Have you heard about Gearwrench’s new 120XP ratchets? They’re pretty sweet. The ratchets feature dual pawl gearing – which you can see in our ratchet disassembly post – that give them 120 tooth-engagement positions for a super-narrow 3° swing arc.
To celebrate the launch of the new 120XP ratchets and socket sets, Gearwrench is giving us 10 ratchets to give away to ToolGuyd readers.

I like Gear Wrench, because they last and I also feel “cool” using it and like the feel they have. Hope I am one of the ten Stuart!
James C
I’d like to try a better quality ratchet than what I have now. Sometime it seems like mine has about 24 teeth. I’m slowly starting to replace some of my older, cheaper tools with better ones. The old ones go to friends or second-hand stores so I don’t add to the clutter 🙂
Andrew
I’d like to try a 120 tooth ratchet and see what all the hype is about.
Adam
I just like to try out new tools. And free is always great too!
Aellynh
I’m relatively new to the brand, but I’m a fan of their sets of ratcheting wrenches and screwdrivers. Some pretty nice stuff, I’d like to add a few of their polished fine-tooth ratchets to my collection.
Eric
I’d love to win one– GearWrench has consistently delivered cool and above all else useful innovations in their tools. I’d also like to try their Double-X pliers- they look interesting.
Parke
I appreciate when Gearwrench improves on a current tool design. The Gearwrench Serpentine Belt Tool saved me a whole lot of time and trouble replacing the belt on my car.
Steve
I’d love to have a new ratchet. It’s gotta be WAY better than my old Stanley.
Thomas
Gear wrench, is now what I buy over craftsman. This would be great to see improvements over a none fine tooth ratchet.
James
I’m already a big fan of Gearwrench, but my father still uses Craftsman. If I win this ratchet I’m going to give it to him to try to get him to see the light.
Mike
I’d love to have a good ratchet to work on my car. It’s a classic Triumph Spitfire, so I work on it A LOT…
Steven
I’d love to compare that new Gearwrench to my Matco and Snap on ratchets. I bet it’ll compare favorably.
Henry
I like the 120Xp because it’s better than other brands’ 120 teeth ratchets. Oh wait, they don’t have one 😉
Metaleltr
Gearwrench tools are great quality. Even though most are of foreign construction their fit and finish rival some of the great american brands.
Brian
I would love to compare it to my 60 tooth Gearwrench ratchet, it’s great but hopefully this one is better.
D Butler
I’ve been using Gearwrench products for several years now and really don’t know how I got around working without them for so many years. They have saved me wear and tear more times then I can count. I have so many ratchets, screwdrivers, and torque wrench. I would love to try out this new ratchet as well as their angle gauge torque wrenchs.. Gearwrench for me, do they make Gearwrench work clothing?
Brandon
GearWrench is quickly becoming one of the best tool manufactures on the market. The fit and finish on every GearWrench tool I own is incredible, and the engineers must never get any sleep because their always coming up with innovative ideas. I’d like to give this new 120xp ratchet a spin against a certain 80 tooth I have in my box, nothing from GearWrench has yet to let me down.
Ian
I’d love to get something that would be an upgrade from the home dept social that I’ve been using.
Cliff
I like my GW ratcheting wrenches, have wanted to try out there other offering just haven’t taken the jump yet. This would be a good jump.
douglas kwan
im a fan of gearwrench stuff. good price and quality. i have a set of their reversible ratcheting wrenches. 8-19mm no skips. been happy with the set for the most part. i use them at work as a bicycle mechanic. the 19mm wrench does need to be sent out for warranty. the reverse lever locks up but it still ratchets, just stiff to reverse
Bob
GearWrench has several tools that make difficult automotive repairs possible. I would love to have one of their new ratchets.
Peter F. Kozacik
After reading your post on Tool Guyd and the follow up on Garage Journal–even though my ratchet collection is over flowing—I purchased the 1/2″ drive 120XP from my favorite Gearwrench online retailer Tooltopia. At that time they were out of the sets and only had the 1/2″ drive. I work on trucks and trailers so 50% + of my work time I am using a 1/2″ drive. So far it is living up to some hard use and since my other 1/2″ ratchets are older lower gear tooth count from ‘ the tool trucks’ I am really impressed!
Bruce Oliver
I love my flex head ratchet wrenches and my pass thru ratchet/socket set. I plan to buy the hex and torx bits for it and just found out they have a flex head pass thru ratchet that I now have to have. Why do I want it? Cause its 120-tooth ratchet, whats not to like
Jerry
I have a few gearwrench tools, namely their ratcheting combo wrenches, and more recently, their swivel head flare nut wrenches. In the case of every Gearwrench tool I own, if you really look at it, there is a lot of thought that went into it. The flare nut wrenches, for example, have a bit of taper to the head, to better reach recesses fittings, while being thicker towards the back, for more ‘meat’ to the head, for greater strength. They actually grip fittings in awkward places, than my buddies’ Snap On flare nut wrenches. Their focus on quality, value, attention to detail, and innovation, put them up there as one of the best values out there, for quality affordable tools. It seems that anything cheaper, is not as good, and anything better, is notably pricier. If the rathcet handles are made as good as my combo wrenches, I sure would like one in my toolbox. I’d even be wiling to review it compared to my current ratchets.
Rye
Looks sweet, love the branding on the head
Al
I own two sets of GearWrench ratcheting sets and pretty happy with it.
Fred
I have been eyeing the 120xp for a while now, definitely a sturdy well built handle.
Colin
I’ve always used gearwrench ratcheting wrench’s, and if their ratchets are anything like their wrench’s, they’ll find a permanent home in my toolbox. I’ve been a Snap-On and Craftsman fan, but gear wrench has definitely earned my trust. Thanks for the chance to try one out.
radu
I have pretty much all ratchets and wrenches that gearwrench offers, good quality – cool looking – and very practical ratchets, and the new 120xp is definitely on my “to get” list, just another good bang for your buck from gearwrench
mike
Right now the only thing on my GW wish list isoneof these new ratchets you’re giving away. I’ve used my stubby gearwrench 3/8″ ratchet for years without fail, and itis undoubtedly my favorite GW tool. I have plenty of GW wrenches and sockets that I have nothing bad to say about as well, but that stubby rat has to be my favorite of them all.
Mike U.
Have several Gearwrench tools, including a ratcheting wrench set that has been going strong for years. Badly in need of an upgrade of my current ratchets and have been browsing around various brands. This new Gearwrench 120 looks awesome and would love to add them to my toolbox.
Sean
I like Gearwrench for it’s affordability, durability, quality fit and finish, and from what I’ve experienced, reliability. These new ratchets are at the top of my want list. I’m a professional mechanic and something as smooth and useful as these would see a LOT of daily use from me.
Masuda
I really like the fact that Gearwrench took an innovative approach to the gear teeth game… not just making gears with finer teeth, but doing something different!
one thing I really wish Gearwrench will plan for the future…. to apply the 120XP stuff to new innovative design ratchets of different lengths, flex heads, cushion grips, etc. I think the 120XP stuff kicks snap-on’s stuff, but snap-on has their ratchets in many different configurations that is really attractive. if Gearwrench can bring to market a bunch of different ratchet configurations using the 120XP, and at Gearwrench price points… some folks at Snap-On will be soooo very upset!!!!
Justin
I’ve been using Craftsman raised panels for years, and got a Gearwrench flex head cushion grip ratchet and am blown away by it (it’s the first fine toothed ratchet I’ve ever owned). I think its only a 60 tooth, but the difference is amazing from the old cman stuff I’ve been using. It’s saved me a bunch of times working in tight spaces. I’ve been eyeballing a couple of the gearwrench regular ratchets to replace my most used cmans, and will probably get some when I get a little spare cash saved up. Love ’em.
andron frolov
I am a plumbers apprentice and use my gearwrench flex-head combination ratcheting wrench set daily. best wrenches i’ve ever owned.
Matt Parker
I think gearwrench makes great tools, but I really need a ratchet with more than 36 teeth. I’d be happy to test drive this thing!
Ceegardave
The last few wrench purchases have been Gearwrench. I like the quality and finish of these tools. I’ve passed on Craftsman and bought Gearwrench instead.
John Blair
Since the winner is chosen at Random, I like GearWrench tools because I think they would taste excellent if I were to eat them. But with 120 teeth, they might eat me. Now that I have thought that, I am very worried, please promise me that when I win my first GearWrench Ratchet that it will not eat me. But since my GearWrench ratcheting screw driver set hasn’t eaten me and is so handy, I guess I am safe.
Corey C
I own a small sports car that isn’t worth stealing, but its still worth fixing. If you’ve ever looked under the hood, there’s not much space there. I don’t even own a ratchet at this point, and I’m tired of borrowing. If someone had one of these to borrow, I might have to “forget” where I put it.
Ryan
I could use a decent ratchet like one of these to take the place of the hodge-podge mix of random ratchets in my toolbox that came from things found in my dad’s garage and rusty tools left in yards….. It would seriously outclass the assorted mix of sockets that are rolling around in the bottom of the box!
AndrewW
Its awsome that GearWrench is doing this. I have a Craftsman raised panel that served me well for years, but as I learn how to fix more I’d really like to have a fine tooth ratchet to take it to the next level. Looks like I could get the 120t in places my old ratchet would never fit
mike
I have Gearwrench sae and metric flex combo wrench sets, the ratcheting screwdriver set, an oil change magnetic socket that is pretty cool. I like the magnetic socket because it makes spinning the oil pan plug off MUCH easier with the grip while hot oil is leaking on your hands.
I’d continue to use my other ratchets with it. But I would like to see how it compares to my craftsman 84T and snap on dual 80.
John
I’m just starting out with my tool aquisitions and I’d like to try a better quality ratchet than what I have now. I have heard only good things about Gearwrench.
Tristan
I’d love to try one of these out. I’ve had good luck with my GW ratcheting wrenches.
Noah
The Gearwrench Quadbox wrenches are my daily go-to ratchets. I carry them everywhere. Every load in, every lighting hang, every set build – I have them. They are two of the most useful tools I own, no exaggeration. One of these new ratchets would be great to have and use daily instead of my grandfathers tired (but still fully functional) Snap On handle from the 50’s.
Brian
Every single GearWrench tool that I own is just phenomenal. I’ve yet to try their ratchets, so this would be a great start to that!
If I win a ratchet, it’s that much more money I have to spend on some GearBox XL’s! 🙂
James N.
I own about 30 GearWrench products including all three 120XP ratchets, so I would love to win the ratchet in order to give it to my uncle as a late Christmas gift.
Minh
Ive been waiting for these to come out! Working on cars there are so many situation where a tighter ratchet is highly beneficial. I already have their wrenches and LOVE them. Cant wait to get (win) these!!!
Humberto
Gearwrench are my go to tools. They get the job done without breaking the bank. This new ratchet is another example of a quality tool at a reasonable price.
Richard Bailey
Lots of gearwrench goodness in my tool box. However,my favourites are :-
1- Flex head ratchet spanners, always my go to spanner. Very good on old / classic cars cars where you can’t rely on being able to spin the nut off once broken loose.
2- Pick set, I wonder why I waited so long before buying one !
3- 3/8 long flex head ratchet. Great for putting some power to bust loose.
Cheers,
Richard B.
Kyle N.
I like GearWrench’s ratcheting wrenches as a professional tech. They come in really handy and I’d love to add a ratchet to the collection and use it daily.
Julio
I am studying to become an aviation maintenance tech. Most of my classmates are obsessed with Snapon Ratchets. Some of them even got in debt to spend thousands of dollars in tools. Most people think that you have to spend a lot of money to look like a professional. I’ve tried Gearwrench ratchets. As a matter of fact ,I just recently purchased the 84 tooth Gearwrench 1/4″ ratchet. And I looooove it! I am extremely happy with it. Great quality, can handle lots of torque, And has maximum access.
Can’t wait to try the 120xp.
Andrew K.
Just got my first Gearwrench tools (the ratcheting wrenches) on black friday and would love to try out some more of their products!
Wxm
The highest tooth count ratchet that I ever tried is 100. Hope I win one of these so that I can try out the t120.
Gregory B.
I’ve not yet had the pleasure of being a GearWrench owner, but have been coveting some of their products for many months. And now, I’d love to be able to pull out a ratchet and say “but it goes to 120!”
Will
I just like to try out new tools. And free is always great too!
minh
I love how GearWrench tries to out-feature the big guys. It seems that the branch have been quite successful with anything ratcheting. While I think 120 teeth is quite a lot and not that useful in most case, I would like to own one for those situations with limited clearance. Also, I would like to see now the stacked double paw design compares to the side-by-side double paw design of the Wright round head…
Jkrl
I have a GearWrench Vortex 13+20 mm (aka 1/4+3/8) full inch+metric set and it is definitely my go to set. After so many times that I could not close a nut because the screw was too long, and I didn’t have a long socket for the size, I decided that the hollow sockets are the way to go. I couldn’t be happier with the decision.
The only thing missing from the Vortex set is a way to work in angles, such as a universal joint or a flexible extension. This is why I need a good 3/8″ standard ratchet – so why not improve fine tooth access along the way with the GW 120Xp?
alan fick
if i should get lucky and win a ratchet i would share it with my younger brother as a joint Christmas gift – he is a very good mechanic – i wish i knew 1/10 of what he knows – we would have fun using it together – cheers and have a very merry Christmas
Leonel
I love the long, non-ratcheting, Combination Wrenches. They are strong and the extra length gives great leverage. I have all wrenches Now I need some ratchets!
Brian Buehler
I have one of their flexible spark plug wrenches which is much nicer than expected. One of the fancy new ratchets to drive it would be a great addition. Thank You!
Paul
Awesome promotion Gearwrench and Stuart!
I have a few different GW ratcheting wrench sets, pass-through sets, socket sets, and roto ratchets.
I put them to good use at work (industrial assembly) and play (car tinkering) and they have been very good tools to me; no problems.
I would LOVE to try out and put the 120xp ratchet to use!
I’m sure some of my co-workers would be jealous and have to buy their own 🙂
Kevin
I love the gear wrench brand been using their ratcheting wrenches since day one. cant beat them seen some of their ratchets the other day and was thinking about getting some for my box
Steven B
I have two sets of the GearWrench Flex combo wrenches that I really enjoy. The flex allows access to places that normally makes you want to break your forearm just to have an extra joint to get in there.
The 120 tooth would replace my go-to ratchet, the Harbor Freight composite. While I love the composite due to the fine teeth, I don’t always care for the shape and NOTHING beats the feel of chrome.
I have nothing strenuous to test it against, so I can’t be entered in that competition, but thanks Stuart and GearWrench for an opportunity!
Dave Greco
Absolutely love my Gearwrench X-beam ratchetting wrenches. As far as I can tell, Gearwrench makes nothing but top-notch tools
Cameron
Gearwrench makes some nice stuff. Good quality and reasonably priced.
Shawn
I like Gearwrench because they hold up to everyday use in my shop, I can throw them around and beat them up with no worries of them breaking or failing when I need them most. As far as the wrenches and other tools Gearwrench taking a licking and keep on wrenching…
David
I have the metric flex-head ratcheting wrenches and recently purchased the 20 pc. SAE and metric ratcheting wrench set.
I am very pleased with the quality of these wrenches and will be purchasing the metric flare nut wrench set soon.
skfarmer
i own quite a few gearwrench ratcheting wrenches and a lone 3/8 60 tooth ratchet converted to 88 with a matco kit and love it. i can only dream about a 120 unless i happen to win one!
Doug
I love the gearwrench stuff I have, No ratchet yet though!
Walty
I just recently bought a new Kobalt set on Black Friday. The ratchet is disappointing, there is a lot of slop between the gears. I want to upgrade it and saw this post. I would love to add a Gearwrench to my set, especially when it’s free!
Marie
I would love to win one of these because I am slowly starting out my collection of tools and this looks like a really nice ratchet. I have heard gearwrench is a great brand and I don’t have any yet, but eventually will. 🙂 When I test them out at the store they seem like real nice tools and from what I heard they are.
Mike Figueroa
I have more GearWrench products than I can count and would love to test the new 120 against the best that Snap-On has to offer. I would LOVE to see these in flex-head versions in the future!!
Thank You
Powertrip
Im just starting to amass a GW collection. What I would like to see GW produce is a line of hard handled ratchets identical to their cushion grip line. I think it would be a smart move and appeal to buyers who love the hard handle feel.
vgs
After buying bunch of GW tools such as flex ratcheting wrench metric set, SAW ratcheting wrench set, double box indexing set, roto-ratchet set, I would love to get my hands on the 120XP ratchet. I would like to compare it with the Triangle 120 teeth ratchet. Triangle is good but for every day work, I find it quite heavy and not as ergonomic as my other ratchets.
Tuff Lyons
I’ve been fortunate enough to pick up some GearWrench ratcheting wrenches and screwdriver sets. I love ’em! I would love to pick up one of these ratchets to replace my Kobalt piece. It’s ok, but it’s not what I’ve come to expect from GearWrench.
Clay
Long time surfer, first time poster.
Just bought my first house and one requirement: *must have garage*. I am the type who likes to get his hands dirty i.e. changing anything from oil to a transmission. Bought a 44 inch 22 drawer tool chest and being fresh out of college, I need tools to fill it.
I did pickup the Flexhead ratcheting 7-piece sets you have had previously listed in deals (SAE and metric both) and have been satisfied with GW.
90% of the tools I have bought since August have been because of Stuart and Toolguyd’s recommendations and deal postings. Even if I am no chosen for this wrench, just wanted to let you know to keep up the good work.
Brent
I’d like the ratchet because all my current ratchets (including the older Snap Ons) are low tooth count.
I work on a lot of different items in my shop. But mostly it’s old machine rebuilds and hot rods.
I’ve got Gearwrench reversible ratchet wrenches in metric and sae, x-beams and stubby sets of both as well.
I’d love the opportunity to own this ratchet and I’d be sure to post up a review with pics included for toolguyd.
Thanks Stuey and GearWrench!
Brian
I just graduated a few months ago and have since had time to work on my garage/workshop (I’m loving this “free time” thing :). I just bought the Gearwrench special at Sears, couldn’t be happier with my first wrench set. I am slowly but surely beginning to fill in my toolbox and this would be a very nice addition.
Tim
I have a couple sets of their ratcheting wrenches and really like their products. Seems like this wrench continues the trend.
Rylan Studinary
I love the quality you know you will get from gearwrench at a weekend- warrior price. All of my gearwrench tools have survived alot of abuse with no problems what so ever. I would love to sample their newest ratchet!
Tom
Huge fan of Gearwrench! In the couple years I’ve been building my collection, GW has been my go to brand! Great quality for a great price! Ratcheting wrenches, specialty ratchets (roto heads, flex heads, etc.) They’ve all been fantastic!
Kyle
I’ve been jealous of my buddy’s Gearwrench ratcheting wrenches for a while but I don’t own any Gearwrench products myself… time to change that.
Doug
I have limited experience with Gearwrench products, but I have used their wrenches and like them. I’m honestly tired of having to drive to sears every few months to swap out my busted re-built ratchet. It would be awesome to have something that might last a while!
Brad54
I reviewed some of the first Gear Wrenches available for Mopar Muscle Magazine when they were first released–both the standard length, and later the stubbies.
You know how long the original Gear Wrenches have been around! I have used, and abused, them regularly ever since–they replaced my Craftsman Professional wrenches in my tool box, and have been used working on vintage cars ever since.
I wouldn’t be without them, for any reason. Ever.
I have never used any Gear Wrench products other than the ratcheting wrenches–I’d be very interested in seeing how this new ratchet compares to my Snap-on and Craftsman Professional ratchets, including my fine-tooth models from each company.
Bill Strobel
Boy would I love to win a Gearwrench Ratchet. Then I could stop using my old Wizard ratchet that I bought at Western Auto in 1970.
turk
I don’t own any Gearwrench tools. In fact about 90% of the tools I own are old Craftsman that I inherited from my Grandfather, whom I never saw do any sort of mechanical work in my lifetime. Based on what I’ve seen on the internet, they’re between 50 and 60 years old. I’ve kept them in good working order with maintenance and care, but as the work I’m doing in my garage intensifies (moving from motorcycles and tiny little engines to cars with much bigger powerplants) it might be time to enter the modern world of tools. My budget doesn’t really allow for the more premium brands like you might find in a professional shop- I just want an honest tool at an honest price that will last me as long as my Grandfather’s tools have lasted. Perhaps Gearwrench is the answer.
Don
Gearwrench is the closest thing to a professional tool a consumer can easily get, IMO, without breaking the bank. Love thier stuff!
David H
I’d sure like to win one of the 120XP Gearwrench ratchets, I’ve never own so much as one of their ratchets 🙁 and I’d hate to end my life with that still being true. Somehow I don’t think I’ll find one under my tree this year. But there is always next year. I’d sure like to get my hands on one, thanks for giving us the chance!
David
I’d love to win one a GearWrench ratchet. I am more of a hobbyist and would use the tool to fix things around the house, I love the look of the GearWrench tools and would love to win a 120 tooth ratchet. I do some minor car repair on my SUV and would love to compare my current craftsman basic ratchet to this GearWrench and experience what the hype is all about for myself. I have been interested in the wrench set made by GearWrench as well and will probably be buying it in the near future.
Thanks.
Galina
The design of this Gearwrench 120XP Ratchet looks great. I would love to win this tool so that I can give it to my husband since I don’t really use tools much. This would be a perfect gift for him during the holiday season.
jeremy buening
I love the design of these 120xp ratchets. I’m still stuck with the 36t ratchet and have been holding off on buying a fine tooth ratchet, so this would be perfect timing. With the tight spaces of my Mach 1 that I’m restoring, this fine tooth ratchet could (and will) come in handy in many instances!
Some feedback to Gearwrench may be for them to look into possibly producing a composite ratchet, something besides all steel/chrome. This makes the ratchet lighter in weight, which can be beneficial on the larger ratchets like 1/2″ drive.
Alan Franks
Sounds like a great ratchet. It would be a great addition to my toolbox. Some of my Craftsman ratchets are getting a bit long in the tooth.
Jon M
I’d love to try one of these… I’ve been looking for a 3/8″ ratchet for general household + hobby use.
John Sullivan
My tool chest really does not have enough Gearwrench products inside, not to mention that this wrench with a narrow swing would put my others to shame! Crossing my fingers for a win…
Mel
I’d love to have a Gearwrench ratchet because I don’t have enough tools!
Michael F
This sounds like a very useful ratchet!!
Adam
I like ratchets
Mahalo
My crew is often left working in tight quarters when it comes to some of our fiberglass reinforced plastic pipe installations. A ratcheting design, with a short swing arc as found on the Gearwrench 120XP ratchet would help us out on the jobsite and I’d love to have one in the toolbox!
Bruce
I’d love to be able to replace my old worn ratchet with one of these (for free!)
clark
With a good assortment of tools collected over the years, I have never found a need to replace something with a Gearwrench product. A 120 tooth ratchet, though…… Currently I use a dual action Stanley in tight quarters, but that system leaves much to be desired when breaking a fastener loose. A 3 degree swing sound great.
Dan Dellea
Looking to upgrade from my craftsman raised panel ratchets. I own a gear wrench ratcheting screwdriver and love it. Love to be able to try the new ratchets
Derek Hartman
I buy USA tools exclusively. Gearwrench is the only exception to that. I find the overall quality of Gearwrench to be excellent; good chrome, good durability, good value. I would love to try this new ratchet.
Christopher Ingallinera
I’m an aircraft mechanic for a regional airline in Philly, and as such I’m constantly dealing with tight clearances and cramped spaces. I’ve been following the posts here on ToolGuyd regarding the 120XP ratchet since the beginning and would love to have a chance to add another GearWrench product to my toolbox. More recently I purchased their 56 piece ratcheting screwdriver and have been satisified since day 1. When I think GearWrench I think quality tools for a price that won’t make you sick. Would be nice to see a set of 120XP drives, I would definitely be interested in that in the future.
Bill Czygan
I’ve never even touched such a high click count ratchet. I have a number of Gearwrench products and find them very nice. I’m an average homeowner trying to do more repairs on my vehicles.
John Wu
I’m just an average guy who’s been building up a set of tools to do auto maintenance, and one of my favorite purchases has been the flex head Gearwrench set. The high ratchet count is great compared to my Craftsman 36(?) tooth ratchets.
I can’t even imagine how nice 120 teeth would be in tight spaces!
John Kesecker
I have a variety of tools in my chest, mostly Craftsman, some Snap On, Husky. I would love to own a Gearwrench 120 tooth ratchet. I hear great things about the product, and would really appreciate newer technology as most of my ratchets are old and well used.
Kurt
I have a Gearwrench 63 piece 3/8″ drive socket set and would like to have the new ratchet to go with my sockets.
Dustin
These look awesome, I’ve had my regular gear wrench ratcheting wrenches for years now, hate using any other kind.
Sebastian
I have been using Gearwrench for a few years now , I love their X-beam line.
AdmChesterMynutz
I’ve had great success using my GW ratcheting wrenches. The lifetime warranty worked great once I figured out where I would have to ship the broken wrench for inspection.
Bill
Wow sounds like a great socket, you can never have too many great tools!
TJ
Huge gearwrench fan, I only use their products and have been nothing but happy with them. I would love to get my paw(l)s on the new ratchets, idk what the price is but I’d probably not be able to afford them otherwise. 🙂
Tyler
Would love to try this against some snap on freaks at work!!
Jerrick
I’m intrigued by the 120 teeth design and would like to compare it to my existing gearwrench ratchets. I also love the warranty – I swapped out a 3/8 roto ratchet at Advanced Auto Parts with no questions asked. Gotta love quality tools, with, a great warranty, all at an affordable price.
AdmChesterMynutz
I had no idea that Advanced Auto Parts warranties Gear Wrench products. Thanks for the info.

Just returned from Advanced Auto Parts. The service was very good, friendly and helpful.
I returned one GearWrench 13mm ratcheting wrench (stopped ratcheting) and one GearWrench 14mm reversible ratcheting wrench (switch fell-off) for warrantee. Advance replaced the 13mm but did not have any reversible ratcheting wrenches in stock. They offered a choice between accepting a 14mm standard ratcheting wrench or personally shipping the reversible ratcheting wrench to GearWrench at my expense. I accepted the standard as substitute for the reversible. I did not purchase the wrenches from Advanced.
Although they did replace the broken wrenches, the staff instructed that Advanced Auto’s GearWrench warranty policy is to only replace broken/defective items purchased directly from Advanced Auto within 1-yr of purchase. The warrantee is good for use once per tool. If the replacement items are also broken/defective, Advanced Auto will not warrantee. Those items would need to be shipped to GearWrench at the customer’s expense.
The end of story is I have two new wrenches which is cool enough. Kudos to Advanced for their customer service.

My gearwrench stubby racheting wrenches make changing a side terminal battery a breeze.

I have had my GearWrench flex head ratchet wrenches for about 6 years. Best hand tool investment I ever made! They are the most used hand tools in my garage. High quality tools! I would toss my china-made, knuckle busting ratchet in the trash in a heartbeat if the Gearwrench 120xp ratchet made its way under my Christmas Tree.
sean
i have had a few, love them. Very durable, i dont know about this other guy Shawn above me, but i dont own any china made stuff in my box…..all american made! Hippy!
RCL
These would go great with the rest of my Gearwrench.
Many thanks
Clint
Would be very intrigued to try out the new technology. We have converted our entire shop(15 guys) into believers in for the racheting commbination sets. We have several sets that go up to 1.5″

I would love to have a new 120x ratchet. I have been buying and using Gearwrench tools for years. And I have always found them to be quality tools with a great warranty. I also love the extendable pry bar. Its a great tool.
Rick R
I’m not a pro so I don’t buy truck brands. I like getting value for my money so I have gone with craftsman for many years. When gearwrench came along, they anwsered my need for quality tool at a good price and the availability was even better as I can get them at my local parts store. Send me one!

I do not own any ratchets and I think these would be really good ones to start off with. Plus, judging by the past performance of GearWrench products, the last ratchets I will need.
Jason
Gearwrench is one of those brands that is underrated but performs really well. I own several of their wrenches and have always been very pleased with them.
These ratchets sound like they have improved on their already excellent ratcheting system designs.
Steve R.
Stuart–The innovations just keep on coming. A 120-tooth ratchet isn’t needed every day, but it sure would come in handy in a tight spot, when you don’t have the room for a wide swing. This would be great to have while working under the dashboard, or leaning down inside the engine bay of my car. I hope I’m one of the ten lucky winners, and thanks for setting up this giveaway for us.
Anton
I would to get my hands on this ratchet. My craftsman one has seen better days and theres no cash to upgrade anytime soon since were saving for a house.
Yadda
Contrats to GearWrench, great rachet. I would love to have one. I read about it first on ToolGuyd. This is a great website for new tool info and tool reviews. The videos have been very helpful.
Steven
The ratchets is supposed to be very NICE!!!!. I would love to have one for my workshop. My craftsmans are getting pretty old and a new Gearwrench would be nice.
joe
this ratchet would really make changing my lincoln air suspension bags a breeze. (not to mention make it easy for me to work on my car and family’s because i am the handy man of the house/family… my luck 🙂 ). last time i removed the nut from the bags i had a very hard time since there is very little wiggle room in there. if i like it, i may let my sisters boyfriend mechanic borrow it.
Brauch
Cool promotion to promote a cool new technology!
Mike
Sweet,I totally want a new Gearwrench ratchet.
Vahe
I’ve never owned any GearWrench products and would love to get a start! 🙂
Camaro
Gearwrench are less expensive than the those tools that are considered the top end, but just as good. I have the wrenches. I use daily at work.
Maikeru
I used to help my father work on his car long, long ago and he could only use ratchets in certain places due to the relatively large swing at the time. Now that I’m on my own I can see the 3° being potentially handing in my home and under the hood considering that these days space is at a premium. I’d definitely love to have one in my tool case!
David
I enjoy your website very much!!
David
I enjoy using gearwrench wrenches. When I am wrenching on my car, I always go to use them first.
novi408
I’ve been very happy with the couple of Gearwrench ratchets I have now. They seem to be a good value. I don’t have anything that has a tight swing, so one of these would be a great addition.
Thanks.
Gary Nelson
I use Gearwrench every day at my job and they have never failed me.I would like to try the ratchet the tight swing would be great for tight places
josh
i have some GW wrenches i like. that ratchet looks pretty sweet to
kev442
Gearwrench has become my go to wrench for several years. As my right hand becomes more crippled from my accident (scar tissue buildup), I have bought first the flex heads and then the x beam ratcheting wrenches. The added flexibility of using these wrenches overcomes the “fumble fingers” and I am almost as productive now as before.
I have been curious to see if a high count toothed ratchet would aid me the same way the wrenches have, but the big name brands 80 tooth and up ratchets have been outside my budget.
I will certainly give updates if chosen to receive one of these new ratchets from Gearwrench.
Joel
I never own a Gear Wrench before, but I’m always nuts about high quality tools, so hope I win one to somewhat satisfy my nuttiness.
Kai
Every Gearwrench tool I’ve bought has been great, I haven’t had a single issue with any of them. The 17mm indexing combo wrench saved the day tightening an inside exhaust manifold flange nut on my truck when nothing else could reach it.
Aaron
I’m tired of ratchets that are useless in tight spaces (which I seem to encounter frequently working on my compact car). This gearwrench would be great to get at fastners where there isn’t enough swing space to engage the pawls on a lesser ratchet.
Steven Kamp
Big Gearwrench fan. I have multiple ratches. Tons of ratcheting wrenches, pass though sets. I like Gearwrench because the quality is very high and the cost is reasonable. Would love this new ratchet.
greg crouch
i actually dont have any gearwrench tools, i’d like to try something out.
Chris Rivard
I need gear wrench ratchets because my wal mart ratchet set is seriously pissing me off lately. I have several ratchets and could write an essay on how much I hate each and every one of them!
UFrei
I am sure this 120 tooth ratchet won’t outlast my koken ratchet.
roger
mm.. 120 tooth ratchet..
i have some gearwrench ratcheting wrenches that work well enough. would like to try out one of their ratchets.
Edward beshoory
Damn and I thought my 60 tooth ratchets were the bees’ knees.
Joshua Latham
One of those would be so sweet. My Old Craftsman 3/8 started skipping and I haven’t had time to get to seated for ay replacement. Been musing 1/4 and 1/2 adapters for my 3/8 sockets.
Dennis Collatos
I would love to try out the new 120xp ratchet as I’ve used my tools constantly since I was about 11 or 12. I am currently in Automotive Technical School, and use my tools almost everyday and plan to make my living with my tools. Coincidentally my 3/8 ratchet being my most used tool by far, and ratchets in general are my favorite tool, again by a wide margin. What was surprising to me was that it seems like no student at my school loves tools as much as I do. And even more surprising was only 1 instructor seemed to share my love of tools. I introduced him to one of my favorite websites “GarageJournal.” My school is partnered with Snap On so I would definitely like to bring such a high toothed, quality ratchet to school and put it up against Snap on and see what its made of as well as introduce Gearwrench to other fellow future technicians. I do not own any Gearwrench products so I think I would be an even more ideal candidate.
Thank You!
ouredman
Always used Craftsman wrenches I bought 15 years ago, would love to try these.
susano
I’ve the vortex ratches and would love to give these a try.
Big K
Love my Gearwrench flex head wrenches. The u-joints they offer are great too. Would love to have 120 tooth richest for those tight spaces.
GMA 15R
I currently use 30 year old SK Wayne and Proto wrenches and they are great, but I would love to see if the new designs and technology of Gearwrench matches up.
Greg
Gearwrench ratcheting wrenches are good, time to try these…
David Davis
I’ve got some Gearwrench reversible ratcheting wrenches along with some stubbies and they are really great tools. I also just bought a set of the flex head wrenches but haven’t received them yet. I’d love to add this to the collection!
MarkW
I’ve been hearing about gearwrench for a while now, just haven’t committed to buying them yet, so I’d love to try them out.
Jeff Hirsch
the gears on most of my ratchets are starting to slip and time to get new ones…. this would be nice to win as I’ve heard good things about GearWrench tools.
John Fleisher
120 teeth? Interesting. I’ve been looking for a replacement brand since Craftsman started going downhill…
Antonio
I’m a working tech and around the shop everyone has at least one set of Gearwrenches. We depend on these and I have yet to see them let anyone down. I personally just bought a pass-thru 1/2″ drive set that has worked superbly at doing alignments, especially on Euro cars that can get tight in some spots.
O'Pauly
I have gone through at least twenty-five wrenches in the past 10 years. I don’t misstreat my tools but I also haven’t gone out and bought expensive ones either. I am always looking for a good tool and from what I have read this one has completely caught my eye. I am not a collector but do still have every tool that my Father gave me. He was a master mechanic his whole life and would have been 88 this coming Jan. Yes, he had an amazing collection of “classic” tools that are now mine. Hence the attraction to tools for me. I look forward to handing the Gearwrench off to my Sons.
Eric
I have a GW 1/4″ ratchet from last year’s Secret Santa that I really like. I have numerous other GW pliers, screwdrivers, sockets and ratcheting wrenches. All good stuff and would love to add this ratchet to the arsenal!
david
love my gearwrench torque wrenches (and, of course, the original gearwrenches) , love to try a 120 tooth ratchet
Chris Fultz
I like and appreciate that GearWrench is available from various sources and not a single location or truck. I am able to go to my local and nearest parts store and grab a quality GearWrench tool. I have yet to have my hands on a GearWrench ratchet, but I (and my father, whom is a Auto Shop owner) would love to try one on our many projects around the house and shop. I would truly appreciate the opportunity to compare this ratchet to others that I have been using.
Ross Griffith
The first GearWrench tools I bought was a set of ratcheting wrenches that I bought about 8 years ago. They endured a great deal of use and abuse over the years and are still working great. I purchased two additional sets last year. I wish I could add this 120XP ratchet to my collection.
Ken Burns
I’ve got the GearDriver ratcheting nut driver set in SAE & Metric. I also got the T-handle for it and I use it all the time working on small 2-cycle & 4-cycle engines. I love it!
Christian
I have a fair amount of Gearwrench stuff, most of it seems to be very good quality for the price.
I would love to check out the 120xp to see if it is worth upgrading all of my other ratchets to.
kill dozer
I do all kinds of mechanic work and have several tools from different makers and i would like to try one of these
William Delotto
Use GW box ratches almost everyday installing traffic signals and pole line work.
Storm Wall
Add a set of ratchet wrenches to my collection recently and found them to be a “go to” wrench. Would love to have this new ratchet and suspect it would immediately become my “go to” choice. Found gear wrench products to deliver excellent value.
Jerry
I dont own one but would love to see if the torque and the 3deg swing would be easier to use for a disabled person.
AnnMarie Komorowski
I would love to win this Gearwrench Ratchet for my husband.
William Chao
interesting i’m just getting into these tool site. cool stuff!
Geo
I’ve been using the Vortex pass-thru ratchet and socket since they first came out. I bought a 71 piece metric/sae set at a NAPA store and thought they would be a nice household set ,for the wife and kids, basically a novelty item. I own and operate a fleet of triaxle dump trucks and 8 pieces of heavy equipment,so I knew they would never hold up like my “real” tools for the tough jobs. Well, its been more years than I care to think about, and I couldn’t have been more wrong. That original set found it’s way into my shopand I became a believer. It and many other gear ratchet products purchased since have become my weapons of choice-no matter what job on which machine I’m going to tackle. In several cases they have literally made impossible jobs very doable and they always make servicing my fleet more comfortable and quicker. If this new addition is anything like the rest..I gotta have it.
DUNCAN
GW great, reliable & hard working tools. Been a diesel mechanic for 38 yrs have more snapon than anything else but for the past 20 yrs I use gearwrench wrenches & ratchets more & more they are as reliable as proffesional tools are. P.S Keep me in mind for the New Gearwrench 120-Position Ratchets. Thanks Duncan
Dustin
I love the Gearwrench wrenches I own, although I’m careful not to put too much torque on them. I have been hearing about the 120XP from lots of people…all good things. I would love to replace my old Thorsen ratchet with a new Gearwrench 120 XP!
Nathan
I have a few Gearwrench tools and have found them to be of real good quality. I most certainly would be well pleased to have a ratchet of this caliber. Please count me in.
Warren Pegram
We do a lot of specialty mechanical work for racers of all kinds and a wrench we can use to remotelyaccess nuts and bolts easily in crowded spots by one tech is a real time saver. beyond measure. We have a couple of specially designed tools we use and one of the rotating shaft types but they are 2 tech operations, not our favorite.. We’re looking forward to seeing one of these.
Warren Pegram
We’re looking forward to seeing one of these for ourmechanical work in difficulkt to reach plasces because its a one tech operaration, not 2 tech with our other tool for that service. That would be a real time saver.
Warren Pegram
you say it weon’t be published but apparently our com, ment was.
Spencer Cartwright
Love the GearWrench PassThrus. It’s acutally a money saver, I have just 3/8 drive passthrus and I don’t need anymore. The adapter hardly adds bulk. The best part, is if I need it as a passthru wrench it’s still an option! My flex head, ratchet wrenches are outstanding too. The GearWrench line jsut feels like the fit and finish is more polished and controllable. I’ve never tried the cushion grip but I’d love to, but first I want to enjoy the benefits of a 120!!!
Dan M.
Those ratchets look awesome.. I’d love to put it to the test at my shop. I really want to see how it does compared to the dual 80’s I have! Also is there any plans for flex head ratchets and pass-through ratchets in the future?
john
I’d put that ratchet to good use. I’m always working in tight spaces and hate it when my ratchet stops just shy of making another click. It makes a long task feel even longer.
Jim Suds
Sure could use a ratchet with a 3° swing arc for the super tight areas.
Chris
I’m in the same boat as a lot of others, I’d really like to try one of the new 120 tooth ratchets. I have quite a few of the GearWrench wrenches and have really enjoyed using them.
Dan
I’m in the tool manufacturing business, and I have been using the 120XP series as the quintessential example of a great tool made even better. We focus on specialty tools which haven’t been brought to market before, which is an interesting niche. The 120XP on the other hand is a ratchet, many manufacturers make them, and everybody already owns a few various makes (myself included). However, the engineering, design, and marketing behind the 120XP are just so great you can’t help but want one.
SeanT
Gearwrench is innovation!
Shawn N
I own many Gearwrench items and have had nothing but positive experiences with them. Would love to add this ratchet to my collection.
Robb
This would be really useful for working on my car. The narrow arc would help for those tight spots in the engine bay.
rhyino
This would replace my coarse tooth Stanley or Craftsman RP ratchet (if I can find it!)
I really like using the GW ratcheting combo wrenches.
JayL
In my case I find Gearwrench Tools to be the better bang for the buck purchases. Have been buying their products since 2007 and have yet to be disappointed. I didn’t have warranty problems thus far. Since I’m in the Philippines I had to send back the tools to the USA for exchange and so far only for a 19mm flex head wrench. 🙂
evan
i like gear wrench cause there quality for the price is unbeatable!
Greg Wunsch
These look like a promising ratchet. I have been using the 84tooth craftsman premiums with success, but these seem like a good option for a fine tooth ratchet. I recently picked up the flex combo ratcheting wrenches, which are a little less quality to what I had used in the passed, a step in the wron direction, but these Ratchets seem like a step in the right direction. I have been eyeing their ratcheting tap and die set for a while.
Jef Carpenter
Most of my tools are craftsman except for two sets of Gearwrench wrenches. I remember when I first got them being impressed with how well they worked and how much easier it was. I’ve been shopping for better ratchets, and have been looking at the Williams stuff, but if the Gearwrench ratchets are that good, I’ll just buy those and be happy.
Johnny Chaos
I currently own Gearwrench combination wrenches in both SAE and Metric. I like the reversible versions best (I own both reversible and non) I also have the flex heads and the stubbies. I use them all pretty frequently and don’t know how I lived without ratcheting wrenches for so long! I would not be without them now. Thanks.
Johnny
wayde gillingham
I think the brand name speaks for itself.Once you decide to buy Gearwrench brand tools you will never change again because you get quality tools and to me “Thats my story and I’m sticking to it”……Wayde
Chris Sparks
I just started revamping my tools and ran across some gearwrench tools that my father had. They seem to work great and feel great – I just started collecting all of the Ratcheting wrenches and I have compared them side to side with the Craftsman and found that these are well worth the money. I just purshased the Gear Wrench Standard Reversable for $39.99 through Sears. For the money there is no comparison. My next investment are all three of the 120XP Rathets. Hopefully I will need to only buy two.
Tomas
I’ve got a blue light special ratchet set laying around now, I’d love to upgrade to something of better quality. Hope I win!
Richard
Have had Gearwrench wrenches for many years. I do hope their ratchets hold up just as well
Donald Johnson
I’d like to win because I have never even heard of your brand until right this minute. If they are good, I’ll be glad to let the public know. If they are not? Well, I’ll be glad to let the public know that too. I work with tools every day & I need not good but GREAT tools. I’ll yell it from the top of the fire tower what ever the kind of tool it is good or baaaaad.
Larry
I don’t know much about hand tools but I have been reading and watching youtube to get familiarized with different tools and brand. My neighbor gave me a toolbox with some basic tools to work on my car. He also gave me lessons here and there on how to maintain my car. I think I am hook… I actually love getting my hands dirty!! I enjoy maintaining my car myself instead of taking my car to the mechanics.
I am now in the market of new set of tools. A lot of people have commented very positive feedback with GearWrench – it last a long time, excellent quality, easy to work with, and it stands out. There are plenty of very popular tools and I am sure some measured up with GearWrench. But why GearWrench? For the affordability, quality of workmanship and a well known brand in the industry, I do not need to look any further. I will be collecting GearWrench as my standard tools.
