case I need some extra help with turning stubborn fasteners. I also have an esd kraftform compact bitholding driver that is great for small electronics.

It uses the same bits that I use on my drills which is so great. I would love to own a lot more products by Wera but they’re out of my price range. I have the Wera Tool-Check Metric and a set of Wera Hex plus allen keys. The Hex plus system is a favorite of mine for high torque applications (I use them to work on bikes). The Tool-check is what I use for around the house tasks, and it’s great for that. Would love to try their screwdrivers at some point.

I have both the metric and imperial allen wrench sets, they are fantastic. I use them very often at work. I have some arthritis in my hands, with regular wrenches the sharp corners can be painful after awhile. The wera wrenches being round and a larger diameter plus plastic sheathed is a godsend. The extra length is also very nice for breaking stuck screws free without needing to get a pipe. Color coding is a bonus. Definitely worth the money for anyone who uses allen wrenches regularly.
Also have a variety of screwdrivers. Very happy with them, a pleasure to use.

I have a set of the Wera Stainless Steel screwdrivers (Wera 347903). I also have a set of insulated screwdrivers and a set of the Kraftform Micro Screwdrivers with the fabric pouch. I honestly like all of them. They have held up well and are my go to screwdrivers depending on the task at hand.
I was nervous on the investment, but I would do it again in a heartbeat. I like the ergonomics and build quality. Having spent so much on the stainless, I was slow to use them and I was worried they would hard to keep clean with the light colored rubber inserts. A quick wipe down with a Tub-O-Towels wipe and they look like new again.

I’ve used their bit and blade holders before. The ratcheting bit holder is very comfortable to handle, and I like the interchangeable insulated blade holders when working with electricity around the house. I’m looking forward to the t-handle and getting started with their sockets.

Wera screwdrivers are my favorite since I tried them out. I especially like the Kraftform Classic and the VDE 817 holder. You’ve gotta get yourself some, they are not much more expensive than Klein if not cheaper! The stubby bitholder in this set looks pretty sweet!
