We put Porter Cable’s new 18V lithium-ion drill driver through a few grueling tests and then into the hands of a contractor. We’re still putting the finishing touches on our review, but thus far it looks like the drill earns high marks across the board.
Porter Cable: We’re really proud of our upgraded 18V li-ion drill/driver!

Bruce
I’d like to win because my old Craftsman 12V driver is DEAD. I NEED a new one.
My favorite P-C tool is my angle grinder. It works GREAT.
Parke
That drill driver would be great when I add a deck to my house this spring!
I recently purchased the Porter Cable table saw PCB220TS from Lowes and it is an excellent saw that is very accurate and portable. The dovetail jig is on my wishlist.
David Martinez
I’d love that drill/driver to replace my aged and slowly dying Ridgid driver that is not as ergonomically designed as this driver. Thanks for the opportunity!
Steven B
I’m quite happy with my Hitachi drill and driver, but my wife tends to work alongside of me (I know, she’s a rare one) and we are constantly needing to share it back and forth (well, not so much since I added an Impact driver to the collection – now we mostly fight over THAT). If I win, it will be hers! I’d then need to go out and buy the PCC520B – the close quarters drill – or wait until they make a right angle impact driver to make additional use out of the batteries.
I’ve seen nothing but excellent reviews on the PC products, especially the new ones, but I went with Hitachi because I had an old Hitachi 14v NiCad drill that was still going strong and Costco had quite a deal on an entire assortment of the Hitachi tools (brand loyalty and price). I can’t think of a PC tool that has not been adequately reviewed elsewhere, so I can’t offer suggestions there.
Kevin
my 18volt nicad stuff is on life support, this would be a sweet replacement.
scott olszewski
I’ve been looking to replace my old Makita 9.6v drill with a Porter Cable. I just bought a new house and having the Porter Cable would make it much easier to do all the little things on my “honey do” list
Robert
I have an aging Craftsman and would appreciate the upgrade. These are particularly nice for the money.
Harold
I would love to win this Porter Cable 18V Li-Ion drill/driver, as I would use it right away to install new storage/shelving in my garage workspace. The PC tools that I have come across have all been durable and high quality, so this would be nice to have.
As for the catalog of tools, hands down my favorite is the 7424XP random orbit polisher. This polisher is considered a must-have in the automotive detailing world, and is a class-setter. Great tool!
Jerrick
My DeWalt driver died a painful death a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been eyeing PC but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I’d use it to build a new workbench.
PC compact router is on my wish-list!
Colin
I’d love to win one since my PC Max 12v driver isn’t cutting it for heavier duty tasks, it’s great for what I bought it for though . The torque on this thing surely will help fill the gap. I’d love to see the multi-tool reviewed since it is on my wishlist.
Thanks for the opportunity!
t1r2u3s4t
They should make an 18V impact wrench!
John
I really need to upgrade my cordless tools, and this review has me serious considering this brand.
Which Porter Cable tool is your favorite?
I think, just because it looks so cool, is the 18V Bare Two-Speed Close Quarters Drill.
Which ones are on your wishlist?
18V 4-Tool Lithium Combo Kit
Are there any Porter Cable tools you would like to see reviewed here on ToolGuyd?
Love to see that close-quarters drill reviewed.
A. Kimball Provencher
After a recent snow storm I have a mailbox post to replace, the Porter-Cable 18V Li-Ion Drill-Driver woyld work great. My PC brad nailer kit with compressor is my favorite. Thanks
Flea
I can’t believe this could be better than Bosch drills. I’m a diehard Bosch fan, but I hope you try to convert me to P-C products by giving me this thing. It does look pretty awesome in a Darth Vadar kind of way…..
Tom
My ni-cad batteries are not what they used to be. It would be nice to replace it with something lighter, newer, and better.
My fav PC tool is my pinner, or maybe my drywall gun. I have been wanting a lighter compressor. I haven’t noticed a PC router review.
Rhyino
Why? Because I need to drill some holes…
I really like the PC Tiger Cub mini recip saw. Wish they would put that back in production. Would like to see reviews of their air tools.
Jake
Just bought a house so I’ll have plenty of projects to use it on!
Lee
Because i don’t have one. Is any other reason necessary?
Doug
I need this!!!
Mike Hylton (Sarge)
My old drill is just that…too old, but my favorite tool is the Porter Cable Impact Driver. Tried one that my buddy has and it’s awesome!
Rocky
I’d love to win this because my current 18V Ryobi that I bought before I understood the importance of quality tools just isn’t cutting it anymore!
Jason
looking for a new drill to replace an old drill that just doesnt seem to cut it anymore
NCD
I now have a couple of tools made by PC. These have served me well.A new cordless PC drill/driver would be NICE.
Steven B
@Rocky – yep, I know what you mean. I have quite a few tools that I bought that fit this bill – for me it was cheaping out on pliers, cutters, and screwdrivers. Once I picked up my first Klein’s and Knipex, I was sold. I’ve been slowly replacing the craptastic ones with ones that actually work. Quality tools make everything go smoother. I do have several Harbor Freight items that work for me – you have to be careful, treat them right, and pay attention to overdoing it on the duty cycle (watch for overheating on the power tools). For precision jobs, hand tools, and long duty cycle power tools – where accurate machining and hardness is key – that is where you spend the money.
Steven
I really need to replace the 9.6v Craftsman drill that I am borrowing from my wife.
Paul Gatker
I would love to win this drill driver because I’ve always used Makita and I would like to see if Porter Cable can equal or better the Makita line of power tools.
Bill K
This new PC drill looks & sounds like a good one. I’ve been researching cordless drills for a while to replace my cordless DeWalt and B&D drills that are heavy and barely hold a charge. Thanks to the Tool Guyd reviews, I’m going to check this drill out for sure!
Jim D.
I need this drill to replace my 14.4 volt Dewalt that burned up.
Clayton
I would love to win the new Porter Cable Lithium Ion Drill/Driver kit because I would love to add Lithium power to my growing set of Porter Cable tools!
My current favorite PC tool has to be their 18v Impact Driver, I never knew how useful one of those things could be. Another PC tool that I am interested in is their 18v Hammer Drill, I would love to see you guys review it and see how it stacks up to the pro-grade offerings from Dewalt, Milwaukee, or Makita.
Jerry
I have a DeWalt 18 volt drill that lost high range, it only makes grinding noises on high now, and sometimes it pops out of low if I don’t have a finger on the gear selector, to hold it into low.
I hope that is a good enough reason.
I really like the looks of the P-C job site table saw. If I get a project big enough to justify one, or find a screaming deal, I think that may be my next tool purchase, once I replace the 18 volt drill. I figure I can get by in low, or use my plug in one until I win this contest (or find out I didn’t).
douglas
im looking at the impact driver from porter cable. would be great for disassembly
Fred
I really love my PC router. It will basically mount to anything. I think I’m spoiled, from bits to mount plates to bearing kits it feels like they’re the only one in the industry that really ‘sticks’ to their family of designs.
I like my PC 4.5″ electric angle grinder quite a bit more than any other I’ve used, air or electric. Not much to say other than it has taken everything I throw at it and still runs like new.
The drill would really be an upgrade for my dad & I, probably the weak point in our tools is the fact we only have an older 12v cordless & an older B&D corded 3/8″ drill from the late 70’s.
Good luck to everyone.
jay k.
Because good tools are dependable…
Chuck Forster
I’d like to win the 18V driver because I am in the market for a step up in power from my Milwaukee 12V. Which ever decent brand/battery system I first end up with will dictate where I spend my money on subsequent 18V tool purchases.
Tristan
I’d like to win one because all of my current drills are corded.
Justin
I’d like to win it so it can be used for the FIRST high school robotics team I mentor.
DC
I just want to win!! I am not super excited about any one specific product from PC but i do like the strategy they have for developing new tools! I am a big fan of companies that can try new ideas that are sound rationally and not necessarily at a high cost…
Urban Casavant
I own a Milwaukee ION 18V and impact. These are my main -go to- tools, but I have just got the Porter Cable NICAD 4 pc kit and this drill, somehow, feels just right. I can’t say that about the Milwaukee, nor the Makita 12v pocket drill and impact I have. Love this Porter Cable drill, could this Li-Ion be better?
Tyler
Why do I want the drill driver? Because my Ryobi has seen better days, and screws don’t drive themselves!
On my wishlist? The 12V Max 1/4″ impact driver. All kinds of uses for that much torque in a compact package.
Ken
Why do I want the drill driver? I have been in the market for a new one since my old Bosch bit the dust
james devno
I have been in the process of replacing my tools as I lost all my tools while deployed in Iraq in 2008 just need to replace with quality tools. my favorite was the pc can top cutter I had in the military great tool .
Joe
I need this drill driver because the color scheme of my Ryobi (vomit green) and performance are not getting the job done. I am a big PC fan and own many of their air tools and random orbit sanders.
sullivan504
It would be great to win this drill– my current go-to 18v (let’s just say that it has a lot of yellow plastic) is starting to come apart and the battery just can’t keep up with me. Time for a replacement, and I’ve been thinking about Porter Cable as a good choice.
For the extra bonus entry, I want to answer a couple of the questions, if that’s okay. First off– my best-ever-favorite-favorite Porter-Cable tool is actually no longer in their catalog: the FCN 200 Flooring Nailer. It never let me down… unfortunately it was very attractive to a thief who nabbed it from a jobsite. I missed a chance to grab a replacement on clearance from Home Depot a couple of months ago and still regret not jumping on that deal faster. My second favorite PC tool is my Palm Nailer, which surprised me with its versatility on the first day and made me wish I’d bought one sooner. Next, my wishlist: I need a new power (hand) planer and really want to check out the Power Paint Remover. If ToolGuyd has an “in” with PC and wants a third-party review, I’m your man for the job!
Finally, a comment in the hopes that PC reps are actually reading this: your Model 314 Trim Saw is a very good tool, but I’d like it to be great. Charge $10 or $20 more if you have to, but put a better shoe plate on the bottom, PLEASE!
ciccio
This is what i need for my just started handyman business
I have an hitachi 12 v, but can’t afford a big one.
Hopefully one day……
ERIC MILTON
I have an aging dying nicad Craftsman that had done well through much of the repair caused by Hurricane Katrina, and would appreciate the upgrade for I still have more to do. This drill/driver would be an added boost to finish (as if one ever finishes) house repairs.
Best Porter Cable tool is the oscillating multitool. It has made many jobs easier and quicker.
Vince Buzek
Just ran my Milwaukee over with my truck. REALLY need a new drill/driver!
JRod
I’d use it to drill holes in my dead 18 volt Ryobi batteries!
JRod
I have the PC multi-tool purchased from Amazon before Christmas. So far, great tool. Only concern is the velcro sandpaper attachment, as the edges quickly melted and I’ve had to learn a work around.
Mark
I could really use this one. I have been eyeing the Porter Cable “newer” drills now ever since they came out with them, and really would like to have one.
Jason
I would give it to our ladder company at the fire department. Our old Ryobi cordless finally died and our truck could use another drill/driver. Never know when you’ll need it.
SawdustTX
Because my other portable power tools are Porter Cable – except my cordless drills. Would love to get started replacing them with the good stuff!
Ronald
The famed legacy, innovative ideas and up-to-date technologies makes Porter Cable a solid choice. A no-brainer solution in looking for a great tool more then enough to perform and withstand.
Dalton Chambers
Because i am young, broke and trying to build up my tool box for work! Good tools arnt cheap it seems.
Ken
I need one of these because my brother has one, and I can’t let him get too far ahead of me.
Steven
PCL180CDK is on my tool list. Need to replace my old tools
Bill
I would like the new drill driver From Porter Cable because my old horse is hardly holding a charge, can you say 15 minute battery life!
Jeff
I would love to win this lithium drill driver. Currently I am using an old corded drill as my drill driver. This would bring me into the current century.
My first and favorite Porter Cable tool so far is a finish nailer.
If I win this prize, I promise to use this to save puppies and kitties from burning buildings, solve the energy crisis, and end world hunger. O.k. maybe I won’t do all those things, but at least I would stop stripping poor innocent screw heads.
joe gravelle
I could totally use this for some home improvement projects around the house.
Jaw Bone
I would love to win this drill because I have a few of the Porter Cable 18v tools and I absolutely love them. Unfortunately I only have one battery because they are so expensive. I would totally put this drill to use on my old boat that I’m currently restoring.
Gregbert
I need another drill around for the girlfriend who always wants to join me on my side jobs.
A cool tool out of porter cables catalog is, the too-less change multi tool.
James
I would like to win this new drill because I am not yet in to an 18V system, and I have found myself needing more cordless power than I have.
For bonus entry:
Favorite: 6 inch bench top grinder
Wishlist: portable tablesaw
Review: Model #450PK 1.25HP Max Torque Compact Router Fixed/Plunge Combo Kit
Schmidty
I’d like to win because my old drill is ancient and never very good to start with.
Beth
My favorite Porter Cable tool is the 5″ Random Orbit Sander (Model 382) because I don’t know how I lived without it. Actually I do, and if I hadn’t have gotten this I would have very arthritic elbows by now. The 18-V LI Drill Driver tops my wishlist because I love ergonomic mutli-taskers. Please review the 1/2″ VSR 2 Speed Hammerdrill. Thanks 🙂
ted kohn
My Craftsman drill is 8 years old, the batteries are weak even on a full charge and it spins out of round. I like PC products and would love to upgrade to such a nice drill…
ted kohn
I’ve got a few PC tools. My favorite is my jigsaw. Plenty of power, good built in light and the orbital feature is handy for ripping fast cuts through sheet goods and what not. Top of my wishlist for a new PC tool would be a lithium drill or impact driver. As for reviews, how about the PC bench grinder? Looks like it has pretty good tool rests on it.
Bruce Brewer
my 9.6v cordless just can’t handle driving more than a few 3 inch deck screws at a time even with pre-drilling. The porter cable drill driver would be a fantastic replacement to help finish the garage shelves I am trying to put up.
Zach Bailes
I would love to own a Porter cable 18V li-ion becasue my 14.4 Dewalt XRP drill driver is all but dead. it smoke for the first 3 seconds of use everyday, and battery life is less than desirable.
Zach
Paul Lent
I would love to own a Porter Cable cordless drill driver. Porter Cable has a reputation for making quality tools and I would like to own some of their tools, in particular their cordless line. I have multiple projects ongoing at any time so this tool would be a definite asset to my productivity.
Richard Haar
I’ve always heard that Porter Cable made the best power tools but I never believed it. How could any drill be better than my Makita which has lasted for 12 years?
krzysztof zagaja
my old drill is 8 yrs old.no money to buy new one, hehe.maybe i get lucky and i will win this one, will see.
Jeremy Caldwell
I would love to win this drill. It would replace my previous Porter- Cable PC180DK that was removed from my possession by some cretin.
Michael Preston
This would be a killer replacement for my Hatachi that just isn’t cutting it in the glass business.
Joan Adolf
My hubby works hard and tools wear out. I know he could use a new 18V drill driver.
Buster Moore
I already have some Porter-Cable corded power tools, and they are great! This would be a great replacement for my old, worn out Black and Decker cordless drill.
Michael Preston
I’d also like to add this to my “Wish List”
PCL120MTC-2 Oscillating tool.
lisa todd
I have a PC drill, but I would like to have a backup.
Rebecca Graham
I would like to win this because my husband and I are going to start building a new outside deck soon.
Randy Pearson
A new, quality 18v drill would be a god send as mine is on it’s last legs! I would put this one to a LOT of good use. Thanks for a shot at a great drill.
Paul
I could really use a new drill/driver my hands don’t work as well as they use to
Tiffany Hearn
My husband broke his drill so I would love to win this for him! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
Jason Martin
I work on the Bering Sea where it is very unforgiving on tools. I could use this one to replace the tired and worn out other drill since it takes an act of congress to order new tools haha Please help!
Bill Wolcott
I really need a new one, my 14.4 Craftsman’s wore out. Plus it will match my P-C saw.
Matthew
Because if I won, you will have inadvertently saved someone’s life. Namely that of the sales associate who talked me into buying the worthless garbage Ryobi drill.
doug rogers
I really need this, I do maintence work, and it would help me put food on the table for my family…
Eric Meyers
I would like to win because none of the batteries on mine will hold a decent charge any more
Erich Wenis
I’d love to get my hands on this because after 10 years, my 14.4 Porter Cable drill still works but needs MORE POWER!!
If there were any other tool I’d love to get my hands on it would have to be the 14″ band saw PCB330BS. Craftmaking at its best.
brian
summers almost here, need this to build a swing set!
Robert Renner
My 19.2 v driver is really heavy. I know the 18v one is lighter.
Erik Houser
My 14.4v Bosch is good……but I need longer life in a drill.
Matt Regenold
MY current drill (brand will be left out to protect the innocent) is quickly meeting its demise. The addition a Porter-Cable drill driver would make me the envy of the neighborhood. I will have to say that my PC table saw is my favorite and I on my wish list is the Orbital Reciprocating TigerSaw®.
Eddie Blaxton
The battery in the old battery drill just can’t hold up anymore.
todd
a slick new driver would complement my other Porter Cable tools, i love my routers, new ones and old ones, all set up for all sorts of tasks.
Marci R
My husband and I are building a house and I could totally use one!!!
Von Taylor
I could definitely use a new drill. Mine are old and heavy. I have gotten to play around with the 18v Lithium Ion Porter Cable drills at Lowe’s and it nice and “light” and powerful. I have tons of projects that would use that drill.
The Porter Cable tool on my wish list is the PORTER-CABLE 15-Amp 10″ Table Saw. Model: PCB270TS
Larry Gaines
I could really use this to replace my B&D and Ryobi cordless
Will Aldridge
I would love a new Porter Cable drill! My 12v Dewalt is finally dead and I need a better replacement!
I love the PC18ID Impact driver!!
Bob Pawloski
I would like to win this amazing set because I could use a little bit of amazing in my toolbox.
Scott Kuykendall
I would like to have it since it Porter Cable, do I need to say any more.
Chris Danke
Almost all of my tools (power and cordless) are Porter Cable. My old PC 12volt cordless is about dead, a new one would really be helpful.
Brian
I love my cordless porter cable angle grinder the most.
Richard Meek
This drill would be a great replacement for my Makita 9 volt Ni Cad drill.
Gary Baltz
You can never have too many Porter Cable tools! They are great quality! I am looking for a new drill/driver, this would be great! I love your 690 router I use it almost daily.
Michael Thornburg
I can let my 20cc Craftsman go… 20cc because of late when I use the drill smoke blows out the back side. So yes 20cc is a joke but the amount of smoke that comes out of my drill is not.
Carol Y
My dad would love to have a Porter Cable Drill Driver. He is always looking for the best tools for his shop.
Stewart
I could replace my old one with a broken case…but it still works
marty
boy this would really make putting together cornhole boards a lot easier.
My wish list more PCB tools. Any of them!!!
Scott Kershaw
Ryobi is crap and I am tired of my cheap, underpowered, chews through batteries drill. Porter cable rocks and if I could afford it I would own only PC tools!!!
Which Porter Cable tool is your favorite? Thus far, the PC15CSLK Circ saw is my favorite. It’s got great power and is top notch out of the box
Which ones are on your wishlist? I have two. The PC 270 stationary table saw is the top of my list. I drool over it daily!!! I also want a 892 router, too!
Are there any Porter Cable tools you would like to see reviewed here on ToolGuyd? Routers and the table saw.
Josh
My other cordless drill batteries are no longer holding a charge.
Andrew
Free tools!
John Miller
I would love to have a porter cable drill because I don’t own one yet. I know this is a pretty weak reason, but I love drills and collecting them.
As far as what porter cable tool would I like to own, it would have to be the contractor table saw. Nice stuff.
Bill Strobel
I’d love to win this drill, I’m still using a corded Black & Decker 🙁
Jeff
Would love to win this. Am new to remodeling and woodworking and need to build up the toolbox.
Robert Coons
I’d like to win it ……. primarily because I don’t have one.
Rebecca
Hi!! I want to win because then I can use it to work on DIY projects! Yeeeehaw!
ED
I need a new PC drill because my current drill is a piece of crap. I had to run out and buy a replacement drill when I dropped my PC off a ladder and killed it. The store did not have PC and I was in a rush so I made a bad choice and bought another brand. My favorite PC tool is my ancient 6902 router. I have been making cabinets and furniture for longer than I care to remember and my router not only still works like new, it looks relatively new too. The only repair it ever needed was a new power cord when I accidentally ran over the cord with the job box and cut it.
Claudia
I’d love to give the drill to my husband for our anniversary.
MANUEL ALBERTO DELGADO
im a electrician.so i use power and cordless tools.i also work in remodeling and rewing old homes(some of which dont have power)a cordless drill is practical.i have other tools from porter cable.but not this one.SEEMS TO ME IT WOULD DO MY JOB TASKS WITH EASE.
Vincent Gentile
had 2 craftman drivers die on me. cant afford a porter cable. could really use a new one
Darrell Tran
I would like to win the new Porter Cable 18v drill. I Plan to remodel our patio this summer. I only have a corded unbranded drill and it is not working very well. The chuck often jammed and it so hard to change drill bit. With a new good cordless drill, it will definitely save a lots of time.
Bill K
Now that I’ve checked this drill out locally, its at the top of my purchase list (if I don’t win), along with a new orbital sander. My PC profile sander is still going strong, I just need something bigger. Thanks ToolGuyd for the reviews and info!!
Betty Fellows
My husbands Makita is about “done for” after 8 years of making all the things On his Honey DO List in his workshop. This PC would allow me to keep him busy another 8-10 years!!
Steve
My firestorm is dying so I could use a new drill.
If I could pick anything – I’d go for the new tablesaw. My craftsman is a cheapy, and I hate the fence. My father just bought one and loves it, but I don’t want to have to drive to his house each time I need to cut something.
So, please review the tablesaw next and hope they give a lucky reader (ME!!) one of those.
Michael Yang
I love this line of tools. The ability to convert from Ni-Cad to Li-Ion is great. I need this drill to replace a corded DeWalt that has seen brighter days.
My favorite Porter Cable tool is the 18V Impact Driver. This came in very handy when installing a pull down attic stair well. It drove the lag bolts straight in, no pre-drilling. I’m sold on this line of tools, very versitile and well supported by Porter Cable, looking forward to new bare tool offerings from Porter Cable.
mark mihalko
I would like to win this so my wife could have a drill of her own !!
Colin Haza
I have been making do with a Ryobi 18V kit. The Porter Cable would sure be a step up for me.
Travis Sexton
would love to win it because I don’t have any lithium battery powered tools, can’t decide which to try. My old ryobi batteries seem like they last even less time each and every time I charge them….
chris adams
I usually can’t afford to buy PC – I have a PC router set that I love, and an biscuit jointer that was a gift. They are amazing tools. I had a 12v Rigid drill that just dies, so I am currently “drillless”. Boy do I need one!
Jason Cooper
My current Black and Decker Drill/driver is laughable when compared to anything Li-Ion, but the PCL180CDK-2 will make it look like a childs toy.
I currently have a small collection of cheap tools. These cheap tools have taught me that when you buy cheap, you will be buying more than once.
My Porter Cable router is/was my first “real” tool purchase, and has shown me that a quality tool will last longer, work safer and more efficiently than the cheap stuff.
jeepnut
I want to win because I can’t afford to replace my broken Royobi drill driver.
Dana Esker
I’m starting a toolbox that’s OFF limits to my husband and I could find a perfect place for this inside it.
Mikki Cross
My daughter bought a “money-pit” and to win one of Porter Cable’s new 18V lithium-ion drill driver would be a Godsend.
Add to my wish-list one of Porter Cable’s brad nailer kit with compressor.
Thank you.
fran
I would love to use this baby on the summer tree house I am building for my kids. What better way to spend these nice spring weekends.
Gene Dahlke
It would replace my Panasonic 9.6 volt which has died. I recently retired so this would come in handy.
Melissa Vaught
I would love to win this for my husband. He had his good drill stolen from a job he left it on, so now he doesn’t have a drill at all. He really needs a new one, and that way I can get him to do more projects around the house! Thanks for the chance to win!
Nathan Cranmer
I would love to add the Lithium powered drill to my collection. I have some PC tools with Ni cad batteries and this would upgrade my whole set. Thanks
Richard Callis
Porter Cable: Do you think one of your readers would like to win one to use in their Spring home improvement projects?
ToolGuyd: Definitely!
I just couldn’t agree more !!! As long as it’s this reader . LOL
KL
I haven’t tried any of the PC power tools. Maybe this is my chance?
Kelly Lamb aka Sew Lambitious LLC
I would love to win this drill! I have a nightmare renovation 1920s home. I’m a 40something divorced woman and have finally finished renovating the addition with the help of my mother. I need good tools to tackle the rest of the house with major problems! Thank you for the entry!
Jon M
Want.
Kelly Lamb aka Sew Lambitious LLC
I think that the 18V BARE HAND VAC would help me with managing “clean as I go” when working on projects on my old 1920s {nightmare} home. It would also come in handy to use in the car. Thank you for the additional entry!
Kelly on FB
Steven Biars
Looks like a nice drill. I like the ergonomics of it, which would come in handy when it comes to working on some of the projects I build for disabled kids and adults at the Amazing Workshop.
Steve
Looks like a nice drill, it’d be a nice upgrade from my old 7.2v Makita!
t1r2u3s4t
Is there a new version of the impact driver or wrench as well?
victor
I need this to replace my Milwaukee..
Dane
I think that looks like a great drill!! My Cman has done pretty well over the years but just doesnt cut the mustard lately. I plan on putting up a new fence this year, maybe I’ll have to look into the P-C!! Thanks for the review Stuey!
Jim Hudson
Stuey’s the greatest…..
Henry N.
In for the giveaway!!
Donald Miller
Would love the opportunity to enter and replace my old drill… thanks!
Doug Barnes
I would love to win this driver to replace another aging Porter Cable driver I have used for many years. Thanks P/C and Stuey for the giveaway!
Michael
Count me in! My 12 volt Black and Decker is done taking any of my abuse. I pull it off the charger and it just laughs at me as I put a bit in.

Thanks for hosting this give-away. I looked over porter cable’s website and found myself going directly to their impact driver – PCL180IDK-2. It really is true, once you use an impact driver on long screws – you’ll never want to go back.
Andy
I’d like to win this new drill because I’ve been a porter cable fan for years. I love my non lithium ion porter cable drill, so I’d love to have the newer lithium model. Also I never win anything, so this would be sweet.
mike
Would love to win one of these. My current cordless stuff is all slowly dieing off and it is soon going to be time to replace the entire set. I have been looking at P-C as the set to go with for the future.
Favorite P-C tool: My framing nailer. This thing just works and has saved me many hours of nailing. I use it far more then I ever thought I would.
Brian
I’d like to win this set because I don’t own ANY cordless tools at all. I had a cordless drill years ago and found that it was lacking in power. When the batteries finally died, I never found it really worthwhile to spend the money to get it working again, so I got rid of it entirely. I’ve been using my corded drills that are just about as old as I am and they still work great. Lots of torque and when I pull one out of its case, I know for sure it’s going to be me that calls it a day and not the drill. But I’d sure like to try the newer cordless tools to see if they’ve actually gotten much better or if I’m still just better off just staying with my good corded drills that never let me down.

I’ve been a fan of PC since the early 90’s when I used the 126 Porta Plane to fix 200 windows on a huge old mansion that was getting all new sills. That along with the 1.5 hp router made me a lot of money and saved me a lot of time. I have never had one of their drills however.
I’d love to see how PC has improved over time.
Mike Kowalski
I recently had my garage broken into and the majority of my power tools stolen. I could sure use a good quality drill like this to get started rebuilding any collection.
Mike Kowalski
Also from the catalog I would most covet the 12v MAX† OSCILLATING MULTI-TOOL KIT. The 1-1/4 HP Max Torque Compact Router Combo Kit is on my wish list and I would like the PC305TP Planer reviewed.
Rylan
awesome site stuey! great reviews and easy to navigate! bookmarked! excited for the giveaway!
Chris G
I sure could use a new drill. My 18 volt Riobi is on its last leg. It would be nice to have a drill fat actually works
Jonathan

robert

Eric
I’d put that thing to use in the garage and see if it out performs my Dewalt. You can never have too many tools.
Bill Czygan
My favorite PC is a 20″ 3ph Disc Sander.
Would give this drill to my grandson for his first power tool.
Charlie Magocs
I would love to put this drill thru the paces. I think I’ve owned every brand of cordless dril except the Porter Cable. I would like to one day get the PC multi-tool, that’s something I’ve wanted for a while.
Joe Gravelle
Because I need a drill?
Karl
This would a great gift for one of my teenage sons.
Bill
I would like to have one, all I have now are corded drills.
fflintstone
I want to win this because my 18V milwaukee batteries wont hold a charge.
Dustin
i want to win cause i dont own a cordless drill and this would help me on the road instead of having to lug a cord around
Bob Lovelace
Could definitely use a new drill.
My two Craftsman (one corded and on cordless) have just about given up.
Bill Strobel
Sure would be nice to win this drill so I can stop using my B&D corded drill
Kyle
Free tool are always good tools!
Nick
I only have a corded drill and a cordless would really come in handy.
Tom
I could really use a nice drill, which I can not afford currently….
Mike D
Porter-Cable hammer drills always outlasted the competition when I was hanging ductwork. Also, Stuey rules.
RKA
I’d like to win one for my dad. I gave him a bosch drill driver because he needed something, but let’s face it, a drill driver is not a real drill!
The #382 RO Sander is on my wishlist, and the tool I’d like to see reviewed…probably the 18v impact driver. I’m curious how it compares the the dewalt you previously talked about.
crewchief888
i could really use a new cordless drill for my service truck
Val
Cause NI-CADs are getting tiresome to keep charged!
Chad B
Great looking drill! The garbage ones we have at work could be thrown in the dump and replaced with something usable and nice.
Zorac
I was trying to drill a 3/4″ hole with an auger bit using my 9.6V drill, because I didn’t feel like getting my corded drill and an extension cord out. It just barely worked, very slowly. It would be very nice to be able to drill some bigger holes one in a while.
Luke
I just got a job working construction. Have been out of the trade for almost 10 years and no longer have a good drill. I need one desperately!
Peter T
When it comes to buying drills, I’ve always chosen Porter Cable. I have a 10+ -year old 12.0V Model 8623, that has lasted well beyond it’s years, but it’s living on borrowed time. I am planning to replace this with a newer technology, definitely Li-Ion, and the PCL180CDK-2 is the drill of choice.
My corded drill is a PC650HD. It rocks, but it packs more power than I am brave enough to use on most jobs.
When I build my tool museum when I retire, these will be in the main display.
Dave W
I am still running a ancient Makita 14.4. Bought my brother a Porter Cable combo kit for Christmas. Now he won’t let me borrow any of his fancy cordless tools. Guess I need to save up for one of my own. That free driver sure would be a good start though.
Robert
There was a time when anything from certain manufacturers was generally good stuff. Some of them however, Porter Cable being one, have divided themselves into two categories. One category is the high end “professonal” tools that they’ve always been known for. The other is the lower entry level that are intended more for occasional users.
If you’re willing to spend the money on their higher end, that’s generally what you get. You can no longer arbitrarily assume however, that it’s all great by sheer virtue of the fact that is says Porter Cable.

I’m a contractor and build custom homes I use drills and other various tools everyday.I am in contact with other various contractors daily and the tool brand of choice for professional contractors from what I see is either dewalt or porter-cable I have been a fan of dewalt brand for the past several yrs but I recently purchased a pc combo kit with a drill and driver and am very pleased with both and am glad I chose the pc .I am in need of a hammerdrill though.I think I should win the drill because of all the other contractors I am in contact with and they would be able to how the pc performs on the job.and I think after seeing it they would most definately make it their next purchase.
Steven Silkunas
My absolutely best go-to is the 1/4 sheet sander. The plate joiner has never left me down. I really like the stationary planer and hammerdrill.
Crusty Nut
What a cool give away! Everyone can use a cordless drill, including me. Thanks so much for all your reviews.
radu
looking like a really nice drill, and not that far away from the top* drill.
joe collins
I never owned A pc tool only cheap tools from walmart
Luke Brackett
I am a college student that enjoys fixing up things whenever I get the chance and I have never had a power tool to call my own. thanks for the chance!
Lee Westrope
I’ve used Porter cable tool previously and never been disappointed.
as my current cordless drill is dead, this would be a great addition to my tool box.
thanks for the opportunity to support my tool obsession!
stacey
I would like to win because the current cordless drill I use is the spawn of Satan and
has a dead battery every time I need it.
Ralph E. Chase
I need one to replace one that was stolen ! Thanks , I love Tools
Joshua Ernstrom
I’d love to have the longevity and strength of the 18v lithium ion batteries, and to minimize battery changes.
My favorite current Porter Cable is my 7424xp buffer, works great for maintaining paint on vehicles.
I’d love to own the PC 18v detail sander for finish work on my woodworking projects.
vgs
I have heard only good things about PC tools; I would like to win because the current cordless drill
Angel L Perez
It’s simple i would like to for once own a high quality tool that would make my home shop a better place to work at, Porter Cable it’s just that kind of brand, that is why.
‘Nuff said, bub!
Craig
This is a beautiful drill. My current drill is a Porter Cable that I bought in the year 2000. It’s been a diehard and I’d expect no less from another Porter Cable product.

If my dad was alive, I think he’d be amazed at my interest in tools and my crafty ability in how I use them (by myself!) for house and craft projects. He was a fellow “tool guy”, my uncle was a carpenter, and although I’m a chick, looks like I inherited the tool bug! I don’t have any Porter Cable products, only cheap corded stuff I find at rummages etc. I’d be honored to have a quality tool to use!
